Abstract

In religious primary schools, nationalism education enhances students' patriotism. However, a common challenge in religious primary schools is the conflict between nationalist education and religious sectarianism. Achieving harmonious integration between nationalism and religious education can solve the problem. This study aims to comprehensively describe and analyze the integration strategy regarding nationalism and religious education employed at the Islamic Elementary School (SDI) Ar-Roudloh in Lamongan, East Java. This research, using a qualitative case study approach, reveals key findings: first, the integration of nationalism and religious education at Islamic Elementary Schools is manifested through a combined national and religious curriculum, including Independent, Cambridge, Tahfidh, and Qur'an curriculum; second, the success of this integration is facilitated by the active role of teachers both inside and outside the classroom in educating students; third, observations, interviews, and focus group discussions with teachers yield valuable insights into the integration model of nationalism and religious education. In summary, this research underscores the significance of a well-integrated curriculum to reinforce both nationalism and religious values among students effectively.

Abstract

In the realm of methodology of Islamic jurisprudence (ushul al-fiqh), qiyas, a method of deriving Islamic law, holds a prominent position. It entails analogizing a legal ruling from a situation devoid of explicit textual guidance (nash) to a situation with established textual guidance, based on the shared underlying cause (illat). This is a descriptive research with a philosophical approach. The type of research used is library research with primary data referring to the original source, namely the book of logic by Aristotle. While secondary data is taken from works containing Aristotelian logic. This study found that Imam al-Shâfi’i stands as the pioneer in formulating qiyas as a method of ijtihad (legal reasoning). His rigorous formulation of qiyas drew theoretical underpinnings from Aristotelian logic. The incorporation of Aristotelian logic into qiyas imbued the method with a strict and contrapositive nature, adhering to the principles of syllogistic logic. In syllogistic reasoning, the conclusion invariably follows from the major premise, which in qiyas is derived from the sacred text (the Quran). To overcome this intellectual stagnation, a burhani methodology, as championed by Ibn Rushd, Ibn Khaldun, Ibn Hazm, and al-Shâtibi, emerged. This methodology successfully established a liberal rational epistemology grounded in the spirit of burhani logic and contextualized Quranic interpretation.

Abstract

Conveying messages through the medium of an animated video in today's life has become a necessity. However, there are still pros and cons to animation as a medium. One of them is the Islamic religious view of this work because it is related to drawing behavior. This situation creates a dilemma for animators because on the one hand, this job is a job that is quite in demand with relatively high pay, while on the other hand, work as an animator is more related to drawing activities because in a hadith there is a prohibition against drawing. This article focuses on what is the role and function of animation in human life today? How does animation serve various positive purposes in various aspects of human life today from a maqasid sharia perspective? The important conclusion of this article is that animation provides a number of benefits in maintaining and applying maqasid sharia because it has great power to influence human thoughts currently using visual-based technology. Whereas animator is a profession that provides benefits in the field of visual-based Islamic education and preaching, 3. Understanding the hadith which prohibits drawing living creatures needs to be reinterpreted in the context of Muslim life today.

Abstract

This study responds to the growing challenges of violence, hierarchical abuse, gender-based discrimination, and radicalism in pesantren, which underscore the need for alternative educational frameworks grounded in compassion, inclusivity, and justice. It examines the Love-Based Curriculum as a conceptual and practical approach to strengthening Islamic boarding school education in Indonesia. Using a descriptive qualitative library research method, the study analyzes a wide range of academic and policy literature, including classical Islamic thought, national educational philosophy, and contemporary perspectives, to explore how love-based values can prevent violence and reinforce religious moderation. The core novelty of this research lies in its synthesis of three key perspectives Al-Ghazali’s ethical pedagogy, Ki Hajar Dewantara’s humanistic educational philosophy, and Abdurrahman Wahid’s (Gus Dur’s) peace-oriented thought into an integrated framework of the Love-Based Curriculum. The findings indicate that compassion, inclusivity, and justice function as foundational principles for addressing hierarchical abuse, gender-based violence, radicalism, and intolerance in pesantren. Overall, the study highlights the Love-Based Curriculum as a preventive and transformative model that supports child-friendly education and promotes religious moderation amid the spread of exclusivist narratives in the digital era. It recommends institutional support from pesantren leaders and policymakers, as well as further research on practical models of implementation across diverse educational contexts.
