Abstract

Discussion of the proposed draft of new MABIMS criteria and draftof MUI criteria was made for a common interest and agreement deliberately forthe unification of the Hijri calendar in Indonesia. Some Islamic Organizationsin Indonesia had provided various views and attitudes towards the draft of thenew criteria. The views and attitudes of these mass organizations was various, and only the Islamic Union (Persis) had accepted and used these criteria since2012. The other organizations’ views were as follows: Nahdlatul Ulama(NU),expressly stipulated that the initial stipulation of Ramad}an, Syawal, danZulhijjah was based on rukyat, with hisab support. As like NU, al-Irsyad al-Islamiyyah was still guided with rukyat. For it, hisab was just as a tool forthe implementation of rukyat properly and effectively. Similarly al-Jam’iyatulWasliyah, which was consisten guided on rukyat, but chose to use the criteriaof the workshop results in Cisarua Bogor in 2011M. While Muhammadiyahuntil now had not determined the official attitude about the draft.

Abstract

Abstract

The teachings of Islam can be understood, because Islam brought by Prophet Muhammad pbuh. at 14 centuries ago, who was sent to convey Islamic teachings with the holy book, al-Qur’an as the principal teachings of Islam. While the second source is as-Sunnah. Both of them, al-Quran and as-Sunnah, are the principal source of Islamic teachings. Along with the times increasingly complex, the problems in people's lives are more and more undiscovered in these two sources. it is necessary for an ijtihad to finish its problems by way of ijma 'as a method of solving problems of religion. Ijma 'itself is an agreement of the mujtahid at some time after Prophet Muhammad on a syar'i law about a particular event. Events of the law faced by Muslims did’n stop by the death of the Prophet Muhammad pbuh. This problem, both in types and quality, is always developed according with evolution of time. Therefore, alternatives taken to determine the laws of any event are through ijtihad and make decisions together. That joint decision is called ijma ' and is the third argument agreed by sholars to be sources of law. Then by agreement as a third source of law, it have power in the Islamic legal system. The power of ijma' has been suggested by the Prophet in a hadith "La tajtami'u ummati' ala al-dhallah".

Abstract

Ketiga, memberikan pelatihan soft-skill seperti penguasaan bel, penguasaan tilawah, perhitungan waris, hingga pencarian ayat al-Quran. AbstractThis article is formulated as a report on the service of mentoring the Quran fahmil and Syarhil Quran training at the Bahrul Huda Sarmandi Islamic Boarding School. The method used in the service is Community Based Research (CBR). By using this method, the service team performs five steps of service, namely: Laying foundations, Planning, Gathering and Analysis Information, Action on Finding, Monitoring and Evaluation. Based on the results of the study, it was found that there were four main problems faced by the subjects of service, namely: the difficulty of cadre of participants, the uneven distribution of Fahmil Quran and Syarhil Quran materials, not yet mastered supporting soft-skills, and no competition experience. To answer this problem, the service team carried out 10 assistance activities in the field. The existing problems are dealt with by: First, multilevel regeneration, namely building MFQ and MSQ teams with tiered class membership (from class VII to class X). Second, distributing the latest fahmil material according to the 2022 National Tilawatil Quran Development Institute syllabus and dividing three national standard MSQ texts. Third, providing soft-skill training such as mastering the bell, mastering recitations, calculating inheritance, and searching for verses of the Koran. Fourth, encourage the Bahrul Huda Islamic boarding school to hold an al-Quran league at the celebration of the Islamic new-year or on nights in the month of Ramadan.

Abstract

The discussion on calculating Islamic prayer (salat) times contained in the Kitab Khulashah has its characteristics. The calculation process of salat beginning times has referred to the triangular ball algorithm system. Besides, there are also daqoiqut tamkin corrections presented through tables and calculator calculation methods. This interesting calculation can be studied; how the transformation system of salat time coordinates and the accuracy level of the salat beginning times calculation results. This study uses a library research paradigm with a qualitative theory verification approach using an arithmetic approach, and the results are presented descriptively and then compared with similar methods. The results show that the coordinate transformation refers to the modern astronomical system, and the calculation system has used spherical trigonometry (spherical triangle). The calculation results differ from 0 to 3 minutes with contemporary methods. Differences in data and methods cause it. Suppose the calculation is using the contemporary method. In that case, there is a difference of 0 seconds to 12 seconds. This indicates that modifications to the contemporary calculation system will produce a more accurate calculation when the calculation is made.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The accuracy of the direction of the Qibla of mosques is still a problem in Indonesian society, including on Belitung Island. For example, research conducted by Reno Ismanto, et al., on Belitung Island in 2023 found that out of 14 mosques that were sampled in the study, 8 mosques needed to be calibrated because the direction of the Qibla was not accurate. One of the factors is the use of simple tools and the lack of human resources who master the method of measuring the direction of the Qibla. By using the PAR method, the community service entitled "Cadreship of Astronomy Experts and Assistance in Calibration of the Direction of the Qibla of Mosques on Belitung Island, Bangka Belitung Islands Province" aims to train instructors, staff of the Ministry of Religion and groups related to mosques, basic astronomy skills and the ability to measure the direction of the Qibla of mosques using the Istiwaaini tool which refers to sunlight. The community service was carried out using two methods, namely the classical and non-classical methods. The implementation of the community service was relatively effective. This shows that there is an increase in knowledge and ability to measure the direction of the Qibla using the istiwaaini method by the devotion of the subjects, as measured by the pretest and posttest values, namely with a ratio of 84.80 49.77. Keywords: Community Empowerment, Qibla Direction Measurement, Belitung Island.

Abstract

This study discusses the Islamic legal perspective on the practice of adopting sick children (belangir) in Sarangmandi Village, Sungai Selan District, Central Bangka Regency. The research focuses on the adoption process and the factors underlying the practice. The findings show that this practice is a local tradition carried out when frequently ill children are treated by traditional healers through prayers, massage, and herbal remedies, after which the children are adopted by the healer. From the perspective of Islamic law, this practice is permissible as long as it does not sever the child’s lineage (nasab) from their biological parents. The adoption is based on mutual help and the welfare of the child and does not contradict the teachings of the Qur’an and Hadith. Therefore, this customary practice can be accepted as it is in accordance with the principles of Islamic law.

Abstract

Accurate Qibla orientation is essential for the validity of Muslim prayer; inconsistencies in both traditional and modern determination methods continue to produce significant inaccuracies, particularly in archipelagic regions. This study assesses the accuracy of Qibla direction in mosques across the Bangka Belitung Islands, Indonesia, and evaluates the methods used to determine it. A mixed-methods approach was employed, combining field measurements of 70 mosques using the solar shadow (istiwā’ainī) method and GPS-based applications with semi-structured interviews. Measured orientations were compared with geodetically calculated azimuths, and spatial distribution patterns were analyzed using Geographic Information Systems (GIS). The results show that only 30% of mosques are accurately aligned (≤2° deviation), while 54% are less accurate and 16% are significantly misaligned (>10°). GIS-based analysis reveals spatial variability in deviation patterns, indicating unequal access to technical knowledge and measurement tools. This study contributes to integrating astronomical, geodetic, and geospatial approaches for Qibla determination and highlights the need for standardized verification practices in geographically fragmented regions.
