Abstract

Fenomena kemiskinan tidak saja terjadi di daerah pedasaan, akan tetapi juga dialami oleh masyarakat perkotaan. Munculnya corona virus disease (covid-19) tampak semakin mendorong peningkatan angka kemiskinan khususnya masyarakat Kota Banda Aceh. Berbagai ragam geliat perekonomian masyarakat beranjak mundur seiring dengan lahirnya kebijakan pemberlakuan pembatasan kegiatan masyarakat (PKM) oleh pemerintah. Meskipun kebijakan ini bertujuan memutuskan mata rantai peredaran Covid-19, namun telah berdampak cukup signifikan terhadap pertumbuhan ekonomi masyarakat di Kota Banda Aceh. Kemiskinan memang telah menjadi persoalan umum masyarakat dunia yang tidak mudah diselesaikan, tetapi tidak bermakna tidak bisa dicarikan solusi. Baitul Mal menjadi salah satu tumpuan harapan bagi penyelesaian persoalan kemiskinan terutama dalam menjawab kemana arah pemberdayaan masyarakat dan bagaimana bentuk pemberdayaan masyarakat Kota Banda Aceh..? Untuk memperoleh data terkait arah pembinaan masyarakat ini, maka penelitian ini dilakukan secara kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan  in-depth interview, appreciative inquiry, dan studi dokumen. Proses analisis data diperkuat dengan menghubungkannya dengan Teori Intervensi. Teori ini dipandang cukup relevan karena baitul Mal Kota Banda Aceh  juga melakukan sejumlah intervensi dalam rangka memberdayakan ekonomi kerakyatan. Hasil penelitian menggambarkan bahwa baitul mal telah melakukan beberapa intervensi dalam rangka pemberdayaan masyarakat miskin dalam berbentuk colaboratif dan uswah fardiyah sehingga telah mendorong percepatan kemandirian masyarakat miskin.

Abstract

Currently Indonesian government is working eagerly to improve the nation tourism industry, the focus is given especially to the local area of the country. Aceh province as one of the tourism destinations in Indonesia is also supporting the central government to achieve the goal which is improving the country`s tourism. In doing so, Aceh local government has undertaken several actions to manage, beautify and promote the industry in order to improve the local tourism sector. Besides the availability of tourism attractive activities, beautiful places and excellent services provided in the tourism destinations, the available of local products as tourist attraction is also a must- have in a tourist destination. Tourism industry is incomplete without the availability of local tourism products which has its own value to the visitor. Therefore, Aceh should produce and promotes a product that in-line with Islamic law (halal) because Aceh has been assigned as one province in Indonesia that offers Islamic tourism. This paper is studying the ability of the post- graduate students from Communication and Broadcasting Department (KPI) of UIN Ar- Raniry to conceptualize a branding strategy of Acehnese local products so that the products are attractive enough for tourists to buy it. The data is collected by doing field observation and interview with the producers of local tourism products.  FGD has been arranged to gain the students ‘thoughts on branding strategy concepts. The study shows that most of local tourism producers do not actively promote their products and FGD result offers several concepts of strategy branding that can be a reference for local producer in the future, they are: market survey, create a product, name a brand, packaging, promoting, marketing/ distributing and evaluating.

Abstract

The interpersonal communication of beggars involves the beggars’ interaction with their donors, and interaction among beggars. This communication incorporates symbols that have been given meaning, both verbal and non-verbal. This study aims to determine the motives that encourage someone to become a beggar in Banda Aceh, the effectiveness of the city government’s policy in handling the begging activities and to find out the process of interpersonal communication of the beggars. This study applies the descriptive qualitative method with phenomenology approach, to describe the meaning of some people’s lives. The research subjects are the beggars who are willing and able to provide the required information in-depth. The result shows that the interpersonal communication process among the beggars and the beggars with the donors are conducted through symbolic interaction by using language and symbols, and role-play performance creating condition and atmosphere which gave certain meanings. The communities performing such interactions had the ability to utilise symbols to create an impression that attracted the attention of donors. The actions raised people’s sympathy who will give charities to them in any expected feedback. The understanding of this issue is important for the realization of the implementation of the regulation but still maintaining the aspirations of the citizens who uphold Islamic values, the concept of giving to the people in need.

Abstract

The religions in China have active communication with foreign religious bodies and personnel to contribute to world peace and strong friendships between the Chinese people and from other countries. Ten classic Islamic books, including the Koran, have been translated into Chinese and Uygur and published under the direction of the Chinese Islamic Association. These books are spread throughout China. This article narrates the daily life of the Islamic community in China. The data is based on the author's observations while living in China in taking doctoral studies and in-depth interviews with the community and the mosque's imam. The Islamic community in China is experiencing rapid growth, both in terms of numbers, economy and other activities. Their existence is very easy to know, halal restaurants are very affordable and spread in many places. There are special markers to make sure it is a halal restaurant, such as the distinctive ornaments of Islam that are green, calligraphy verses of the Koran, pictures of mosques, Muslim-clad sellers. Among all, the most important is halal writing in Arabic. Generally, Muslim traders sell lanzho lamian, a noodle typical from the lanzho area which is a Muslim majority area. This food is very famous not only for Muslims. The Chinese themselves also really like it, because the manufacturing process is guaranteed to be healthy. The process of making noodles is done in front of the buyer, such as stirring flour, grinding to become noodles done by hand, without any tools. Keywords: China, religion, Islam, society, lanzho lamian

Abstract

Singapore is a pluralistic nation consisting of various ethnicities. The majority of ethnic groups are Chinese, Malay, Indian. As a city-state that was only independent in 1965, it has various potentials, including the potential for reliable human resources. The state of Singapore was originally a Malay territory, the Sultanate of Johor. However, the area was in dispute with England. After Japan occupied Tamasek or Singapore, Singapore's sovereignty became irregular. After Japan lost to the Allies, power in Singapore became vacant. However, after independence, Singapore became a country ruled by the Prime Minister, Lee Kuan Yew. The Singapore government is of global concern because the Malay mainland is held by ethnic Chinese. This fame was coupled with the cleverness of Lee Kuan Yew's thinking in running a political system that accentuated various modern thoughts. This article uses the Agenda Setting Theory and Content Analysis methods. This paper shows that Singapore's Political Communication adapted to Chinese, Western and Malay thinking.

Abstract

Increased political interests in a nation may lead to isolated citizens and conflicts of interest; so that ethnic minorities are oppressed, such as the Rohingya ethnic group in Myanmar. The Rohingya group as a minority in Myanmar, who fled to save themselves in Southeast Asia, were stranded in Aceh almost every year. The process of rescuing and sheltering the Rohingya refugees in Aceh experienced various problems, and one of them was cultural conflicts between the Rohingya refugees and the Acehnese people. The theory used in this study was a symbolic interaction with a descriptive qualitative method, and to understand the Rohingya issues through the mass media, the researchers used the media as data sources. The results of this study revealed that the Acehnese people were eager to save the Rohingya refugees due to religious similarities. Likewise, the regional government in coordination with the central government was also willing to save them on humanitarian grounds. In addition, UNHCR and volunteers from various organizations and non-governmental organizations were also working to serve and taking care of the needs of the Rohingya refugees. There were cultural conflicts between the Acehnese people and the Rohingya refugees due to cultural differences and mutual misunderstanding between their cultures. However, cultural adaptation could occur properly so that the refugees could survive and be comfortable in their daily lives in refugee camps. Cultural differences were an obstacle in the adaptation of the refugees in Aceh, but the similarity of religion was one of the factors of the cultural adaptation.

Abstract

Unlike normal people in general, people with visual impairment experience limitations in carrying out daily activities. In Indonesia, the number of disabilities in 2022 reached 1.5% or around 4 million people. One way to fulfill the social functioning of blind disabilities is to increase motivation and develop potential through rehabilitation at UPTD Rumoh Seujahtera Beujroh Meukarya (RSBM). This study aims to determine what forms of social services for visual disabilities at UPTD RSBM. The type of research used is a qualitative approach with descriptive methods through observation, documentation, and interviews with 5 informants. The results of this study obtained data that the form of social services is in the form of residential rehabilitation social services (Boarding) with several activities such as: Care and nurturing, mental and spiritual guidance, physical guidance, social guidance and psycho social counseling, skills guidance and accessibility services such as massage massage skills, braille reading and writing skills, rattan weaving skills, art skills, jaws computer technology skills, social assistance and resocialization guidance.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi implementasi Program Kartu Prakerja dalam meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat di Gampong Dayah Tanoh, Kecamatan Glumpang Tiga, Kabupaten Pidie. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa wawancara mendalam terhadap empat orang warga penerima Program Kartu Prakerja. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif untuk menggambarkan pemahaman, motivasi, serta pemanfaatan program oleh masyarakat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa informasi mengenai Program Kartu Prakerja umumnya diperoleh melalui media sosial tanpa adanya sosialisasi formal dari pemerintah desa. Motivasi utama masyarakat dalam mengikuti program lebih didominasi oleh keinginan untuk memperoleh insentif dibandingkan peningkatan keterampilan kerja. Pelatihan yang diikuti cenderung bersifat formalitas, sementara insentif yang diterima lebih banyak dimanfaatkan untuk memenuhi kebutuhan sehari-hari daripada pengembangan usaha atau peningkatan kapasitas ekonomi. Selain itu, tidak ditemukan adanya pengawasan maupun pendampingan lanjutan dari pemerintah desa. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa Program Kartu Prakerja memberikan manfaat finansial jangka pendek, namun belum sepenuhnya efektif dalam meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat secara berkelanjutan. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan peningkatan sosialisasi, pengawasan, serta penyesuaian program dengan kebutuhan riil masyarakat desa.
