Abstract

Educating children is a must for parents, because parents are responsible to God. Parents cannot make busy work an excuse for not educating their children in God, and regard it as the duty and responsibility of the school and church. Being a parent means taking on a great responsibility, namely educating children in all aspects. This responsibility is not something that is easily delegated to other parties, such as schools or churches, but is something that is integral to the life of every parent. The growth and development of children's knowledge will depend on the role of parents. This article tries to provide an understanding regarding the main role of parents in educating children based on the book of Deuteronomy 6:4-9. First, parents introduce God to their children through teaching, secondly teach God's commands repeatedly and thirdly, become an example in loving God. This article uses descriptive qualitative research with a literature and biblical text approach and focuses on discussing the role of parents in educating children based on Deuteronomy 6:4-9.

Abstract

Abstract

Learning media play a vital role in creating engaging and effective learning experiences. Among the various media used in education, songs serve as an appealing audio medium that helps students learn through enjoyment and emotion. This study aims to describe the use of songs as a learning medium in Christian Religious Education (CRE) at Hurung 1 Public Elementary School, Pulang Pisau Regency, Kalimantan Tengah. Using a qualitative descriptive method, data were collected through observation, interviews, and document analysis. The findings show that songs are used at three stages of the learning process: at the beginning to build interest and connect with the topic, in the middle as a learning resource to deepen understanding, and at the end as a reflection tool to strengthen moral and spiritual values. The use of songs enhances students’ enthusiasm, focus, and comprehension, while also assisting teachers in delivering Christian values effectively. In conclusion, songs serve as an effective pedagogical medium that integrates emotional, cognitive, and spiritual dimensions in Christian Religious Education.

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the efforts of the Christian Religious Education teacher in using short-film audiovisual media to teach Grade V students at SDN 6 Pahandut and to identify the supporting and inhibiting factors influencing its implementation. The study employed a qualitative descriptive approach involving the Christian Religious Education teacher and Grade V students as research participants selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through classroom observations, semi-structured interviews, and documentation. The data were analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña, consisting of data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing, while the credibility of the findings was ensured through source and technique triangulation. The findings revealed that the teacher made systematic efforts by planning lessons carefully, selecting appropriate short-film audiovisual media, facilitating classroom discussions, encouraging student reflection, and relating biblical teachings to students' daily experiences. These instructional practices enhanced students' learning motivation, classroom participation, understanding of biblical values, and Christian character development. The study also identified several supporting factors, including the teacher's pedagogical competence, the availability of technological facilities, school support, collaborative professional practices, and students' enthusiasm for multimedia learning. The study concludes that the effective use of short-film audiovisual media in Christian Religious Education depends not only on the availability of technology but also on teachers' instructional competence, creativity, careful lesson planning, and continuous institutional support to create meaningful, student-centered, and technology-enhanced learning experiences.

Abstract

Amid rapid digital transformation, Christian education encounters a fundamental yet often overlooked challenge: the disruption of faith internalization processes. Values that are taught no longer automatically translate into students’ character and spirituality, resulting in a gap between theological understanding and everyday practice. This study aims to examine the nature of Christian education as a process of character and spiritual formation in the digital era, identify its key challenges, and propose a relevant and integrative pedagogical framework. This research adopts a qualitative approach using a literature review method, employing descriptive-analytical techniques to examine various scholarly sources. The findings indicate that Christian education should be understood as a holistic formation process encompassing stages of internalization, habituation, and transformation. This process must be supported by reflective pedagogy, authentic role modeling, and contextual engagement with digital technology. Furthermore, the study reveals that digital disruption can be transformed into a constructive opportunity when meaningfully integrated into the learning process. The novelty of this research lies in the development of an integrative model that bridges theological, pedagogical, and technological dimensions, while emphasizing collaboration among schools, families, and churches. Therefore, Christian education needs to be contextually reconstructed to remain relevant and effective in fostering character and spiritual formation in the digital age.

Abstract

Background. Reflecting Pancasila in research world not necessarily discussing Indonesian citizenship as a civil society, these discourses widened to theological settings, particularly scriptural texts that are often used as sermons in pulpits. Indonesian ideological issues encountering Christianity have flowed and led to the entanglement of structural issues. Purpose. The aim of research was to explore the threads of nationalism in Pancasila, specifically crossing over with Christian values. Method. Based on qualitative research, researchers searched data through previous writings relevant to Pancasila, education, scriptural texts and their history. Results. Results showed that Christianity has brought goodness news not just limited to Christians, but also brought light for the world as reflections of socialist human beings. It must be understood that Indonesian nationalism is nationalism that rejects all forms of discrimination, oppression, injustice, and denial of divine values, as contained in Pancasila. Conclusion. Citizens have four main roles in the nation and state, namely as iron stock, social by control, agent of change, and also moral force. Those four main roles in running the life of the state are certainly not at all contradictory to Christianity. By performing these four roles, Christians show the quality of their Christian faith by becoming good citizens.
