Abstract

Heat pipes with a size of 0.0127 m diameter x 1.3 m lenght x 0.0008 m thick and absorber with a size of 1m length x 0.1 m width has been created and tested to be used as a solar collector heating element. Heat pipes are made using water as the heat transport medium and using a stainless steel mesh wick 120 as a tool that helps accelerate the flow of condensate inside the heat pipe. Testing of heat pipes will be do in two condition at an inclination of 30o , before the heat pipes selected as the heating element in the solar collector. Testing of heat pipe on the first condition is done by using 1,000 ml of hot water temperature of 100oC with the power supply of 20 watts as a heat source in the evaporator side and further testing of pipe heat was tested by direct solar radiation, this test is intended to see directly if heat pipe was made able to work in conditions that are expected. Tests are done to see the heat transfer capacity and response speed (τ) of the heat pipe. Based on testing obtained the fastest response in the heat pipes transfer of the heat contained in the filling ratio of 20% with the heat transfer efficiency of 75%.

Abstract

Flat solar collectors with heat pipe absorber with dimension of wide 1.5 m x 2 m lenght x 0.2 m thickness and 2.87 m2 aperture area has been tested to produce hot water. Heat pipe used in flat plate solar collector, has a filling ratio of 20% which has been proven to have the highest ability to transfer heat when tested in previous studies. Testing of solar collectors with heat pipe absorber has been done during the month of April 2016 in the city of Padang by using standard ASHRAE 93-2003. The test results showed the highest efficiency obtained was 46%. To get the hot water of at least 64 ° C with a flow rate of 0,35 L / min for 5 hours, required solar radiation of 750 W / m2. Generally, during the trial obtained water output temperature collectors from 8:00 - 9:00 pm and from 15: 30 - 17: 30 is below 60 ° C, whereas at 9:30 - 15: 30 obtained collector output water temperature above 64 ° C, while the water temperature reached at the highest collector output value of 78 ° C.

Abstract

Engine is the main power in the vehicle and has a different performance. The differences in engine performance can occur due to different operating conditions and the fuel used. Therefore, research on the performance of combustion engines must be done to improve service to consumers, because not everyone can perform performance engine performance tests. At the time of planning the manufacture of the combustion engine, theoretical performance was calculated, but the results were different from the actual performance results on the dynamometer. Therefore an engine is tested for performance tests to get the characteristic value of the engine. The process of testing has been carried out in accordance with the Standard Operation Procedure in the relevant literature and concludes that the performance produced by the test machine shows the value of torque characteristics, the average effective pressure of the combustion chamber, fuel consumption and volumetric efficiency which is inversely proportional to the engine rotation speed . For the optimal variable engine operating conditions in this study were at 4000 Rpm with 72 Nm of torque and 30.1 kW of power with a specific fuel consumption of 311.5 g / kWh.

Abstract

AHASS HCM and CPM workshops are Honda's official workshops separated by a distance of only 1.6 km located in the city of Padang. The number of customers in these two workshops is very much different, even though the HCM workshop has a better form of building and facilities compared to the CPM workshop. Research needs to be done to see the factors that influence customer interest in choosing a workshop. Performing regular service requires equipment. Tools that are often overlooked are special tools. If the workshop does not have special tools, the mechanics will have difficulty in the process of dismantling and installing or adjusting, so that the impact on the performance of the motorcycle that has been serviced. Research on the effect of the completeness of special tools during regular service at two official Honda workshops (HCM & CPM) in Padang on customer satisfaction has been successfully carried out and the results show a significant difference. The measurement of the influence of special tools on customer satisfaction is measured using the SERVQUAL method, so that service quality in both workshops can be seen. The SERVQUAL method uses several dimensions (tangible, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, empathy) which will then be translated into 16 variables as indicators to create programs that can control services oriented to customer satisfaction. The results showed that both workshops (HCM and CPM) had a gap between perception and expectations in each dimension. The average total gap for each dimension is -0.44486 for the HCM workshop and -0.2902 for the CPM workshop. This shows that the quality of service expected by customers has not yet been achieved in both workshops, but the quality of service from CPM workshops is much better compared to HCM workshops. This causes more CPM workshop customers compared to HCM repair shops.

Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi alat berat saat ini semakin fokus pada teknologi hemat energi, ramah lingkungan dan aman. Kendaraan alat berat bertenaga listrik merupakan solusi untuk mengurangi emisi gas buang karbon dan antisipasi habisnya bahan bakar fosil di masa depan. Kendaraan alat berat bertenaga listrik menggunakan baterai kelak sebagai pengganti mesin diesel. Perpres Nomor 5 Tahun 2006 Tentang Kebijakan Energi Nasional mendorong masyarakat untuk meningkatkan penggunaaan energi baru dan terbarukan. Kementerian ESDM mengeluarkan data jumlah energi surya harian rata-rata di Indonesia sebesar 3-6,8 kWh/m²/hari, dan di Padang berkisar antara 3.5-5,1 kWh/m²/hari. Kemampuan kerja dari sel surya diantaranya sangat dipengaruhi oleh arah datanganya sinar matahari dan kemiringan sudut. Solar tracking system jika diaplikasikan pada suatu PLTS akan menambah biaya. Untuk Membantu masyarakat kota Padang, penelitian ini dilakukan bertujuan untuk menentukan arah dan sudut kemiringan yang optimal dalam memasang sel surya secara tetap. Sudut  dan arah optimal adalah sudut kemiringan dan arah sel surya yang memberikan produksi energi listrik harian yang paling besar. Dalam studi ini menggunakan kajian eksperimental pada panel surya tipe monocrystalline 100 Wp. Sel surya diuji pada beberapa sudut kemiringan (0º,15º,30º,45º,60º,75º) dan arah (10º,15º,20º) menghadap ke Utara Barat Laut. Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan jumlah energi listrik yang maksimal dihasilkan sebuah panel surya dengan ukuran 120 Wp berada pada kondisi pemasangan 15o sudut kemiringan panel dengan arah 10,5o menghadap ke barat laut. Berdasarkan kajian perencanaan perhitungan pemanfaatan energi listrik hasil keluaran solar cell sebagai penyuplai kendaraan alat berat, dari perhitungan penggunaan energi listrik dapat menghemat biaya operasional sekitar 49%.

Abstract

Potatoes are one of Indonesia's horticulture products and are among the top five global staple foods. Indonesian MSMEs still use manual manufacturing technologies to produce potato sticks. Due to limited production capacity and short production times, this business faces significant challenges. After identifying the issues, an idea emerged to create a motor-driven tool capable of cutting potato sticks. The manufacturing of potato stick-cutting tools is expected to enhance business efficiency. This potato stick-cutting machine has a capacity of 336 kg/hour, a potato shear stress of 0.006 N/mm2, a working cutting force of 132 N, and a motor power of 33.84 watts.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to design a Computer-Based Inventory application of equipment in the Heavy Equipment Workshop of Padang State Polytechnic. Historically, the borrowing, returning, utility, and tool data recording have been manual processes involving a substantial amount of paperwork, often leading to errors in item placement, difficulties in accessing information, and the risk of data loss. This application not only provides a centralized platform for recording and monitoring inventory but also facilitates real-time information access. With this technology, workshops can avoid shortages or excesses of items, enhance the efficiency of heavy equipment utilization, and optimize maintenance cycles. The methodology employed in developing this application is the Waterfall Development Method. The research outcome is a computer-based application using Visual Basic and SQL Server Database. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang aplikasi Inventaris Berbasis Komputer peralatan di Workshop Alat Berat Politeknik Negeri Padang. Selama ini peminjaman, pengembalian, Utility, dan pendataan tools dilakukan secara manual menggunakan kertas sehingga memakan waktu dan kertas yang banyak, seringkali mengakibatkan kesalahan peletakan barang, kesulitan akses informasi, dan risiko kehilangan data. Aplikasi inventaris workshop alat berat ini tidak hanya menyediakan platform terpusat untuk mencatat dan memantau inventaris, tetapi juga memberikan kemudahan dalam mengakses informasi secara real-time. Metode yang digunakan pada pembuatan aplikasi ini adalah Metode Research and Development (R&D) dengan model Pengembangan Waterfall. Hasil penelitian ini adalah aplikasi berbasis komputer menggunakan Visual Basic dan SQL Server Database yang dapat digunakan untuk peminjaman dan pengembalian inventaris di workshop alat berat sehingga semua tools dapat terdata dengan baik.

Abstract

Perawatan dan perbaikan kendaraan operasional merupakan hal yang sangat penting untuk memastikan kendaraan dapat berfungsi dengan baik dan aman untuk digunakan. Dengan melakukan perawatan dan perbaikan secara teratur, kendaraan dapat memiliki umur pakai yang lebih panjang, menghindari kecelakaan, meningkatkan efisiensi bahan bakar, mencegah biaya yang lebih besar, serta mempertahankan nilai kendaraan. Oleh karena itu, perawatan dan perbaikan kendaraan operasional harus dijadikan prioritas untuk memastikan kendaraan selalu berada dalam kondisi yang baik dan aman. Badan Usaha Milik (BUMNag) Madani Lubuk Malako memiliki unit usaha transportasi yang melayani sewa kendaraan. Unit yang dimiliki saat ini berjumlah 3 (tiga) unit kendaraan yaitu Ambulan, Micro Bus dan Truk Canter. Agar kendaraan operasional BUMNag dapat memenuhi kriteria efisiensi dan efektifitas penggunaan, perlu dilakukan aktivitas perawatan dan perbaikan. Oleh karena itu kegiatan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarkat (PKM) ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kapasitas personel/pengelola unit transportasi BUMNag dalam melaksanakan prosedur perawatan dan perbaikan kendaraan.
