Abstract

Religious harmony and tolerance in the village of “Pancasila” Balun, Turi, Lamongan, East Java, is a lesson for the practice of religious moderation which needs to be learned and used as an example. All of studies that already exist, the principle of harmony and tolerance in Balun village is the result of nonformal education construction, even though talking about character building could not be divided from the role of formal educational institutions. This research is trying to complement the formal religious education institution which in this case is Madrasah Ibtidaiah (MI) Tarbiyatus Sibyan in establishing and strengthening religious moderation in the village of “Pancasila” Balun. This is a qualitative research with a formal object of religious moderation and the object of MI Tarbiyatus Sibyan. Data collection was done by literature study, interviews, and FGD with teachers and students of MI Tarbiyatus Sibyan. This research shows: (1) MI Tarbiyatus Sibyan was considering religious moderation as part of the local wisdom of the village that must be preserved and maintained; (2). MI Tarbiyatus Sibyan instilling insight into religious moderation in the learning process through the internal class activities and external by visiting the Jawi Wetan Balun Christian Church; and (3). MI Tarbiyatus Sibyan students was playing an important role in supporting socio-religious activities in Balun village. In summary, this study explains the contribution of formal education in which local wisdom can strengthen students' religious moderation insight. Therefore, it is necessary to develop formal educational institutions which defend local wisdom as part of the emphasis on the educational process in madrasas or schools.

Abstract

The existence of consumerism culture is hamful for a development rural's living such motivating people to consume more and more, beyond their a daily requirement. Seen from an economic factor, both a huge significant sea outcome and traditional market, Campurejo village was drawn an attraction to many traders. The problem is that there are many traders are danger for spritual dan social living: suggesting people to consume more and more. Such that challenge now faced by people of Campurejo, especially by education instituions Tarbiyatul Wathon, Pendidikan Muhammadiyah, TPQ Al-Hidayah and Al-Syafi'iyyah Bu Tarafah. This research combines both literary and field research. For best comprehensive result, this research equipped by some interviews and observations. The results show that moral education concept has critical implication to defence consumerism culture, it is show that people have an abbility to control which is not to consume more and more again, beside that moral education concept increases the spritual education which perceives as the real basic morality people. This research suggest for development strategy especially for rural living people how the moral education can be seen as shield for consumerism culture.

Abstract

In religious primary schools, nationalism education enhances students' patriotism. However, a common challenge in religious primary schools is the conflict between nationalist education and religious sectarianism. Achieving harmonious integration between nationalism and religious education can solve the problem. This study aims to comprehensively describe and analyze the integration strategy regarding nationalism and religious education employed at the Islamic Elementary School (SDI) Ar-Roudloh in Lamongan, East Java. This research, using a qualitative case study approach, reveals key findings: first, the integration of nationalism and religious education at Islamic Elementary Schools is manifested through a combined national and religious curriculum, including Independent, Cambridge, Tahfidh, and Qur'an curriculum; second, the success of this integration is facilitated by the active role of teachers both inside and outside the classroom in educating students; third, observations, interviews, and focus group discussions with teachers yield valuable insights into the integration model of nationalism and religious education. In summary, this research underscores the significance of a well-integrated curriculum to reinforce both nationalism and religious values among students effectively.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan: pertama, mengidentifikasi alasan pentingnya kesadaran multikultural beragama; kedua, memetakan pemikiran K.H. Abdurrahman Wahid tentang kesadaran multikultural dalam beragama; dan, ketiga, menganalisis pengaruh pemikiran multikultural K.H.Abdurrahman Wahid bagi kehidupan beragama di Indonesia. Penelitian menggunakan  pendekatan kualitatif-deskriptif,  yakni untuk menggambarkan pemikiran keagamaan KH. Abdurrahman Wahid tentang kesadaran multikulturalisme beragama. Hasil penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa: pertama, kesadaran multikultural beragama sangatlah penting bagi bangsa Indonesia akibat  globalisasi yang melahirkan kompleksitas dan multiplisitas permasalahan  dalam berbagai bidang kehidupan. Kedua,  pemikiran Gus Dur tentang kesadaran multikultural beragama dilandasi pandangannya tentang multikulturalisme itu sendiri, yang diartikannya sebagai pengakuan terhadap heterogenitas budaya, etnik, ras, agama dan gender. Pemikiran multikultural Gus Dur ini dapat dilihat dari beberapa aspek: karakteristik multikulturalisme, pribumisasi Islam, hubungan agama dam negara, demokratisasi, prinsip-prinsip humanisme dan pluralitas masyarakat, dan hubungan antara agama dan budaya. Ketiga, pemikiran multikultural Gus Dur memiliki pengaruh besar bagi kehidupan beragama di Indonesia. Pemikiran Gus Dur tentang nilai-nilai multikultural berimplikasi terhadap terciptanya kehidupan berbangsa, bernegara dan bermasyarakat Indonesia yang toleran, aman, adil, damai dan kasih sayang antar sesama.
