Abstract

Wood industry waste in Indonesia is very abundant, the percentage based on yield produced can reach 50% for sawdust, 70% for plywood industry waste, and 70% of forest harvesting waste. Wood pellets can be an alternative energy source and the availability of raw materials is very easy to find. Wood pellets are the main concern at this time because of the ease of use in raw materials and have environmentally friendly characteristics. The aims of this research was to investigate the characteristic of wood pellets from three types sawdust of wood waste from furniture industry on Palangkaraya city and compare the propreties of wood pellet with Indonesian National Standard (SNI 8021: 2018). This study used material from the sawdust waste of benuas (Shorea laevis Ridl), melur (Dacrydium spp), and jelutung rawa (Dyera polyphylla). Particles from those materials were made on 40-60 mesh, and to reduce the of extractive substances, the particles were extracted in hot water at 100°C for 3 hour. Pellets are made using single-pelletizer at room temperature with a pressure of 30 MPa for 4 hour. The target density of wood pellet was 1 g/cm³ with a diameter was 0.9 cm and length weas 4.5 cm. The results showed that the quality of Benuas, Melur and Jelutung Rawa wood pellets based on SNI 8021: 2018 wood pellet quality standards showed that the testing of wood pellets in general met the Indonesian National Standards except density. Based on the characteristics of the three types of sawdust waste studied based on specific gravity that the type of wood pulp with medium density as raw material for wood pellets that have the best quality because it has a lower water content of 3.72%, higher density 0.75 g / cm3, lower ash content 0.6%.

Abstract

Logging activities have an impact on changes in composition and standing structure, tree species distribution, community similarity and species diversity. This study aims to determine the diversity of structures and standing composition of logged-over forests. The results show that the composition and structure of the stands are ecologically different, which is indicated by the low type of species equality index. The types of stands at the level of seedlings, stakes, columns and trees from each location are almost all different. But there are some of the same types encountered dominating on the locations of 2005, 2010 and 2015 such as Shorea leprosula, Dipterocarpus borneensis, Shorea laevis, Litsea sp. The stand density at the 2005 block location is higher than the two sites in 2010 and 2015, while the location of 2015 is the location with the lowest stand density.

Abstract

California Bearing Ratio (CBR) dikenal secara umum pada proyek di Indonesia, bahkan dapat dikatakan bahwa CBR merupakan standar tes untuk mengetahui kekuatan tanah. Kekuatan tanah dasar seperti yang ada di lapangan seperti nilai California Bearing Ratio (CBR) tergantung pada kondisi pada saat pelaksanaan dan selama operasi pelayanan berlangsung, alat  Dynamic  Cone Penetrometer (DCP) cocok sekali untuk digunakan pada daerah yang luas seperti Kalimantan Tengah misalnya, dimana pada daerah ini fasilitas tranportasi relatif sukar dan mahal. Oleh sebab itu, untuk memperoleh data CBR yang dibutuhkan di lapangan  menggunakan alat yang lebih memudahkan dalam perencanaan perkerasan jalan dengan mencari korelasi nilai CBR laboratorium dan nilai CBR lapangan berdasarkan alat DCP.Adapun tujuan penelitian yaitu menganalisis korelasi nilai California Bearing Ratio (CBR) dan Dynamic  Cone Penetrometer (DCP) pada prevasi jalan Sei Hanyo-Tumbang Lahung, Kecamatan Kapuas Hulu, Kabupaten Kapuas, Kalimantan Tengah.Dari hasil pengujian sifat-sifat fisik tanah di laboratorium  klasifikasi tanah menurut USCS pada titik I, II, III, IV dan V termasuk kategori CL dan menurut AASHTO termasuk kategori A-6(4). Dari Hasil analisis regesi linier antara CBR (California Bearing Ratio) dengan DCP (Dynamic Cone Penetrometer) didapat persamaan y = 2.5436x - 2.1804 dengan nilai koefisien determinasi (R2)=0,5858 dan nilai koefisien korelasi (r)=0,7653 menunjukkan adanya hubungan sangat kuat dan dapat disimpulkan semakin besar nilai CBR laboratorium maka nilai CBR DCP semakin besar.   California Bearing Ratio (CBR) is generally known in projects in Indonesia, it can even be said that CBR is a test standard to determine soil strength. Therefore, to obtain the CBR data needed in the field, use tools that make it easier to plan pavement by looking for correlations between laboratory CBR values ​​and field CBR values ​​based on DCP tools. Cone Penetrometer (DCP) on the Sei Hanyo-Tumbang Lahung road preservation, Kapuas Hulu District, Kapuas Regency, Central Kalimantan. From the results of testing the physical properties of the soil in the soil classification laboratory according to USCS at points I, II, III, IV and V including category CL and according to AASHTO including category A-6(4). From the results of linear regression analysis between CBR (California Bearing Ratio) and DCP (Dynamic Cone Penetrometer) obtained the equation y = 2.5436x - 2.1804 with the coefficient of determination (R2) = 0.5858 and the value of the correlation coefficient (r) = 0.7653 shows a very strong relationship and it can be concluded that the greater the laboratory CBR value, the greater the DCP CBR value.

Abstract

Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian untuk mengembangkan tanaman buah naga sebagai aliran pemasukan dalam menambah penghasilan bagi masyarakat, dan harapan juga dapat menambah pemasokan kas desa Kandan. Metode yang digunakan berupa ceramah, diskusi dan praktek langsung mengenai teknik budidaya, pembibitan, penanaman, pemeliharaan, proses produksi, pembinaan dan pendampingan Kelompok Tani tentang teknik budidaya, agar Kelompok Tani mampu memproduksi tanaman buah naga secara mandiri setelah mengikuti kegiatan ini. Berdasarkan hasil kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat dapat menambah pemahaman, dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan manfaat dan aneka olahan buah naga; Menambah wawasan tentang berbagai macam produk olahan buah naga seperti sari buah naga, selai buah naga, cake buah naga dan manisan daging dan kulit buah naga. Adapun saran pelaksanaan kegiatan Pengabdian ini adalah Perlu pengabdian masyarakat lebih lanjut sehingga sampai tahap analisis pasar dan praktek penjualan produk; Perlu pengabdian masyarakat lebih lanjut dengan peserta tidak hanya dari satu desa tetapi beberapa desa sehingga hasilnya lebih tersebar luas. Kebutuhan akan tanaman buah naga memang semakin meningkat dari tahun ke tahun, namun hingga saat ini kebutuhan akan tanaman buah naga hanya dikenal bagi petani transmigrasi, begitu juga permasalahan yang dihadapi kelompok lokal masih belum tertarik untuk menanam dilahan petani lokal di desa Kandan. Petani trasmigrasi bersama dengan petani lokal desa Kandan hendaknya lebih berpacu untuk mengembangkan tanaman buah naga sebagai aliran pemasukan untuk menambah nilai tambah penghasilan bagi masyarakat, dan harapan juga dapat menambah pemasokan kas desa Kandan. Pada kegiatan Ilmi pengetahuan dan teknologi bagi masyarakat (IPTEK) bagi masyarakat harus mempunyai kemampuan atau kelayakan untuk meningkatkan nilai tambah proses produksi tanaman buah naga perlu ada lahan yang tersedia untuk pembudidayaan tanaman buah naga yang lebih luas lagi.
