Abstract

The misuse of funds on the Kitabisa.com crowdfunding platform highlights major challenges in maintaining public trust, accountability, and business ethics within Indonesia’s fintech ecosystem. While the platform has facilitated social solidarity by connecting donors and recipients, cases of fund misuse indicate gaps in governance and oversight. This issue is particularly significant given the increasing popularity of crowdfunding-based fintech in Indonesia as part of digital financial innovation influenced by digital capitalism. This study aims to analyze the causes of fund misuse through the lenses of moral judgment, moral identity, and applicable regulations, while addressing the exploitative aspects of digital capitalism. This research employs a qualitative method with a case study approach. Data were collected through document analysis, including news articles, media reports, and academic literature. The findings reveal that weaknesses in recipients' moral judgment and moral identity, a lack of strict reporting mechanisms, and the pressures of digital capitalism are key factors contributing to fund misuse. Furthermore, Indonesia's crowdfunding regulation fails to provide adequate oversight of fund recipients, focusing more on platform operators, which opens opportunities for misuse by recipients. This study offers practical recommendations, including regulatory reinforcement, stricter sanctions, the development of moral education programs for recipients, and the integration of blockchain technology to ensure transparency. These findings are relevant for policymakers, platform developers, and the public in building a more ethical, transparent, and sustainable fintech ecosystem. Keywords: Fintech ethics, transparency, digital capitalism, morality, regulation.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of financial literacy, financial attitude, and self-control on financial management behaviour among Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in West Nusa Tenggara Province. The background of this study stems from the persistent challenges of weak financial management among MSMEs, often caused by low financial literacy and poor financial attitudes. The research employs a quantitative method with a survey approach, using structured questionnaires to collect data from MSME actors across various districts and cities in the region. To test the proposed hypotheses, the data were analysed using multiple linear regression analysis, which allowed for the examination of the simultaneous influence of the independent variables on financial management behaviour. The results indicate that financial literacy, financial attitude, and self-control each have a positive and statistically significant effect on financial management behaviour. Specifically, financial literacy enhances the ability of MSME actors to budget, maintain accurate records, and plan effectively, while a positive financial attitude and strong self-control facilitate better financial decision-making. These findings underscore the importance of enhancing financial education and promoting behavioural competencies to improve financial practices among MSMEs. The study offers valuable implications for policymakers, financial institutions, and MSME stakeholders in designing empowerment strategies that incorporate both financial knowledge and behavioural reinforcement.

Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) have great potential thanks to their unique cultural richness, yet they face major challenges in global market competition due to limited digital literacy and suboptimal promotional efforts. This study aims to understand how the application of digital marketing based on local wisdom can strengthen the product identity of NTB’s MSMEs and increase their competitiveness in the international market. Using a qualitative method through literature studies and in-depth interviews with MSME actors, digital marketing practitioners, and cultural figures, this research found that integrating cultural elements such as traditional motifs, product origin stories, and authenticity narratives into digital content can create unique product identities and build emotional connections with consumers. This strategy has proven effective in increasing social media engagement, adding value to products, and supporting the preservation of local culture. However, the main challenges still lie in low digital literacy, limited resources, and inconsistency in conveying cultural narratives. Therefore, this study recommends strengthening culturally based digital marketing training, multi-stakeholder collaboration, and authentic content strategies aligned with NTB’s cultural values as key factors for MSMEs to compete successfully in the era of globalization.

Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) are productive economic entities owned by individuals or private business entities that meet the criteria for micro, small, or medium enterprises. In practice, MSME actors face various challenges and issues frequently encountered in the development of MSMEs. This study aims to identify the opportunities and challenges in the development of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) from various economic aspects. The study is interested in examining the conditions of MSMEs that manage to survive under pressure, delving deeper into and providing an analysis of the challenges faced by MSMEs as well as the opportunities that can be leveraged to improve their performance, using a systematic literature review method. It is hoped that this study will provide further policy recommendations to enhance MSME strength as an opportunity and empower MSMEs in facing various challenges. The research findings indicate that Digital Marketing, Human Resources (HR), and Financial Literacy play crucial roles in creating markets and integrating into global supply chains. However, to ensure that the digital economy benefits MSME growth in Indonesia optimally, challenges such as limited access and technology infrastructure, as well as deficiencies in financial literacy, digital marketing, and human resources, need to be effectively addressed. MSMEs that can adapt to technological advancements and innovate their products will be able to compete with their rivals in the increasingly advanced digital economy.
