Abstract

This study is aimed at identifying airfoils by mimicking the curved shape of the wings of a flying animal. This interferes with what people did in ancient times to obtain objects capable of flying. The animal profile selected was the Coconut Beetle (Rhinkoporus Rhigidoporus). The wings were divided into nine pieces and made a wing model with a chord size of 15 cm, a length of 45 cm and tested in a subsonic force draft wind tunnel with a test section measuring 45 x 45 x 100 cm3. Tests are carried out to measure the length of flow separation on the upper surface of the airfoil at Reynolds and the different angles of attack of the airfoil. The China Clay method was used to determine the separation point on the airfoil surface, and the test results obtained various separation points for different angles of attack and Reynolds number.

Abstract

In the sector of freshwater fish breeding, many fish are found dead suddenly. The cause of the  fish death suddenly can occur due to toxic water or low oxygen content in the water. In Maninjau Lake, fish died suddenly because of low oxygen content in the water. The low oxygen content in water is caused by increased ammonia from food waste and fish feces. Results in active bacteria and metamolizes by absorbing oxygen in the water.  One way to overcome this is to react with a biofilter reactor. In operation, the reactor is given an inlet debit of 1 to 3 lt / min for the test material and the inlet is worth 10 to 20 lt / min. The highest reactor effectiveness is at the debit of test material  2 lt / min and the debit of air15 lt / min. It is characterized by changes in the pH of water that returns to normal.

Abstract

An analysis has been carried out on designing a 60 MVA 150 kV transformer cooling chamber vacuum system. The transformer cooling chamber is vacuumed up to a pressure of 0.001 kPa. This is done to avoid the formation of gas bubbles, avoid condensation and sterilize the transformer chamber before filling the coolant. Therefore, we need a vacuum pump and other equipment called a vacuum system. The analysis of the vacuum system includes the work required by the system, vacuum time, and electrical energy. The design wllii uses a rotary pump and a root pump by varying the number of pumps with two, three, and four pumps. The results of the analysis show that the work that must be done by the design is the largest and the vacuum time is the least in the design that uses 2 pumps with a value of 2860.38 Kj and 39.31 hours. While the effective electrical energy is found in a design that uses 3 pumps. It can be concluded that an effective design is found in the design using 3 pumps. From the tests carried out in the field for the design of 3 pumps there is a difference of 5.3 hours and 38.31 kWh compared to the theoretical test.

Abstract

Overhaul activity is one periodic maintenance by the company to recondition production equipment in order tooperate with high avaibility and realibility. Overhaul activities can also be referred to as project based on a series of work that occirs unique, complex, done in a certain period of time and resources. This factory overhaul project must be completed on time, according to quality and cost as well as zero accident. In connection with the condition of the Covid-19 pandemic, the work is carried out with the Covid-19 health protocol so that ts doesnot become a source of new spread. In this paper will be discussed the implementation of the overhaul of theplant Indarung VI Year 2020 in the pandemic, starting from the stages of planning, preparation, implementation and evaluation (feedback). The realization of work time experienced delays of 2,68 days, quality according to standards and with the realization of a greater cost of Rp. 2.22 Billion. During the overhaul project there were 3 cases of work accidents and there were no additional cases of Covid-19 in the workforce involved in the project.

Abstract

Masalah lingkungan menjadi perhatian utama di dalam pertumbuhan ekonomi dunia. Terdapat kaitan erat antara lingkungan dengan produksi, dan ekonomi. Isu-isu pemanasan global menjadi isu sentral, dan mengancaman kegiatan ekonomi, produksi dan pertumbuhan ekonomi sebuah negara. Sistem ekonomi saat ini telah berubah, dan terbentuk sistem ekonomi baru yang berbasis kepada lingkungan dan kehendak konsumen. Proses pembangunan yang dijalankan pemerintahpun harus berubah, dan mengarah kepada pembangunan yang berkelanjutan. Demikian juga dengan proses produksi barang-barang harus mengarah kepada sistem bekerlajuntan. Sistem ekonomi yang masih memakai cara yang lama akan menghadapi hambatan, dan halangan. Dengan sendirinya pembangunan dan pertumbuhan ekonomi sebuah negara akan melambat. Tatatan ekonomi baru terbentuk dimana-dimana setiap rencana pembangunan harus berkelanjutan. Isu-isu lingkungan menjadi isu utama, dalam sistem produksi barang. Tidak ada jalan lain bari Pemerintah, dan badan usaha yang mengembangkan produksi dari bahan  alam dan tergantung kepada kondisi alam untuk memenuhi tuntuntan ekonomi baru tersebut. Bagaimanapun tuntutan ekonomi tersebut akan berubah menjadi tuntutan politik, dan akan membuat regulasi-regulasi pembatasan perdagangan antar negara-negera. Sementara Indonesia sangat tergantung kepada sumber daya alam dan mengembangkan produksinya dengan menggunakan bahan alam dan kondisi alam. Sebagai akibatnya perekonomian Indonesia akan melambat, dan produksi berbagai industri akan terhambat.Kata kunci : pemanansan global; industri, kelapa sawit, pembangunan berkelanjutan

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengimplementasikan E-voting dalam bentuk dashbord untuk membantu Komisi Pemilihan Umum Mahasiswa (KPUM) dalam Pemilu Presiden BEM di STT Ibnu Sina Batam. Pemilihan sebelumnya masih menggunakan cara lama yaitu dengan mencoblos pakai kertas hasilnya dimasukkan pada kotak suara maka dari itu dibutuhkan pengembangan sistem secara online, hal ini bertujuan untuk menghemat waktu dan biaya operasional. Data pada sistem diperoleh dari hasil pemilihan BEM tahun 2018 dimana pemilih adalah mahasiswa aktif untuk Program Studi Teknik Informatika 519 orang dan Program Studi Teknik Industri 590 orang. Data Primer didapatkan dari hasil wawancara dengan beberapa mahasiswa dan ketua STT Ibnu Sina Batam dimana menyatakan membutuhan sistem dan hasil pemungutan suara yang dapat ditampilkan secara real time. Data sekunder didapatkan dari data pemilihan sebelumnya yang menggunakan google form, dan hasil pemilihan kembali diimplementasikan ke sistem dashboard. Metode pemodelan sistem yang digunakan dalam Unified Modeling Langguage (UML) adalah use case diagram, activity diagram, sequence diagram, class diagram, sedangkan pengembangan sistem menggunakan metode Macro Procces pada Object Oriented Analysis Design (OOAD) dengan tahapan Requirements, Analysis and Design, Implementation, Testing dan Deployment, sistem menggunakan sistem database My-SQL dan bahasa pemrograman PHP. Pada implementasi sistem hasil pemilihan Presiden BEM dan Ketua HIMAPRODI STT Ibnu Sina Batam dalam bentuk grafik dashboard yang menarik bagi pemilih dan mampu menghemat waktu dan biaya penyelenggaraan pemilu.

Abstract

The global crisis, that has resulted from the outbreak of Covid-19, influences all aspects of daily life. Due to the people's poor purchasing power, several major stores, such as Furniture Store-XYZ, were forced to close several branches. To counter this, it will be required to adopt unique initiatives that will assist attract visitors and enhance sales while still adhering to the established health protocols. AR-Furniture is the ideal technology to solve this problem. AR-Furniture is an Augmented Reality-based technology that enables a 3D furniture catalog to present a complete picture of a piece of furniture in a virtual form that appears natural and identical to the original. The MDLC development process used in the AR-Furniture Mobile App. According to the study's findings, 100% of respondents agree that AR-Furniture helps to sell and to buy process be done effectively and productively and gives the users innovative ideas. 70% of respondents strongly agree that AR-Furniture makes it easier for users to reach their goals and that AR-Furniture allows users to do whatever they want. 100% of respondents strongly believe that AR-Furniture is helpful and that shoppers can save time while picking the right furniture. Furthermore, AR-Furniture makes it simple for consumers to select preferred furniture without engaging with shopkeeper workers.

Abstract

Kecacatan produk yang terjadi di PT. XYZ Indonesia pada proses produksi sulit dihindari, ini terjadi pada kecacatan produk Case G140323340A yang mencapai 6.16% yang terbesar pada periodenya 4 bulan terakhir, sedangkan perusahaan mempunyai target 0.4% kecacatan yang dapat diterima dari setiap total produksinya. Dengan jenis kegagalan seperti produk Dent, Scratch, Rusty, Burring NG dan Misspunch. Dengan kualitas yang tidak bagus, produksi menambahkan proses yaitu dengan menyortir dan me-rework. Sehingga biaya produksi menanmbah dan kehilangan biaya akibat kegagalan yang timbul karena tidak bisa menjadi barang yang dapat dijual. Penerapan metode Six Sigma (DMAIC) dan Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA), diperoleh nilai DPMO sebesar 22.146 dengan nilai σ sebesar 3,25 dimana masih jauh dari level industri di dunia yang mencapai 6 σ (3,4 DPMO). Perbaikan kualitas produk dengan metode Six Sigma (DMAIC) dan FMEA untuk mengurangi tingkat kecacatan produk diproses produksi didapat 3 Critical To Quality (CTQ) terbesar (Rusty, Scratch dan Dent) yang harus diperbaiki dan diimplementasikan. Setelah diambil tindakan beberapa perbaikan atas dasar metode Six Sigma (DMAIC) dan FMEA, produksi kini telah dapat mengurangi kecacatan produk dari 6.16% menjadi 0.84%. ini sudah merupakan hasil yang siginifikan dari tindakan yang sudah diambil oleh produksi.

Abstract

This project focused on the retrofitting of an aging cooling tower at PT. Sulfindo Adiusaha's Chlor Alkali Plant. The goal was to incorporate advanced technology and features into the cooling tower, in response to regulatory modifications and the need to upgrade older buildings to improve their resilience and performance. The existing wood structure of Cooling Tower T 9120 GH was replaced with a new FRP structure, and the Fill Pack was also replaced during the retrofit to restore the cooling capacity to the original design. The project was completed within a tight timeline of 10 days to ensure long-term reliability of operations at the plant.Following the commissioning of the new cooling tower structure, the retrofitted T 9120 GH cooling tower was able to deliver a cooling capacity of 10.8 million Kcal with an efficiency of 78.6%, indicating good condition and close to the original design performance. The maximum vibration data on the motor and base frame were recorded at 10 mm/s2, which is within the satisfactory category based on the CTI Standard. Motor bearing temperature was recorded at 65°C, indicating good performance.This project demonstrates the importance of timely upgrades to maintain plant operations and ensure long-term reliability. Retrofitting an aging cooling tower can improve its functionality, efficiency, and environmental impact. The success of this project also highlights that retrofitting can be done within a tight timeline, without compromising on safety or quality, provided proper planning and execution are in place.

Abstract

The use of LPG as a generator fuel needs to be optimized. For this reason, the correct LPG gas flow rate needs to be studied so that it becomes economical. The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of fuel flow rate variation and Choke Valve variation on the performance of a 4-stroke generator. Gas enters the carburetor with varying gas flow rates of 3 L/minute, 4 L/minute, 5 L/minute and 6 L/minute. Then the generator is set to run stably on fully open, half and closed Choke Valve variations. From these variations, a combination is then sought to produce the smallest LPG flow rate with optimum power. The generator can operate well at flow rates of 4 L/min and 5 L/min with the Choke Valve variation position fully open. This shows that the ratio of LPG and air reaches the ideal condition so that the combustion process is complete. Optimization of LPG consumption in the generator is set at a flow rate of 4 L/minute with the Choke Valve fully open. Thus the excessive use of LPG can be saved.
