Abstract

The Balinese Hindu community who believes in Shiva Siddhanta places Shiva in a hierarchical order as the highest ruler of the universe and its contents, as sourced from the teachings of iwatattwa, such as: Bhuanakosa, Wrhaspati Tattwa, Ganapati Tattwa, Jnana Siddhanta and Jnana Tattwa. The understanding that Shiva being the highest ruler results in esoteric and exoteric implications. This research article examines the religious esotericism and exotericism of the Balinese Hindu community in the construction of the Siwatattwa teachings as well as the various uniqueness in implementing the Vedic teachings. This research employs literature studies and a qualitative design examining the study of arguments or narratives from texts or books containing Shivatattwa teachings. Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that Shivatattwa teachings have imbued the religious construction of the Balinese Hindu community, which is implemented in Bhatara as a worship center, temples as places of worship, and tapak dara as a philosophy of life balance.key words: The Balines Hindu, Shiva, Siwatattwa

Abstract

Hindu theology from the beginning was different from classical theology. Where religion or divinity does not conflict with science. God is not placed in the sky but exists and permeates His creation. Such a conception of God would be difficult to understand in Western theology. In the text of Usana Bali, concrete and solution-based theology or divinity is implied, which is narrated through the mythology of Tirta Empul and the story of Mayadanawa. Where God in his manifestation as Dewa Indra becomes a liberating agent for the social problems of society. Eradicating the evil king Mayadanawa, providing prosperity through abundant water sources, and giving meaning to the Galungan holiday as an effort to improve the quality of life (winning the inner dharma). This research is a literature study, using the Usana Bali text as primary data. The purpose of this research is to explore theological teachings in a mythology, in order to develop the role and social values in it.Keywords: Mythology, Social Theology, Usana Bali

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of Hindu religious education teachers in instilling a philosophy of multicultural education for Hindu students at SMPN 2 Basarang, Kapuas Regency. Indonesia is a multicultural country consisting of different tribes, languages and religions. This diversity on the one hand is an advantage and wealth of the nation that must be maintained. But on the other hand, this diversity can be a potential for conflict in society. Therefore, an understanding of the nation's motto "Unity in Diversity" must be instilled in the younger generation from an early age so that they are able to play a role in maintaining unity amidst a pluralistic nation. one of the efforts that can be realized in response to this problem is to implement the concept of multicultural education in education in Indonesia. With the role of Hindu religious education teachers in instilling a philosophy of multicultural education for Hindu students, it is hoped that they can improve the quality of education and learning for Hindu students at SMPN 2 Basarang. As for educational institutions, it can later be used as a reference in providing education and learning based on multicultural education at SMPN 2 Basarang, Kapuas Regency.
