Abstract

ABSTRAKPotensi sumber daya alam perikanan saat ini terus digali, namun mengubah potensi sumber daya alam menjadi penciptaan kreasi batik masih sangat terbatas. Tujuan tulisan ini adalah menghasilkan eksperimentasi berdasarkan sumber ide krustasea Arafura yang dikembangkan menjadi desain busana batik. Metode yang dipergunakan adalah deskriptif-eksperimentatif, memakai model 4-D Thiagarajan (1974) yaitu (1) Definisi; (2) Desain; (3) Pengembangan; dan (4) Diseminasi. Dimulai dengan mengidentifikasi potensi lokal Arafura, seleksi, merumuskan ide-ide, eksperimentasi, hingga penciptaan desain. Hasil dari eksperimen ini adalah purwarupa busana batik berdasarkan ide krustasea yang melimpah di Arafura. Kesimpulan berupa potensi ekonomi kreatif bersumber ide lokal sumber daya alam laut Arafura, dapat menambah nilai ekonomi bagi masyarakat setempat. Rekomendasi yang diberikan adalah terus menggali potensi-potensi alam lainnya yang terkait dengan sumber daya alam kelautan untuk diubah menjadi produk ekonomi kreatif.ABSTRACTThe potential of fisheries resources has been explored continuously, but transforming the resources into creative idea of batik creation is still limited. This study aims to conduct experiment based on Arafura crustaceans, as an idea for batik fashion designs. The method used is descriptive-experimental method, using Thiagarajan 4D model (1974), namely (1) Definition; (2) Design, (3) Development; and (4) Dissemination. The study was started by identifying the local potential of Arafura, selection, formulating ideas, experiments, and creating the design. The result of this experiment is a prototype of batik clothes using design based on the idea of crustacean which is abundant in Arafura. The conclusion from this experiment is creative economic potential comes from local ideas of crustacean Arafura natural resources. The recommendation is to continue the exploration of other marine natural potentials resources as ideas for creative economic products.

Abstract

Pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini merupakan bentuk tindak lanjut kegiatan yang direkomendasikan dari hasil KKN UPI tahun 2004 tentang perlunya keterampilan pada sistem pendidikan pesantren sehingga menjadi "pesantren plus". Kegiatan yang dilakukan merupakan model pembelajaran kewirausahaan dalam bentuk latihan dan bimbingan wirausaha sablon bagi para santri yang berada di Kecamatan Cisalak Kabupaten Subang. Metode yang digunakan adalah ceramah, demonstrasi, praktek, dan bimbingan kewirausahaan. Metode ceramah, demonstrasi, dan praktek dilakukan pada saat kegiatan pelatihan dilaksanakan. Bimbingan kewirausahaan dilaksanakan dengan penyediaan kesempatan layanan berkonsultasi kewirausahaan dan membawanya ke pusat industri sablon di Bandung. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa peserta memiliki kemampuan teknis dan wawasan kiat berwirausaha sablon. Selain itu, diperoleh data melalui angket yang sangat menggembirakan yaitu tumbuhnya minat kewirausahaan peserta dengan muncul ciri-ciri mental kewirausahaan seperti: percaya diri, berorientasi tugas dan hasil, pengambil resiko, kepemimpinan, dan berorientasi masa depan.

Abstract

The current educational era still relies heavily on conventional, teacher-centered instruction, resulting in low student engagement and limited understanding, particularly in fine arts subjects such as decorative arts. Students often imitate without grasping fundamental concepts, which hinders creativity and independent learning. This study aims to develop and assess the effectiveness of a structured decorative arts learning module designed for eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 1 Jatitujuh, Majalengka Regency. A quantitative descriptive method with a one-group post-test design was employed, involving 29 students selected through purposive sampling. The learning module incorporated illustrations, examples, practice questions, and active learning strategies across four sessions. Data were collected via post-tests and student response questionnaires and analyzed using descriptive statistics to evaluate comprehension, application, and evaluative understanding. The results indicate a significant improvement in student understanding, with an average post-test score of 85.68, where 86.2% of students met the Minimum Competency Criteria. Student responses averaged 76.9%, reflecting the module's effectiveness, clarity, and support for independent learning. These findings demonstrate that systematic, interactive teaching materials combined with active learning methods can enhance comprehension and motivation in decorative arts. The study concludes that the module is effective in improving student understanding and provides a replicable framework for integrating student-centered learning into fine arts education.
