Abstract

The influence of globalization does not only change the physical style of humans as a subject that responds to global influences. But in other aspects it is also affected, one of which is the aspect of social interaction in a homogeneous cultural space. This is a strategy for local policy makers to respond to this influence to continue to hold social interactions in the local religious culture space by holding the tradition of mapangkon or pangkonan in Hindu religion in the Cau Belayu Traditional Village, Marga District, Tabanan Regency. The power of globalization that requires humans to experience social mobility so that social interaction becomes tenuous, on the legitimacy of society, the implementation of the mapangkon tradition takes place to build and promote the resistance of communal social interactions. Keywords: Building Hindu People Interaction, Pangkonan Ceremony

Abstract

This paper describes comprehensive the communication that is communal in the form of community interaction in the ngedeblag tradition carried out by the people of Kemenuh Village as part of respect for tradition and maintaining the balance of the energy of the universe. The presence of modern life, does not necessarily only affect the life of urban communities which tend to be heterogeneous. However, through cultural and market expansion, massive economic growth, and social mobility, a civilization that can generalize all aspects of life can even form the individualistic and materialistic side of each individual. Uniquely, the presence of a tradition in the life of people in Bali can become a fortress for this form of generalization. As seen in Kemenuh society, it is related to the ngedeblag tradition which is believed to be part of a ritual to drive out evil spirits or negative forces, and to restore the balance of the great bhuwana. In ongoing observations, the tradition of ngedeblag is actually a reflection of the life of the communal community. This is indicated by the process of interaction through community communication patterns that occur from the beginning of preparation for the implementation of the ngedeblag tradition to the end of the tradition. Not only in the aspect of social interaction, the communication of this tradition also has implications for the next generations of the existence of the ngedeblag tradition as part of cultural heritage and understanding the expression or intent to be conveyed through the ngedebalag tradition. Keywords: Ngedeblag Tradition, Communal Communication, Modern Life

Abstract

The majority of Balinese are Hindu with the Khayangan Tiga concept driven by the Pakraman village customary institution. During the pandemic, the ceremony was limited by referring to the appeal from the regional and central government to tolerate not to gather more than 25 people. This phenomenon then becomes the basis for raising the issue of problems in this paper related to the form of increased synergy carried out by Hindu religious instructors with Prajuru, and what are the factors for increasing the synergy of prajuru and extension personnel. The form of this increase is through Dharma Wecana and Dharma Tula through the internet network, along with Dharma Wecana videos on YouTube. The factors for increasing synergy are the attitude of the community in the application of religious teachings and the increase in the potential of the extension agents, one of which is by increasing the extension officers from an academic and non-academic perspective. Keyword: synergy, extension workers, and Prajuru Adat

Abstract

Forests are sources of life that provide oxygen and sources of food for the survival of species on earth. The existence of forests is now increasingly worrying with the existence of deforestation and forest and land fires which cause damage to the forest. Various efforts have been made by the government, particularly the Indonesian government, to undertake ecological disasters related to forests. In the life of the Balinese Hindu community, there is a concept of forest preservation and protection known as the concept of Wana Kertih which is part of Sad Kertih. In the context of the relationship between the Balinese Hindu community and the forest, the Balinese Hindu people respect and purify the mountains and forests as the highest respect for Lord Shiva. In Bali, the forest, apart from having a general function as is well known, also has social, religious and cultural functions because forests are highly correlated with the religious ritual life of Balinese Hindus under the auspices of the Traditional Village. In the concept of Wana Kertih, there are three functions of forests to develop sustainable forests (wana asri), including: (1) maha wana (forest as a source of life); (2) tapa wana (forest as a spiritual means); (3) sri wana (forest as a means / source of the community's economy). The concept of Wana Kertih is arguably entrenched in the life of the Balinese Hindu community. This is evidenced by the implementation of the Wana Kertih concept in life of the Balinese Hindu community. Some forms of implementation of the Wana Kertih concept in life of the Balinese Hindu community include: (1) the existence of Tumpek Wariga / Tumpek Uduh; (2) the existence of the Alas Angker Temple; (3) the existence of large trees using saput poleng; and (4) there are regulations or awig-awig related to forest preservation and protection.

Abstract

Communication is needed in various professions that are engaged in by humans, including the profession of health workers. Communication carried out by health workers is therapeutic communication which aims to build a relationship of trust between health workers and patients in the process of handling the patient's illness. Therapeutic communication is not only done by modern health workers such as midwives, nurses, and doctors. However, health workers such as Balian Usada in Bali also use therapeutic communication to facilitate the communication process in handling and healing patients' illnesses. This research is a study of the phenomenon of therapeutic communication which is not only carried out by modern health workers but also by traditional health workers. In the process of collecting data, this research uses the method of literature study and document analysis related to the field of study, and is presented by means of interpretation and description analysis. From this research it can be seen that Balian Usada is a Balinese traditional healer who learns medicine consciously, either through Guru Waktera learning from Balinese medicine experts, or self-taught through Lontar Usada. Balian Usada has a professional ethics of Balian or Sesana Balian. Sesananing Balian is a code of ethics that is mandatory as a moral control for usada in carrying out their profession. Balian Usada builds patient trust and comfort through anamnesis. When the patient feels trust and comfort and the communication has gone both ways, Balian Usada then plans the patient's treatment according to the patient's complaints. Good and effective communication has a significant impact on the patient's recovery. Poor communication can be a problem in patient care. Developing easy communication is essential to reduce patient anxiety.  Keywords: Therapeutic Communication; Traditional Healer; Balian Usada
