Abstract

This research was aimed to improve learning achievement and learning activeness of class VII on the Classification of Living Things by apllying of the quartet-card game method and knowing the students' responses to the application of the quartet-card game method. The research was Classroom Action Research (CAR). This research was conducted in 2 cycles and each cycle had 2 meetings. The research subjects were 7C class students of SMP N 1 Semin Gunungkidul. The results of this research indicates that learning by applying the quartet-card game method of the Classification of Living Things can improve learning achievement and student learning activeness. Learning achievement is shown by increasing the percentage of mastery learning. In the pre-cycle is 6.25% with a very low category, the first cycle is 68.75% with a moderate category and the second cycle is 84.375% with a high category. Learning activeness showed an increase in average score, i.e. the first cycle was 64% with the medium category and the second cycle to 87.5% with the high category. Student responses showed 100% of students were happy with the application of the quartet-card game method.

Abstract

The spread of the Corona virus that causes Covid-19 disease led the government issuing a new policy in the field of education. The policy aimed to prevent the Corona virus spread within the educational unit. The policy adopted was the Online School from Home (SFH) implementation. Online learning used smart phones through the Internet network. SFH online has been implemented for the first time in SMP N 1 Semin. Many obstacles occurred during the implementation of SFH, among others: unstable internet connection or network, internet data and limited facilities of android smart phones. The survey results from the students stated that there were things that are not pleasant during SFH that are boring, lack of student motivation, too many tasks, lack of focus in learning, and the learning atmosphere is less fun. Ninety percent of students wanted to go back to school and interacted with schoolmates. The implementation of the SFH continued to be extended until the education environment is safe for teaching and learning. Schools were trying to implement strategies so that SFH runs well. This strategy was a joint discussion between the school and the school committee, adjusting the SFH school schedule, and implemented IT training for teachers.

Abstract

Tujuan best practise ini untuk mengoptimalkan pembelajaran jarak jauh melalui kegiatan tilik siswa, mengevaluasi pelaksanaan kegiatan tilik siswa, dan mendeskripsikan kendala dan solusi pada pembelajaran jarak jauh melalui kegiatan tilik siswa. Subjek best practise ini adalah peserta didik kelas VII SMPN 1 Semin tahun ajaran 2020/2021 sejumlah 145 peserta didik. Pembelajaran dengan penerapan blended learning melalui kegiatan tilik siswa mampu mengoptimalkan pembelajaran Prakarya. 90,3% peserta didik lebih memahami materi budidaya tanaman sayuran melalui kegiatan tilik siswa selama pembelajaran jarak jauh. Sebanyak 92,4% peserta didik senang jika guru melakukan kegiatan tilik siswa selama pembelajaran jarak jauh sebagai pengganti tatap muka di sekolah. Kendala kegiatan tilik siswa ini antara lain tidak bisa menjangkau semua peserta didik karena keterbatasan waktu, keterbatasan kemampuan guru dan kondisi geografis tempat tinggal peserta didik yang jauh dari sekolah dan agak sulit dijangkau. Solusi yang diterapkan adalah pelaksanaan kegiatan bisa dilakukan di luar jam pelajaran, dilakukan secara berkala dan tidak hanya pada satu materi saja.
