Abstract

Experiments on the effect of river sludge on the growth and production of rice tolerant of organic acids poisoning phenolics in peat rice fields were carried out in Kenagarian Ketaping, sub-district Lembah Anai, district Padang Pariaman from October 2015 to January 2016 with the aim of knowing the interaction of river mud and acid-tolerant rice varieties organic acids phenolics in peat soil. The experiment was carried out in a randomized block design with the first factor being 3 river mud that were different locations, namely River Mud located 0.5 km from the estuary, river mud affected by sea water 2.0 km from the estuary, and river mud unaffected by eea water 4 km from the estuary, while the second factor is 3 rice varieties tolerant to organic acids tolerance toxic phenolics and 4 replicatons. The experimental results show that river mud can increase the growth and production of rice tolerant of organic acids to poison phenolics in peat rice fields with the highest production obtained in the Sunting Bungo Durian variety followed by Randah Kuning and then Cisokan Kuning varieties.

Abstract

Experiment was aimed to investigate the test growth and production of several rice variety with system rice of intensification on distance difference. Experiment was conducted in farmer land of Jorong Kampung Jambu Kenagarian Bayua, Tanjung Raya of Agam District, from April to August 2008. Experiment was conducted using random completed design of two factors. First factor was four applications of rice variety, mean while second factor was two distance difference. The results revealed that an addition of combination variety Cisadane with distance 10 cm give high success rate to growth and production, with yield 8.6 ton/ha

Abstract

Percobaan bertujuan mengetahui respon varietas jagung manis (Zea mays Saccharata Sturt.) terhadap Trichokompos tandan kosong kelapa sawit pada ultisol. Percobaan dilakukan di Lagan Hilir Punggasan, Kecamatan Linggo Sari Baganti, Kabupaten Pesisir Selatan dari 2024-2025.  Percobaan dilakukan menggunakan rancangan acak kelompok faktorial dengan faktor pertama adalah varietas jagung manis yakni varietas paragon, bonanza dan super sweet dan faktor kedua adalah Trichokompos tandan kosong kelapa sawit 4 dosis yakni 0, 5, 10 dan 15 ton ha-1.  Hasil percobaan menunjukan respon varietas jagung manis terhadap STrichokompos tandan kosong kelapa sawit. Respon jagung varietas Paragon, Bonanza, dan Super Sweet memperlihatkan keragaman pertumbuhan, keragaman komponen hasil dan hasil pada ultisol.  Dosis Trichokompos TKKS yang tepat terhadap varietas Paragon dan Bonanza adalah 5 ton ha-1, dan  dosis trichokompos TKKS terhadap varietas Super Sweet adalah 10 ton ha-1 pada ultisol.

Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui respon varietas kacang tanah (Arachis hypogaea L) terhadap pupuk cair limbah industri tahu. Percobaan ini telah dilakukan di Kelurahan Kalumbuk, Kecamatan Kuranji Kota Padang, Sumatra Barat dari Maret sampai Juni 2022. Percobaan menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok dengan 2 faktor. Faktor pertama terdiri dari 4 varietas kacang tanah yakni garuda, takar 2, tigo ampek, dan duo. Faktor kedua adalah konsentrasi pupuk cair limbah industri tahu terdiri dari 3 taraf yakni 0, 400 dan 800 ml L-1. Data hasil pengamatan disidik ragam dan diuji F taraf 0,05. Apabila terdapat pengaruh nyata dilanjutkan dengan uji DNMRT. Hasil percobaan menunjukkan bahwa terjadi respon varietas kacang tanah yakni (1) interaksi varietas kacang tanah dan konsentrasi POC limbah tahu berpengaruh nyata terhadap bobot polong kering per plot yaitu 505,33 g dan bobot polong kering per hektar yaitu 3,37 ton, (2) varietas kacang tanah dengan produksi tertinggi didapat pada varietas Takar 2, (3) POC limbah tahu dapat meningkatkan pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman kacang tanah dengan dosis terbaik 400 ml/L.

Abstract

The experiment was aimed to determine the most suitable method for selection of salt-tolerant, and to investigate the agronomic characteristics of salt-tolerant rice variety.  Two experiments were conducted to study the tolerance of 18 varieties to salt: 1) in situ screening of salt-tolerant varieties using completely randomized design, and 2) screening of salt-tolerant varieties using factorial experiment (varieties and salinity) with completely randomized design. The experiment showed that screening of rice variety that tolerant and sensitive to salt stress can be determined by comparing root dry weights in salt stressed condition and in unstressed condition, and in term of agronomical aspect, salt stress-tolerant rice showed good growth when planted in the saline field.   Key words: Screening, rice, swamp areas and salt stress

Abstract

The utilization of acid mineral soil often faces the problem of Al toxicity and low available P. The efforts to improve root function and neutralize the effect of high available Al are becoming important for increasing the growth of legumes, particularly as the cover crops at the plantation on acid soil. This research was aimed to find the effect of VA mycorrhyza inoculation, rhizobium, and humic acid on the growth and nutrient content of four different legume species. It was a three factor factorial experiment arranged in a completely randomized design with three replications. The first factor was four legume species: Calopogonium mucunoides, CaloPogonium ceurelieum, Centrosema pubescens and Puerari  iavanica the second factor was four different inoculants: none (M0), MVA (M1), rhizobium (Mz), MVA + rhizobium (M3); the third factor was two rates of humic acid application: without (Ho) and with humic acid (H1) The results proved the positive effect of those three factors on the growth of shoot and roots. The responses of root growth on microorganism inoculations and humic acid were different among the legume cover crop species. The role of humic acid was significantly better if there was a synergism between MV A and rhizobium. Key words: Mycorrhyza, Rhizobium, Humic acid, Legume cover crop

Abstract

The screening of aluminum (Al) tolerant upland rice variety was studied with the objectives were: (1) to determine the most suitable method for selection of aluminum-tolerant upland rice variety and 2) to investigate the agronomic characteristics and the physiological adaptation mechanisms of aluminum-tolerant upland rice variety. The experiment was undertaken in two steps: 1) Screening of upland rice varieties which tolerant to Al stress using completely randomized design, and 2) screening of aluminum-tolerant varieties through factorial experiment with complete randomized design. The experiment showed that 1) screening of upland rice variety that tolerant and sensitive to aluminum stress can be administered by comparing root dry weights in aluminum stressed condition and in unstressed condition, 2) in term of agronomical aspect, aluminum stress-tolerant upland rice shows good growth, and the higher level of aluminum tolerance seems to have emanated from efficient NO3-, NH4+, and Ca2+ metabolism. Upland rice varieties recommended for cultivation in upland mineral acid area include Pandak Putih, Mulut Harimau, Kuning, Rantau Mudiak Kelabu, Towuti, and Sedane Tinggi.Keywords: aluminum, Ca2+, NH4+, NO3-, uptake

Abstract

The experiment was aimed to investigate the Al-tolerant mechanisms physiology of legume cover crops species related to metabolism NO3 - , NH4 + , and N02 - . The results revealed that an addition of Al had less effect on Al-tolerant species compared to Al-sensitive in term of reduction in NO3 - , NH4 + and N02 - uptake. The reduction in Nitrit of the Al-tolerant species under Al treatment was less than in Al-sensitive species. The results suggested that in tolerant legume cover crops species, the higher level of Al tolerance seems to have emanated from efficient NO3 - metabolism and the higher N02 - to NH4 + .

Abstract

Corn is a highly adaptable plant and can be cultivated in various soil fertility conditions.  Testing of corn varieties on hemic peat soils and while maintaining hydrological function is still very limited so that there is a void of information about corn varieties tolerant of toxic organic acids in hemic peat soils. The purpose of the experiment was to determine the growth, production and tolerance of corn varieties on hemic peat soils. The experiment was conducted using a complete randomized design by testing 4 varieties of corn namely Pioneer 23, NK 22, Bisi 18 and Pertiwi 3 repeated 5 times.  The experimental results showed that the Bisi 18 corn variety and Pertiwi 3 variety with production of 7.66 and 7.68 t ha-1 respectively.showed greater STI in hemik peat rice fields with high levels of toxic organic acids than STI Pioneer 23 variety and NK 22 variety with production of 7.48 and 7.53 t ha-1 respectively.
