Abstract

In an effort to reduce disaster risk, disaster management activities need to be implemented as part of people's daily lives. The disaster management paradigm that has developed is more focused on preventing risk from arising, namely at the pre-disaster stage or known as risk management. At this stage strengthening community capacity in dealing with disasters is a very important part. Strengthening community capacity can be established by increasing the active participation of the community in various disaster management activities in Peunayong village in Banda Aceh. Indonesia is an area with a fairly high level of disaster risk, especially on the island of Sumatra including Banda Aceh, because on the island of Sumatra, especially Banda Aceh is an area that often occurs earthquakes, this is because the territory of Indonesia is located between the four Eurasian plates, the Indo-Australian plate, the Philippine plate and the Pacific plate, earthquakes with a magnitude of 7 on the Richter Scale or more often occur in areas around the meeting between these plates, for example the earthquake accompanied by the tsunami in 2004 that hit Aceh, which resulted in many casualties, considering Indonesia's special territory Banda Aceh often experiences earthquakes, so training and counseling on disaster management (disaster mitigation) are needed for the people in Banda Aceh. This community service program is carried out so that the community can prepare themselves and add insight in dealing with disasters, namely by counseling and training the community on disaster management/disaster mitigation.

Abstract

The Lhoknga beach area is one of the areas in Aceh that has beautiful beaches and enormous potential for marine wealth, including turtles. This area is a paradise for turtles to lay their eggs. Turtles are reptiles living in the sea and whose existence has long been threatened by nature and human activities. Internationally, sea turtles are included in the 'red list' in the International Union for Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources (IUCN), which means that their existence in nature is threatened with extinction, so all forms of utilization and distribution must receive serious attention. Therefore, turtle conservation efforts are an essential and urgent program to protect and save turtle populations, especially in Indonesia because, in Indonesia, there are 6 out of 7 turtle species that still exist today. This activity has been completed at Lhoknga Beach by releasing 120 turtle hatchlings. It is hoped that this community service activity will be able to increase public awareness to participate together in preserving turtles and not hunting them anymore.

Abstract

Pengembangan Usaha Kecil Menengah (UKM) melalui pendekatan pemberdayaan usaha, perlu memperhatikan aspek sosial dan budaya di masing-masing daerah, mengingat usaha kecil dan menengah pada umumnya tumbuh dari masyarakat secara langsung. Provinsi Aceh merupakan provinsi yang kaya dengan kerajinan tradisional seperti tas bordir Aceh, dompet, baju bordir khas Aceh, mukena, jilbab, peci, dan lain-lain.  Unit usaha mitra yang dipilih dalam pelaksanaan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah Aceh Galeri Souvenir dan Pusaka Souvenir. .Keduanya merupakan perusahaan bidang kerajinan Aceh yang berkedudukan di Kota Banda Aceh. UKM tersebut mampu menghasilkan produk yang berpeluang ekspor atau yang secara tidak langsung dibawa keluar negeri yaitu negara Malaysia. Thailand, Amerika, Australia, Dubai, London, Afrika Selatan dan Singapura. Pembinaan dan Pengembangan yang dilakukan adalah dengan melakukan pembinaan/pembimbingan terhadap proses dan metode produksi agar lebih efektif melalui perencanaan stasiun kerja agar sesuai dengan karakter pekerja, kapasitas, alat dan ruang serta lingkungan kerja. Dalam kaitan dengan faktor ergonomi, dilakukan penataan ruang kerja.
