Abstract

Abstract

In the world of medicine, avocados (Persea americane Mill.) are mostly used as traditional medicine in treating various diseases, but in the avocado seed it turns out that so far, it has only been left and thrown away, even though it contains secondary metabolite compounds that can be used as medicinal ingredients, including alkaloids, flavonoids, tannins, saponins, phenolics, terpenoids, and steroids. This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of an avocado seed extract (Persea americana Mill.) concentrations of 5% 10% and 15% b/v against the growth of Candida albicans and Trichopyton sp. and determine at what concentration is most effective. This research is experimental which is a laboratory study using the method of extraction by maceration and disc diffusion (Kirby-Bauer Test) in testffectiveness of avo (Persea americana Mill.) against the growth of Candida albicans and Trichopyton spto testlts obtained from the avocadoment of the diameter of the inhibition were analyzed by one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) and correlation test using the IBM SPSS Statistics version 26 program. The results showed that avocado seed extract (Persea americana Mill) was effective in inhibiting the growth of Candida albicans and Trichopyton sp. The most effective concentration was at a concentration of 15% b/v, respectively, where the inhibition of Candida albicans was 11.84 ± 0.238 mm while the inhibition of Trichopyton sp. was 12.58 ± 0.005 mm (oneway Anova, ? = 0.05)  Keywords: Effectiveness, Persea americana Mill, Candida albicans, Trichopyton sp., Kirby-  Bauer

Abstract

In the digital era, technology plays an important role in supporting inclusive education, especially in Special Schools (SLB). Teachers need to have digital literacy competencies in order to understand the characteristics of students with special needs and develop appropriate learning methods. This training aims to equip SLB teachers with digital literacy skills as an instrument in understanding students and improving their professional competence in using educational technology. This training is carried out in one day (7 hours) using workshop and direct practice methods. The material provided includes an introduction to digital literacy in the context of special education, the use of technology to understand students, the development of digital-based learning media, and digital learning evaluation strategies. Through interactive sessions and simulations, participants are given the opportunity to apply various platforms and applications to create a more inclusive and innovative learning environment. The results of this training are expected to improve teachers' digital competence, enabling them to design and implement technology-based learning strategies effectively. In this way, education for students with special needs can be more adaptive, interactive, and in accordance with their individual needs. This training also encourages teachers to continue developing their digital skills in order to create higher quality learning in SLB

Abstract

Endophytic fungi live and associate in plant tissues and have a mutualistic relationship. Endophytic fungi produce various compounds such as steroids, terpenoids, phenolics, alkaloids which are the same as secondary metabolites from their host plants. The objective of this study is to isolate and identify endophytic fungi from mangrove fruit (Sonneratia alba) and to determine the antibacterial activity of endophytic fungi isolates against the growth of Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli. The type of research is pre-experimental design, one shoot case study. The methods used are isolation, identification and agar diffusion. The pieces of mangrove fruit were disinfected and then cultured on SDA media to grow endophytic fungi isolates. The isolates were cultured repeatedly until pure isolates were obtained. The test of isolate activity against antibacterial was determined by the agar diffusion method with the test material of 2 isolates of endophytic fungi on Nutrient Agar (NA) media. The results showed that the mangrove fruit (Sonneratia alba) produced two isolates of endophytic fungi that could inhibit the growth of Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli. It was concluded that the mangrove fruit culture produced 2 isolates, which are isolate 1 Aspergillus niger and isolate 2 Aspergillus flavus. Isolate 1 and isolate 2 had the potential as antibacterial against the growth of Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli. Isolate 2 was more effective than isolate 1 in inhibiting the growth of Staphylococcus aureus. It is recommended to test the pharmacological and microbiological activity of the findings of isolates 1 and 2 in vivo.
