Abstract

This research aims to find out the students' interest in studying in State Vocational High School 3 of Singkawang based on ethnics that live in Singkawang which area consists of Dayak, Malay, Madura, and Chinese. The qualitative method was used in this research. The subjects of this study were 5 students from each ethnic which the total of them are twenty students who were considered able to represent and provide the data needed by researchers. The object of the study was students' learning interests based on Dayak, Malay, Madura, and Chinese ethnics. In this study, sampling techniques were used purposive sampling techniques. The data analysis in this study used the Miles and Huberman model by collecting data at the time the learning process takes place, and after completion of data collection within a certain period. The results of this study showed that students' learning interests based on ethnics were: (1) students who come from the Dayak ethnic tend to be more enthusiastic and interested in learning if the teachers who teach are from the same ethnic and have a tendency to only be interested in certain lessons in their field; (2) most students from the Malay ethnic have a high interest in learning in all the lessons in their field and a tendency to like teachers who have different ethnics; (3) Madura students have a higher learning interest when they were taught by teachers from the same ethnic and most students only interested in certain lessons, (4) most students from Chinese ethnic do not mind the ethnic background of the teacher who teaches and they have very high enthusiasm and interest in pursuing their field.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the referential meaning and non-referential meaning contained in the album of Terigas 2. This study aims to (1) describe how referential meaning refers to objects in the lyrics of the Malay song Sambas on the album of Terigas 2, (2) describe how the referential meaning refers to events in the lyrics of the Malay song Sambas on the album of Terigas. 2, (3) describe how the non-referential meaning in the form of prepositions in the lyrics of the Malay song Sambas on the album of Terigas 2, and (4) describe how the non-referential meaning in the form of conjunctions in the lyrics of the Malay song Sambas on the album of Terigas 2. This study used a descriptive method in the form of qualitative research. The source of data in this study came from the album Terigas 2 and the data in this study was a series of words in the album Terigas 2 which contain referential and non-referential meanings. The data collection technique used was a documentary study technique and the tools used were the researchers themselves as key instruments and data recording cards. There were five data analysis techniques used in this study which included reading/understanding data, classifying data, selecting data, analyzing data, and concluding data. Based on the results of the study obtained 85 data, namely the referential meaning in the form of objects totalling 51 data, referential meaning in the form of events totalling 19 data, non-referential meaning in the form of prepositions totalling 3 data, and non-referential meaning in the form of conjunctions totalling 12 data.

Abstract

This study aims to: (1) Describe the level of students council administrators’ understanding of self-leadership and its application before being given the services. (2) Knowing how much the Group Guidance service influence to improve the student self-leadership in SMA N 1 Singkawang. The research used is quantitative research, with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The population in this study was all the students of council management of SMA N 1 Singkawang, they were 30 students. The study sample was taken purposively with the number of research samples of 9 students. The data collection techniques used in this study were questionnaires, interviews, and documentation, while the data collection instrument in this study used questionnaire guidelines, interview guidelines and documentation in the form of photos of activities. The data analysis technique used Quantitative Percentage Description and Wilcoxon Matched Pairs test analysis. From the results of the percentage description, the results of 3 students were obtained in the high category, 15 students were in the medium category, 8 students were in the less category and 4 students were in a low category. The data were analyzed using the SPSS.25 application. Based on the testing result, it is known that Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) is worth 0.008. Because the value of 0.008 is smaller than 0.05 (0.008 < 0.05) it can be concluded that H1 is accepted or there is an influence of group guidance services on the self-leadership of the student council management in SMAN 1 Singkawang.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the factors that cause bullying behaviour of class XI students at MAN Singkawang. The research used is qualitative. The research subjects used were 13 people. The method used was the interview with sampling, the data source was purposive. Collection technique with triangulation. The results of this study indicated that factors causing bullying behaviour: (a) family factors were caused by a less harmonious family, incomplete (parents die or get divorced), communication between parents and children was not smooth, and unfair parenting; (b) the peer factor due to the excessive intensity of communication between peers allowed for the desire to bully at the instigation of their friends, so that they were considered to have full authority over their group; (c) the mass media factor, often excessive online gameplay and even more so the misuse of social media.

Abstract

This study aims to (1) describe students' mathematical numeracy ability; (2) describe the level of students' numeracy ability in terms of learning interest and (3) describe the factors that influence students' mathematical numeracy ability. This research method was qualitative descriptive research. The research subjects were 45 grade IV students at SD Negeri 84 Singkawang. Data collection techniques in this study were based on questionnaires, measurements and interviews. The data analysis technique used Miles and Huberman Model, namely data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that (1) students' mathematical numeracy ability in solving problems on flat material had an average of 39.58 which was in the medium category, (2) students' mathematical numeracy ability in terms of learning interest had an average of 67.75 which was in the high category (a) students' mathematical numeracy ability in terms of high interest in learning were able to carry out all indicators very well and had an average of 38.64; (b) students' mathematical numeracy ability in terms of medium interest in learning was able to carry out all indicators well and had an average of 39; and (c) students' mathematical numeracy ability in terms of low interest in learning; students were able to solve problems well and had an average of 44.33, (3) Students’ mathematical numerical ability influenced by internal factors, namely, the ability to remember, study habits, and interest in learning, while for external factors, namely family, community, and friends environments.
