Abstract

This study aims to analyze the shape and existence of local wisdom in the development of sago and to analyze the development strategy of sago processing based on local wisdom in the Angata District, Konawe Selatan Regency. The research variables consisted of forms of local wisdom, strength factors, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats to the development of sago processing. Data were analyzed with SWOT analysis. The results showed that the form and existence of local wisdom in sago processing activities in the Angata District that were still maintained were the involvement of workers, the selection of sago tree stands, and the destruction of pellets. Meanwhile, the strategy of managing sago crops based on local wisdom in Angata District can be done by utilizing the potential of land availability, expanding the network and market absorption, forming capital cooperation, adopting technology, optimizing income and public awareness, the assertiveness of sago regulation, improving the quality of human resources farmers, as well as the preparation of instructors/advisors who are competent in the field of sago management.

Abstract

Gender and food security are highly correlated.  The specific aims this study are (1) to analyze working time allocation based on gender, (2) to examine the income contribution of women to family income, and (3) to evaluate factors affecting food security at household level.  The phenomena of gender inequality and the high rate of malnutrition cases in the District of South Konawe indicate the persistent of food insecurity problems in household level.  Descriptive-qualitative analysis was employed to examine the first two objectives, while econometric approach was used to analyze the last.  Due to the dependent variable has biner characteristic, logit model was employed, and since the cumulative distribution of dependent variables was nonlinear, maximum likelihood was employed to estimate the parameter.  The results of this study were : (1) gender working time allocation shows different pattern between man and women, while women working time allocations was focused on domestic activities, man working time allocation was concentrated on farming activities, (2) women contribute more income  from non-farm activities compared to man did, and (3) factors considered to affect the food security at farmer’s household level were family size, gender based income of non farm activities, and on-farm income.   Key words: gender, food security, logit model, maximum likelihood estimation, income

Abstract

ABSTRAK Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana model manajemen risiko pada usaha penggilingan padi di Kecamatan Cipayung, Kabupaten Bandung Barat. Sulawesi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dan studi pustaka, penulis melakukan telaah literatur sesuai dengan data yang dibutuhkan sebagai bahan primer dan sekunder penulisan ini. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Rantai Pasok Penggilingan Padi merupakan rangkaian dari pemasok, pengolah, distributor atau pengecer dan konsumen dengan bahan baku utama komoditas beras. Rantai pasok penggilingan padi akan melibatkan banyak Mereka termasuk petani, pedagang gabah kering, pedagang mesin pengepres beras, distributor, pengecer, dan pelaku usaha tidak langsung lainnya. para pihak. dan kerentanan dalam rantai pasokan pertanian akan berdampak pada risiko keuangannya. Tujuan manajemen risiko pada minimalisasi kerugian dan peningkatan peluang, atau peluang dalam rantai pasokan.
