Abstract

This study discusses about transformation of Indonesia Open University Library to provide library services for lectures and students, especially students and up to which extent master degree students’ information needs have been fulfilled by Indonesia Open University (UT) digital library. This research uses quantitative approach with descriptive survey method. The result of this research indicates that transformation of UT library has not fully been appropriated by master degree students and information needs have not been fulfilled. Therefore, it is necessary to enhance quantity, quality and ease of access to information source, socialization of information source available at UT digital library and active role of librarians in providing information service.

Abstract

Evaluation of the level of student satisfaction with the quality of the library website is very important for a college library. This study is about the evaluation of the level of student satisfaction with the UT Library website based on user expectations and perceptions using the webqual method. The aim is to determine the extent of student satisfaction with the quality of the UT Library website based on student perceptions and expectations. The webqual method is a method used to measure website quality. The research method used is a survey, a type of quantitative research by giving questionnaires to 100 students who have accessed the library website. Data processing and data analysis techniques use SPSS for Windows version 17 with the mean difference T-test technique which is seen from the average perception, average minimum expectation, and average ideal expectation. The difference between the perception score and the minimum expectation score creates an Adequacy Gap, and the difference between the perception score and the ideal expectation score creates a Superiority Gap. The results of the study indicate that the quality of the UT Library website has been able to meet the minimum expectations of students. This means that students are apparently "quite satisfied" with the services they receive. Keywords : webqual, website quality, perception,

Abstract

Abstrak Literasi informasi merupakan keterampilan yang dimiliki seseorang dalam mengenali informasi yang dibutuhkan, mencari informasi, mengevaluasi informasi yang didapatkannya, dan menggunakan informasi secara efektif. Kompetensi ini sangat penting untuk dimiliki oleh para siswa di era digital saat ini agar dapat mengakses, memahami, dan memanfaatkan informasi dengan bijak. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengkaji bagaimana program literasi informasi yang diselenggarakan oleh perpustakaan SMPN 1 Bireuen ini diterapkan dan kendala yang dihadapi. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan studi dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan program literasi informasi di perpustakaan SMPN 1 Bireuen dilakukan melalui beberapa tahapan, yaitu: (1) pengenalan konsep literasi informasi, (2) pelatihan dan pendampingan siswa dan guru, (3) integrasi dalam pembelajaran, (4) evaluasi dan refleksi. Kendala yang dihadapi antara lain kurangnya pemahaman guru dan siswa terhadap mencari dan mengevaluasi informasi yang akurat, keterbatasan sarana prasarana, serta minimnya alokasi waktu. Namun, upaya penerapan literasi informasi ini tetap dilanjutkan dengan melibatkan berbagai pihak terkait agar siswa dan siswi di SMPN 1 Bireuen dapat memiliki keterampilan literasi informasi yang memadai. Kata kunci: Literasi Informasi, Pencarian Informasi, Perpustakaan Sekolah   Abstract Abstract Information literacy is the ability to identify information needs, search for information, disseminate information, and use information effectively. In the digital era, this competency is essential for students to access, understand, and utilize information wisely. The purpose of this study is to examine how the information literacy program organized by the SMPN 1 Bireuen library is implemented and the obstacles faced. This research is a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data collection techniques in this study were carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation studies. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of the information literacy program in the SMPN 1 Bireuen library was carried out through several stages, namely: (1) introduction to the concept of information literacy, (2) training and mentoring of students and teachers, (3) integration in learning, (4) evaluation and reflection. The obstacles faced include the lack of understanding of teachers and students in searching for and evaluating accurate information, limited facilities and infrastructure, and minimal time allocation. However, efforts to implement this information literacy are continued by involving various related parties so that students at SMPN 1 Bireuen can have adequate information literacy skills.
