Abstract

Biochar is an organic material instantly made by burning wood into charcoal by pyrolysis, which can meet the high demand for an organic material that cannot be available in a short time. The study aimed to determine the effect of biochar and Chromolaena odorata liquid fertilizer (CLF) enriched with Sodium bicarbonate on soil pH and Muskmelon (Cucumis melo L.) productivity. The research was conducted from December to February 2019 at the field station of Tamansiswa University, Padang. The study was carried out in a factorial experiment with 2 treatment factors arranged in a Completely Randomized Design, consisting of three replications within treatments. The data obtained were analyzed using the F test at 5%, followed by the Least Significant Difference (LSD) test at 5%. The results showed that there was an interaction effect of Biochar and CLF application on reducing the soil pH. Among all treatments, the application of 2 t.Ha-1 biochar combined with 50 ml.L-1 CLF + 0 g.L-1 sodium bicarbonate resulted in the highest growth rate and yield of muskmelon in Ultisols soil.

Abstract

Indonesia imports up to 70% of its domestic soybean needs from abroad. Therefore, it is necessary to increase soybean yields in Indonesia, among others, by providing Liquid Organic Fertilizer (LOF). The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of LOF enriched with Trichoderma sp. on the yield of Mutiara-1 soybean in Ultisol. The experiment was conducted on dry land with a pH of 4.66 (acidic) in Kuranji Village, Kuranji District, Padang. The experiment was arranged in a factorial completely randomized design consisting of two factors, including the dose of Trichoderma sp. and the type of LOF. The doses of Trichoderma sp. inoculants were 0, 1, and 2 kg for every 20 kg of fermented LOF main ingredients. The main ingredients of LOF used in this experiment were Chromolaena odorata, Tithonia diversifolia, and Trichoderma sp. Meanwhile, the type of LOF tested was according to the composition of the main ingredients, consisting of no LOF, Crocober, and Tithocroco. The data obtained were analyzed using ANOVA and continued with the LSD test at a 5% significance level. The results showed that the addition of 2 kg of Trichoderma sp. inoculants to Tithonia + C. odorata (Tithocroco) resulted in the highest dry seed production, reaching 3.17 tons ha-1 or an increase of 38.42% compared to those without LOF.

Abstract

Pertanian konvensional dengan menggunakan pestisida kimia telah menimbulkan dampak negatif terhadap lingkungan dan tingginya residu pada hasil pertanian. Salah satu alternatif untuk mengurangi penggunaan pestisida kimia adalah dengan agen hayati yaitu rizobakteri. Rizobakteri merupakan bakteri yang hidup disekitar perakaran tanaman dan telah diketahui mampu meningkatkan pertumbuhan, hasil dan ketahanan tanaman terhadap hama dan penyakit. Pengabdian kepada masyarakat telah dilakukan di Nagari Alahan Panjang, Kecamatan Lembah Gumanti, Kabupaten Solok, Sumatera Barat yang merupakan salah satu sentra produksi sayuran. Pengabdian ini bertujuan memberikan informasi kepada masyarakat petani dengan penyuluhan dan denplot tentang manfaat rizobakteri sebagai agen hayati yang juga dapat meningkatkan pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman bawang merah.  Metode percobaan menggunakan Rancangan acak lengkap dengan tiga perlakuan yaitu tanpa rizobakteri, Bacillus pumilus strain TSH22w dan Pseudomonas geniculata strain XJUHX-19 yang terdiri dari 5 ulangan. Hasil percobaan menunjukkan kedua jenis rizobakteri mampu meningkatkan pertumbuhan, hasil dan ketahanan tanaman terhadap penyakit hawar daun bakteri serta mengurangi aplikasi pestisida kimia.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The study of influence organic manure to save the fertilizer to get yield of rice (Oriza sativa L.) at system plant SRI have been conducted at paddy soil at Manggindo Jorong Sangkir Kenagarian Lubuk Basung Province West Sumatra in the year 2009. Target was to get measuring fertilize able to be economized by using organic manure to increase result of rice field paddy in conducting of SRI.  Attempt used Complete Random Design (RAL), with treatment of comparison of thrift of usage of fertilizer with addition of organic manure 6 treatment and 4 times restating, so that there were 24 attempt plot. As for fertilizer and organic manure which used in this research [is] : 200 kg/ ha Urea, 100 kg / ha SP-36, 50 kg / ha MOP and 10.000 Sink / ha Compost hay + cage manure ( v / v). The treatment [is] : 100% Manure Made in without organic manure ( A); 100% manure made in + 100% organic manure ( B); 75% manure made in + 100% organic manure ( C); 50% manure made in + 100% organic manure ( D); 25% manure made in + 100% organic manure ( E); and 100% organic manure without manure made in ( F). Data of Disidikragam, if F [count/calculate] bigger than real F level 5% continued with Test of Duncan New Method of Range Test ( DNMRT) [at] real level 5% by using program of SPSS 15. Perception for example is a. High [of] crop, Amount of anakan per clump, Amount of productive anakan per clump, Amount of productive anakan, length of Malai, Amount of shell of rice per malai,. Amount of shell of rice of bernas per malai, wight 1000 seed, dry Production shell of rice per plot and per hectare. Best result obtained from treatment with [gift/ giving] of manure made in 100% with organic manure 100% with production rate of gabak dry equal to 5, 05 ton / Ha. Boundary thrift of usage of manure made in with addition of organic manure able to be lenient by paddy of IR42 to obtain;get result of maximal [at] this research [is] treatment that is 25% manure made in + 100% organic manure. Key words:  SRI, organic manure, saving fertilizer

Abstract

The objective of the study was to obtain the proper concentration of POC Unitas Super on the optimal growth and yield of local cayenne pepper (Capsicum frutescens L.). The experiment was conducted at Kanagarian Toboh Gadang, Padang Pariaman, from July to October 2017. The location is at 20 m asl, and is 10 km from the district capital, in the dry land of latosol soil type. The tools used are the hoe, stand, rope, bucket, analytical scale, meter, rake, and stationery. Materials needed include; local cayenne pepper seedlings result from propagation of local cayenne pepper seeds, POC Unitas Super (US) obtained from Faculty of Agriculture Universitas Tamansiswa Padang. NPK Compound Fertilizers (15-15-15) are given 50% recommendation, and manure as much as 5 ton ha-1. The experiment was conducted using Completely Randomized Design, with 5 treatment of POC concentration ie; P0 (0 ml L-1); P1 (25 ml L-1); P2 (50 ml L-1) and P3 (75 ml L-1), replicate 4 times, so there were 20 experimental units. The data obtained were analyzed statistically by using F (ANOVA) test of 5% real level if the treatment had the significant effect on BNT further test (smallest real difference) at 5% level. The parameters observed were; plant height, number of branches, the diameter of plant canopy, the age of flowering, the yield of cayenne pepper. The giving of 50 ml of L-1 POC Unitas Super every 2 weeks is the optimum concentration to increase the growth and yield of cayenne pepper (Capsicum frutescens L.). The production of cayenne pepper produced reached 5.55 kg plot-1 or equal to 55.50 tons ha-1.

Abstract

Padi ungu Black Madras merupakan varietas padi yang masih belum banyak dibudidayakan dan dikonsumsi di Indonesia. Salah satu keunggulan padi ini adalah kadar gulanya rendah, sehingga cocok dikonsumsi oleh penderita diabetes dan sakit jantung. Pemberian pupuk sangat berpengaruh terhadap pertumbuhan, kehampaan dan hasil tanaman, termasuk padi ungu Black Madras. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian pupuk cair Chromolaena odorata dan kalium dalam menekan kehampaan dan meningkatkan hasil padi ungu Black Madras. Percobaan dilakukan di Kelurahan Lubuk Lintah Kota Padang dengan ketinggian tempat ± 20 m dpl. Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Kelompok Lengkap Teracak (RKLT) Faktorial 3 ulangan. Perlakuan terdiri dari pupuk cair C.odorata dengan konsentrasi 0, 25 dan 50 ml L-1 serta pupuk KCl (60% K2O) dengan taraf 0, 50, 100 dan 150 kg ha-1.  Hasil percobaan menunjukkan bahwa pemberian 25 ml L-1 pupuk cair C. odorata efektif dalam menekan kehampaan padi hingga 55%.  Pemberian pupuk kalium sebanyak 100 kg ha-1yang diiringi dengan 25 ml L-1 PCCO  memberikan hasil GKP tertinggi yaitu 7,88 kg ha-1.

Abstract

Experiments on the influence of NPK fertilizers and citronella pesticides nano on the growth and yield of red chili (Capsimum annuum L.) were carried out on dry land in Korong Pasar Baru village, Nansabaris District, Padang Pariaman Regency, West Sumatra from February - June 2020. The research objective was to determine the interaction of NPK fertilizer and citronella pesticide on growth, yield and disease attack rates in red chilies. The experiment used a randomized block design (RBD) with two factors. The first factor was the dosage of NPK fertilizer consisting of 3 levels, namely: 0 kg/ha, 100 kg/ha, and 150 kg/ha. The second  factor is the concentration of citronella pesticide nano, namely: 0 ml/L, 3 ml/L, 6 ml/L and 9 ml/L. Based on the results of the experiment, it can be concluded that NPK fertilizers and citronella pesticides can increase the growth and yield of chili plants and suppress curly disease 83.4%.

Abstract

The development of the Agroindustrial Area is directed to Dua Koto District, Pasaman Regency. Dua Koto Subdistrict has superior commodities to be developed for food crops, horticulture, plantations, and industrial plants. Potato plants are horticultural crops and are able to live well in highland locations (>800 m asl), as well as coffee plantations, areca nut, and citronella can grow well from the middle to the highlands. Oil palm and rubber plantations turned out to be unprofitable. The purpose of the activity was to analyze soil and environmental conditions on the potential for the development of biodiversity for several superior products to reach the agro-industrial area. This research activity was carried out using survey methods and interviews with the community and village officials. From the results of the discussion, it was concluded that Oxisol and Ultisol soil types in the Cubadak village, Dua Koto sub-district, which are in the highlands (> 800 m asl) is suitable for potato development with the addition of sufficient organic matter and artificial fertilizers. Oil palm and rubber plants will be not recommended to be planted or included in the agroforestry pattern in the highlands, because they are not suitable for agro-climatic conditions. It is necessary to develop coffee plants in an agroforestry pattern as well as intercropping with potato plants. Planting distance of 50 x 50 cm citronella plants, with a selling price of Rp. 165,000/kg of fresh material, Feasibility reaches 18.68, with an average profit of Rp. 7,808,333,-/month/ha. There needs to be an efficient spacing of citronella plants with cutting slope planting techniques, so that the production per hectare can exceed the average product in Indonesia, to reach an agro-industrial area.

Abstract

Setiap varietas bawang merah berbeda interaksinya pada konsentrasi Kalium (K) baik terhadap pertumbuhan atau produksi. Kalium merupakan unsur makro yang dibutuhkan tanaman bawang merah, namun konsentrasi yang tepat belum diketahui sehingga diperlukan penelitian barbagai taraf konsentrasi K: 2 ml/liter, 3 ml/liter dan 4 ml/liter pada 4 varietas: Singkil Gajah, Medan, Cirebon, dan Bima. yang ingin dicapai. Pemberian konsentrasi pupuk kalium 2, 3 dan 4 ml/L memperlihatkan bobot umbi kering tidak pengaruh nyata, berturut turut bobot umbi kering adalah 14.00; 14.27 dan 13.82 t/ha. Berdasarkan kesimpulan disarankan untuk Menggunakan Varietas Singkil Medan Dengan perlakuan 2 ml/L pupuk kalium.
