Abstract

Culture shock is a condition that can cause confusion to the environment with a new culture so that it can triggernegative emotions. Adjustment is a process that includes mental response and behavior, individuals trying to beable to successfully overcome the needs in themselves, tensions, conflicts and frustration they experience, so as torealize the level of harmony between demands from within with what expected by the environment. This studyaims to determine the relationship between adjustment and culture shock in NTT students in the early semester atWijaya Putra University. The hypothesis in this study is that there is a significant relationship between selfadjustment and culture shock. The number of samples used is 50 respondents. The sampling technique used in thisstudy was purposive incidental sampling. Measuring instruments used were culture shock scale questionnaire 32items and adjustment items scale 59 items. Data were analyzed using product moment analysis. The analysisshows the value (rxy) = -0.652 with p = 0.000 (p <0.05), meaning that there is a negative relationship betweenadjustment and culture shock ie the lower the level of adjustment, the higher the level of culture shock in NTTstudents in the early semester in Wijaya Putra University.

Abstract

This research aims to find out if there is a link between anxiety and optimism of the people of Surabaya in the face of the Covid-19 outbreak. Covid-19 pandemic is not finished until now, cases every day are increasing which causes anxiety in the community. Covid-19 is considered an unpleasant situation and conditions and can affect one's optimism to be able to cope with the condition. This research was conducted online to all surabaya people using purposive sampling with criteria: aged 18 years and above, male gender and downsizing and settled in Surabaya during the Covid-19 pandemic.The number of research samples as many as 400 people. The data collection tool in the form of an anxiety questionnaire consists of 37 points and optimism of 10 items using the Revised Test Life Orientation Scale (LOT-R). Data analysis is performed with simple non linear regression statistical techniques with the help of the SPSS 21.00 for Windows program. From the data analysis obtained the t count value is -1,984 with a sig value. value of 0.040 < 0.05. This indicates a negative link between anxiety and optimism. This means that the higher the anxiety, the lower the optimism of the people of Surabaya in the face of Covid-19 and the lower the anxiety, the higher the optimism of the people of Surabaya in the face of Covid-19.

Abstract

Penanganan untuk pencegahan munculnya bullying yang selama ini dilakukan masih kurang efektif. Maka perlu dilakukan psikoedukasi yang dalam hal ini dengan memberdayakan siswa-siswi yang terlibat dalam OSIS yang nantinya dapat menjadi kader dalam pencegahan terjadinya kasus bullying di lingkungan sekolah. Permasalahannya, yaitu pemberdayaan OSIS sebagai agent of bullying prevention belum efektif, kurangnya pemahaman masing-masing siswa yang menjadi anggota OSIS tentang dinamika bullying; kurangnya kepekaan dari siswa (anggota OSIS) terhadap lingkungannya, sehingga jika ada perilaku yang kurang tepat seperti membentak, mendorong bahkan mungkin memukul teman masih dianggap wajar, minimnya edukasi yang dilakukan oleh pihak sekolah terkait bullying. Tujuannya yaitu para kader OSIS memahami dinamika bullying, dapat menjadi agent of bullying prevention yang efektif di lingkungan sekolah, termotivasi untuk mencegah terjadinya kekerasan dalam wujud apapun di lingkungan sekolah, mampu merancang kegiatan-kegiatan yang berkaitan dengan psikoedukasi bullying terhadap seluruh siswa bahkan warga sekolah. Metode pelaksanaan yang digunakan dalam program ini melalui psikoedukasi, pelatihan diantaranya memberikan pemahaman mengenai dinamika bullying terkait karakteristik, jenis, faktor pemicu, dampak, dll, merancang workbook yang dapat digunakan kader OSIS sebagai guideline dalam melakukan psikoedukasi kepada siswa dan warga sekolah. Hasilnya beberapa siswa lebih memahami dinamika bullying secara detail terutama terkait efek yang ditimbulkan sehingga lebih peka terhadap sekelilingnya.
