Abstract

MSMEs Cassava Chips Maju Jaya in the oil draining process still use conventional methods. This causes the oil cannot be drained optimally with a shelf life of only 1-2 weeks. The implementation of this program aims to disseminate oil draining machine technology. This program is carried out with the stages of partner observation, manufacturing and testing of oil draining machines, and training and mentoring in the use of oil draining machines. The dimensions of the oil draining machine are 600 mm x 430 mm x 560 mm, with a capacity of 10 kg per draining procedure. The motor used is an AC electric motor with a power of HP. The oil drainer's outside and interior bodies are constructed from 304 stainless steel plate and vortexed stainless steel. This helps to make the oil draining procedure easier and quicker. The oil draining process is done by inserting cassava chips into the machine for 15 minutes until the oil content is reduced. From the test, the shelf life of the product is increased to 2 months. This can make a positive contribution to the quality of MSME Maju Jaya products.

Abstract

Kelangkaan energi di Indonesia diakibatkan oleh semakin menipisnya suplai energi fosil mengharuskan pemerintah untuk mendapatkan energi alternatif, salah satunya pada energi sampah. Salah satu cara pemanfaatannya adalah dengan pembangunan pembangkitan listrik skala kecil dan peningkatan efisiensinya. Pada penelitian ini, dilakukan analisa perhitungan potensi nilai kalor sampah plastik serta simulasi mini powerplant menggunakan software Cycle Tempo. Pemanfaatan uap panas hasil pembakaran sampah sebagai sumber panas PLTSa. Komponen dari sistem pembangkit daya tersebut meliputi pompa, boiler, turbin, dan kondensor. Variasi tekanan dan temperature dilakukan untuk mendapatkan nilai optimal, sehingga didapatkan daya dan efisiensi paling tinggi. Hasil penelitian didapatkan bahwa nilai daya dan efisiensi tertinggi pada laju aliran massa 35 kg/s dan suhu keluaran boiler 125 0C, yaitu 2,86 kW dan 45,52%. Sementara pada optimasi tekanan keluaran pompa, didapatkan nilai daya tertinggi sebesar 2902 kW pada tekanan 35 bar. Penelitian ini dimaksudkan sebagai langkah awal pemanfaatan sampah plastik dalam rangka mengurangi kerugian kalor dan meningkatkan efisiensi.

Abstract

MSMEs Dedy's Babies Wear, in its production process, still uses conventional sewing machines, and it causes the production of baby hats and shoes to be limited. Within a month, Dedy's Babies Wear MSMEs could only produce 2400 sets of baby hats and shoes with the help of 5 workers. A group of baby hats and shoes sells for IDR 10,000. In addition, the product marketing process is only limited to local coverages. As a result, market demand is unstable every month. This community service program aims to overcome the partners' main problems (the low production capacity and limited marketing process). This program is carried out with the stages of observation, training, and assistance in sewing with overlocking machines, as well as digital product marketing assistance through the e-commerce platform. From the evaluation, the production of MSMEs capacity has doubled. In addition, customer orders through e-commerce have become a potential source of income for partners.

Abstract

Partners in this service are MSME Duck Livestock, located in Junrejo, Batu. This partner currently uses conventional methods in carrying out the process of mixing animal feed. Therefore, the purpose of this service is to introduce and implement mechanization in the animal feed mixing process through the use of animal feed mixing machines. The animal feed mixer machine used has a capacity of 10 kg. The motor power used is 0.25 Horsepower (HP). The dimensions of this machine reach 740mm x 310mm x 550mm. This machine is equipped with four straight mixers used in mixing animal feed. Through the evaluation that has been carried out, the use of this animal feed mixing machine is proven to provide significant benefits. Mixing animal feed ingredients, which previously required quite a long time, has been shortened to only 3 minutes for every 10 kg of feed ingredients. This increase in efficiency is significant for MSME Duck Animal Feed. With the animal feed mixing machine, our partners can increase productivity and efficiency in their business. In addition, this machine also helps improve the consistency and quality of mixing feed, thereby positively impacting the growth and health of the ducks they care for. Overall, using animal feed mixing machines in this service has a significant positive impact on MSMEs of Duck Animal Feed. By increasing the productivity, efficiency, and quality of mixing animal feed, it is hoped that our partners can sustainably develop their businesses and increase their income.

Abstract

Water electrolysis promises the capability to produce green hydrogen in the future. The efficiency and hydrogen evolution reaction rate (HER) of water electrolysis can be improved through magnetic field assisted electrolysis. External magnetic field exposure improves hydrogen production without requiring complex catalyst synthesis technique. The purpose of this study is to introduce chaos into a magnetic field assisted electrolysis system which disturbs the water molecules stability. The chaos effect was triggered by irregular flux reflection technique. The flux reflection was generated using diamagnetic tourmaline stones which sticked all over the electrolyzer wall. Consequently, the rotational speed of DMF does not reduce the effectiveness of chaotic flux. As a result, the hydrogen bond of the water molecules is destabilized irregularly. In conjuction with that, the bonds are unable to be reformed which make the water molecules continuously in movement. The critical effect of chaotic flux is the shear force that experienced by water molecules. The paramagnetic OH- ion movement is also slowed down so that H+ ion and electrons interaction were occurred in less restrictive manner. Hence, the chaotic magnetic field able to improve HER.  The chaotic flux reflection improves hydrogen production in magnetic field assisted water electrolysis through water properties and ion transfer mechanism modification.

Abstract

A plentiful oceanic wave leads to the utilization of this energy into electricity. An oceanic wave power generator with a pendulum system is one of the innovations that can generate electricity from the ocean. This research aimed to identify the energy from the oceanic wave power generator with a pendulum system. It was conducted by experimenting with the pendulum rod that spins the gearbox in the generator. It was intended to measure the obtained electric power by variating the pendulum mass with the average oceanic wave speed. The research finding shows that the generator results in a maximum of 33 watts of electric power, while the lowest power is 9 watts with a pendulum mass of 0,6 kg.

Abstract

This time, the community service program partner is Mimi Roti Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Watugede, Singosari, Malang Regency. Founded in 1999, Mimi Roti MSME has experienced rapid development by reaching a production capacity of 100 donuts and burgers per day. However, Mrs. Alfiyah, as the owner of UMKM Mimi Roti, experienced significant obstacles in terms of product packaging. Using simple plastic clips causes the bread's shelf life to be only three days, limiting the growth potential and competitiveness of Mimi Roti MSMEs in the market. This service activity aims to help Mimi Roti MSMEs overcome packaging problems and increase their competitiveness in the market. To overcome this problem, the community service team took several steps, namely: analysis of partner needs, research on continuous band sealer (CBS) machines, selection and procurement of CBS machines, packaging redesign, training on using CBS machines, training on digital marketing strategies, monitoring, and evaluation. Applying the CBS machine and packaging redesign increased the shelf life of bread to 7 days, improved the quality and attractiveness of the packaging, and increased sales by up to 20%. Community service activities at MSME Mimi Roti have succeeded in helping MSME Mimi Roti overcome packaging problems, increase competitiveness, and expand its market reach. Implementing better packaging technology, attractive packaging redesign, and effective digital marketing strategies have proven to positively impact product quality, sales, and profits of Mimi Roti MSMEs.

Abstract

Sumber Rejeki Welding Workshop is one of the small and medium enterprises engaged in manufacturing and welding services in Malang City. In its production process, the workshop still relies on conventional welding methods that are less efficient and produce suboptimal weld quality. Therefore, this community service program aims to enhance production efficiency and quality by implementing Gas Tungsten Arc Welding technology and assisting in applying occupational health and safety standards. The implementation method of this program includes several stages: the preparation stage, which involves identifying partner needs and machine installation; the training stage, consisting of theoretical and practical sessions for operators; the production assistance stage; and the evaluation stage, using the Non-Destructive Testing method with penetrant testing techniques to assess weld quality. The results of this program implementation indicate a 30% improvement in production efficiency, with reduced processing time and fewer welding defects. Significant economic impacts are also evident through increased production capacity and the workshop's competitiveness in the local market. Furthermore, the provided training has enhanced the operators' skills in machine operation and raised their awareness of the importance of occupational safety standards. This program demonstrates that adopting modern welding technology can significantly improve productivity and product quality, making it a potential model for application in other small and medium enterprises to boost competitiveness in the manufacturing sector.
