Abstract

COVID-19 has now become a global health problem. In Indonesia, there are 828.026 confirmed cases as of January 10, 2021.(1) To deal with this current situation, prevention efforts are needed. One of them increases endurance by using herbal remedies. In addition to having been used for generations, several studies have shown that herbal medicines have the potential to increase endurance.The purpose of this study was to describe the knowledge and usage of herbal medicines during the COVID-19 pandemic.This study using the purposive sampling method with one hundred respondents. Data were collected based on primary data using a google form questionnaire with univariate analysis. On Preliminary results are Most of respondents had pretty good knowledge in forty eight point eight percent, and jamu on sixty nine point five percent as the herbal medicine of choice, when pharmacies to get herbal medicines. Moreover, the implications are the knowledge of using herbal medicine during the COVID-19 pandemic is good and Jamu is the most used herbal medicine based of the types. This research will be continued with more samples to better represent the conclusions. Keywords: Knowledge, Usage, Herbal Medicines

Abstract

Abstrak: Tingginya tingkat kepadatan penduduk di Jakarta disertai iklim tropis menyebabkan Jakarta sebagai salah satu kota yang berpotensi sebagai wilayah dengan penderita Demam Berdarah Dengue (DBD) terbanyak di Indonesia. Penanganan DBD dapat menggunakan bahan alam seperti pepaya dan serai. Tujuan kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PkM) adalah untuk memberikan edukasi kepada warga di wilayah RW 10 Kelurahan Klender terkait pemanfaatan bahan alam asli Indonesia guna pencegahan dan pengobatan DBD. Kegiatan PkM dilaksanakan pada 26 April 2024 di Kantor Sekretariat RW 10 Kelurahan Klender yang dihadiri oleh 28 orang perwakilan warga dari beberapa RT. Evaluasi pengetahuan diukur dua tahap, yaitu pre-test dan post-test. Ada tidaknya peningkatan pengetahuan responden diukur menggunakan kuesioner pre-test dan post-test. Hasil pengolahan data kuesioner menunjukan adanya peningkatan pengetahuan responden setelah diadakannya penyuluhan sebesar 20,8%. Hal ini menunjukan bahwa tujuan kegiatan PkM telah tercapai.   Abstract: The high population density in Jakarta, coupled with its tropical climate, has made it one of the cities with the highest potential for Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DBD) cases in Indonesia. Treatment for dengue fever can involve the use of natural ingredients such as papaya and lemongrass. The aim of the Community Service (PkM) activities was to educate residents in the RW 10 Klender Village area about the use of native Indonesian natural ingredients for preventing and treating dengue fever. The PkM activity took place on April 26, 2024, at the RW 10 Secretariat Office in Klender Village, with 28 resident representatives from several RTs in attendance. Knowledge evaluation is measured in two stages, namely pre-test and post-test. The increase in respondents’ knowledge was measured using pre-test and post-test questionnaires. Data processing from the questionnaires revealed a 20.8% increase in respondents’ knowledge after the counseling session. This indicates that the PKM activities objecties were successfully achieved.
