Abstract

Digital marketing is a product promotion activity in the form of goods or services using social networks so as to contribute to marketing activities. However, Pandemi Covid-19 which has passed is a starting point for changes in education in Indonesia and even the world that causes schools and teachers in Indonesia must switch to the learning and teaching system digitally. The situation of Post Pandemic Covid-19 has made the activity carried out digitally as a thing that is definitely used today. Therefore, the community service (PKM) of the University of Indonesia is a facilitator and an event for schools, especially teachers to be able to learn digital marketing in depth not only in technical aspects but also in terms of its use in the process of teaching and learning activities. Community service was carried out at SMKN 1 Labuhan Maringgai, Lampung Province. This is done with the aim of opening the teacher's insight in carrying out a digital marketing process. Not only that, through this activity also gave a presentation on how to build a business in the digital era by looking at the potential that exists in Labuhan Maringgai. Thus, the teacher is expected to be able to contribute not only to themselves and their families, but for students and the community.

Abstract

Generasi Z adalah generasi yang berasal dari orang tua yang merupakan Gen millenial, mereka membawa beberapa sifat bawaan Millenial antara lain setia, tegas, bertanggung jawab dan perduli. Namun, GEN Z berbeda dikarenakan lebih memiliki jiwa kewirausahaan yang tinggi dan cenderung untuk berjuang keras demi memperoleh identitas dirinya dan mendapatkan pengakuan dari orang lain. Gen Z juga berkontribusi 85% dari total transaksi. Lebih lanjut, pemerintah saat ini tengah fokus dalam menumbuhkan jiwa kewirausahaan bagi Generasi Z yang diharapkan menjadi bonus demografi tenaga kerja dalam beberapa tahun kedepan, sebaiknya sebagaimana dalam penelitian Mahanandia yang menyarankan bahwa bakat GEN Z perlu dikembangkan. Oleh karena itu sangat tepat untuk membekali siswa/i SMK yang faktanya merupakan GEN Z dengan motivasi pengembangan potensi diri untuk menjalankan bisnis dengan baik.  Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat ini dilakukan dengan tujuan membuka wawasan siswa/i untuk mengenali potensi diri dan membangun bisnis yang berawal dari hobi sendiri. Tidak hanya itu saja, melalui kegiatan ini siswa juga akan  diajarkan bagaimana cara berwirausaha dengan baik dan  demikian diharapkan siswa memiliki daya saing yang baik serta mampu berkontribusi secara meluas

Abstract

SMA Negeri 1 Sukoharjo merupakan salah satu SMA terbaik di kabupaten Pringsewu dengan akreditasi A. Kemampuan akademis siswa sudah cukup baik, namun ada beberapa kendala di materi Geometri karena melibatkan titik, garis dan bidang. Kendala yang disampaikan beberapa siswa karena sulit menvisualisasi materi yang diberikan. Belajar geometri membantu meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah dengan cara melatih pikiran untuk memecahkan masalah berdasarkan konsep geometri. Pemberdayaan teknologi dalam bidang pendidikan sangat disarankan. Digital Mathematic menerapkan teknologi dalam pembelajaran matematika, salah satunya fotografi. Fotografi adalah bidang berdimensi dua yang menarik dan mengandung unsur geometri. Pelatihan Digital Mathematics untuk meningkatkan minat siswa pada teori geometri dengan konsep   fotografi pada siswa SMA Negeri 1 Sukoharjo. Setelah mengikuti pelatihan tentang Digital Mathematics rata-rata 98% peserta didik memberika respon positif atas pelaksanaan kegiatan dan memiliki minat dalam geometri.

Abstract

In today's globalized world, proficiency in English has become essential for academic and professional success. This paper focuses on enhancing the English language skills of vocational students at SMKS Muhammadiyah 1 Kota Agung through TOEIC training. This community service program aims to improve students' language proficiency, particularly in listening and reading comprehension, which are vital for success in vocational fields. This program consisted of two sessions conducted at the school, involving 25 students from classes X to XII. The stages of the TOEIC training included providing an understanding of TOEIC materials, practice questions, organizing the TOEIC test, motivating students, correcting test results, providing practice resources, and recognizing high-achieving students. The results demonstrated that the TOEIC training activities effectively enhanced students' language skills, as evidenced by their improved listening and reading comprehension abilities. Furthermore, the activities contributed to the development of students' soft skills and received positive feedback from the participants. The findings highlight the importance of conducting such activities to prepare vocational students for future career opportunities and to navigate the global job market. Continued efforts in providing TOEIC training and English learning activities are crucial to ensure the success of vocational students in their chosen fields and to bridge the language gap in a globalized world.

Abstract

The tourism sector in Indonesia has great potential, both in terms of its natural resources and its people. Tourism has become a unique and enjoyable activity for almost everyone. Films, as a communication medium, are quite effective in promoting tourist destinations and exploring the potential of various regions. This research aims to explore the positive impact on tourist destinations that are affected by the phenomenon in films, leading to their recognition by the general public and an increase in tourist visits to those destinations. The data source for this research is the film Doctor Stranger in 2016 and 2022, including images and film scripts. The results of this research show that films can be used as a medium to promote and boost the popularity of tourist destinations. They can be considered as an alternative promotional tool due to their implicit nature, which tends to resonate more with the target audience. Promoting tourism through films can have positive effects on the featured tourist destinations, including significant improvements in the tourism sector, ranging from increased public awareness of the destinations, increased popularity, to an increase in the number of tourist visitors. Abstract

The aim of this research is to integrate character education by comprehending the plot in Guy Maupassant's The Story of a Farm Girl. Through an analysis and discussion of the novel's narrative, it becomes evident that the story follows a progressive plot structure. The stages, commencing with exposition and culminating in resolution, vividly illustrate this progression. In the exposition phase, characters and impending conflicts are introduced, while rising tensions materialize as Jacques breaks his promise to Rose upon discovering her pregnancy, subsequently fleeing. As Rose's pregnancy becomes conspicuous, her fears escalate, prompting her to remain hidden until childbirth. Although Rose weds her master, he remains unaware of her child. Ultimately, Rose reveals her concealed truths to Mr. Valin. Employing a descriptive analysis methodology, this research underscores the implications of plot analysis in The Story of a Farm Girl for character education in schools. It emphasizes the scrutiny of content and language, thereby fostering ethical growth alongside literary comprehension.

Abstract

The concept of heroism has long been a recurring theme in literature, evolving within American novels to reflect the ever-changing societal values and dynamics. While American novels tend to focus on delineating heroism for multiple characters, the portrayal often feels forced and less authentic in the literary works showcased. This qualitative research aims to explore the evolving portrayal of heroism in contemporary American literature, employing Andy Weir's acclaimed novel, The Martian, as the primary data source. The study meticulously analyzes the depiction of heroism in the story and evaluates its alignment with Joseph Campbell's renowned three-stage theory of the hero's journey. Through the presentation of empowering narratives, the research seeks to encourage readers to recognize heroism in its diverse and multifaceted forms, thereby fostering empathy, understanding, and unity among individuals from varied backgrounds. Ultimately, the findings of the study indicate that heroism in The Martian may not have been presented in the appropriate context, suggesting a potential divergence from conventional portrayals of hero figures. This research opens up intriguing discussions about the portrayal of heroism in modern literature and its implications on our understanding of the human spirit and heroic ideals.

Abstract

This study aims to delineate the structural form of the story in H.P. Lovecraft’s Color Out of Space considering from the author biography, the social structure of New England and word view of the author toward the short story. The social structure of short story becomes the genetic or origin of literary work. The analysis of this study applied Lucien Goldman’s genetic structuralism and descriptive qualitative method. The data were gathered from H.P. Lovecraft biography, the social condition of New England society in 1920s, and the view of the author toward the condition of New England society in Color Out of Space. The study found out that Lovecraft view the condition of New England after world war two and the earthquake in New York to delineate the horror, cosmic and color story.

Abstract

This article helps High School students become ready for the abilities they’ll need in the future by highlighting the value of public speaking. In order for Senior High School students to succeed in both their personal and professional lives, the essay highlights the significance of public speaking. To that end, this article suggests a community service program that offers training in public speaking, lectures on the subject, and resources for boosting self-confidence. Qualitative methodologies and multiple Google Form questionnaires were used to evaluate the efficacy of this program. Feedback received from SMA YP UNILA students showed enthusiasm and interest in developing their public speaking skills. The results showed a positive impact in showing self-confidence through the ability to communicate well. Through this article, it can be concluded that by developing public speaking skills among high school students, it can prepare them to face the future and become individuals who are better prepared to face the advancement of the era.

Abstract

Disney's animated films is produced not only to provide entertainment but also to deliver messages in it. Most Disney animated films have a target audience of children. The element of persuasion that includes every message will be one of children's character-building in real life, including how the film constitutes gender identity in children, which will affect the development of their lives. One of Disney's animated films is Encanto film which was released in 2021. The purpose of this research is to describe the moral values of the characters in Encanto film, especially observing the identity of the women depicted in this film. The research method uses a qualitative narrative approach to analyze Encanto film. This study uses Stuart Hall's representation theory and Christian Metz's Semiotic Analysis Method (MAS), or cinematographic semiotics. By the critical paradigm, this MAS is qualitatively interpretive. A method that focuses on signs and texts as objects of study and how researchers interpret and understand the code (decoding) behind the signs and texts. The study revealed the women's identity on the main character, Mirabel in the film Encanto. This identity is mainly found from the stereotypical Mirabel identity as a woman. The other marginalization, subordination, power, and workload differentiate Mirabel’s identity as a woman from men in Encanto film
