Abstract

The study has planned to examine the impact of the supply chain business intelligence on the supply chain performance of the Indonesian firms. Additionally, the study has examined the mediating role of agile capability and supply chain capability. For data gathering, total 450 questionnaires were distributed and obtained only 325 questionnaires. During data screening process 23 questionnaires were excluded, since they were incomplete. Therefore, we obtained 67% response rate for the survey in present study. Partial Least Square-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) is an important statistical procedure to carry out multivariate data analysis, Empirical analysis in this study supports the supply chain business intelligence competence with respect to technical, cultural and managerial competence. This indicates that it is necessary to utilize appropriate technologies and tools and have well-defined processes, although these are not sufficient conditions to develop business intelligence product efficiently and effectively, such as, relevant knowledge and information which facilitate in the decision-making functions of the supply chain. Besides, some inter- and intra-organizational culture elements also affect the business intelligence product creation. The prior research further supported the significance of knowledge/information-related competences to enhance agile performance characteristics and competitive performance of the supply chain.

Abstract

The study examines the moderating effect of innovation in the relationship of supply chain management practices (SCMP) and firm performance (FP) of the SMEs of Indonesia.  To achieve this objective, using cross sectional research design, 250 questionnaires were distributed among the supply chain managers of the SMEs by using a convenient sampling technique which yield an 80% response rate. The data was analyzed by using the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) technique. The findings of the study have shown that all the management practices have a positive and significant relationship with the FP of Indonesia SMEs. Furthermore, indirect moderating effect of innovation also shown that Innovation has a positive and significant moderating effect in most of the SCMP and FP. Whereas, one of the SCMP namely, quality information sharing (QIS) and FP relationship is not significantly moderated by the innovation. These findings empirically revealed that innovation is considered to be a significant moderator in the relationship of SCMP and FP which is considered to be significant contribution in the current study. Therefore, the current study added a body of literature in the existing empirical findings. The research limitation and future directions are also discussed at the last of the study.

Abstract

Indonesia is viewed as one of the biggest exporters and producer of foods and also plays an essential role in the development of Indonesia economy. Nevertheless, food industry provides help to the country to generate high level of income. To effect the performance of food industry, there are lot of factors. For this purpose, it is intensively challenging to choose that factor which effects more in the performance of food industry that could lead to a negative or the positive impact on another factor. Therefore, objective of the study is to explore the moderating effect of the information sharing on the relationship of supply chain management (SCM) capabilities and business performance (BP) of Indonesia food industry. Using cross sectional research design, 500 questionnaires were distributed among the supply chain managers of food industry by using a judgmental sampling technique which yield a 40% response rate. The data was analyzed by the Structural Equation Modeling technique. The key findings of the study have shown that SCM capabilities have positive and significant association with the BP. Similarly, it was also shown that information sharing significantly moderates within two components of SCM namely, strategic sourcing, technology capability and BP. Whereas has insignificant moderating effect on the relationship of logistic integration commitment and BP.  Hence, current study contributed some theoretical implications in the existing body of literature. The study limitations and future directions are also being discussed.
