Abstract

Furniture design in art and design education use the thinking model which entangling design process with various problems which its character is not static and require the creative and critical opinion in joining creating energy, technological growth, and up to standard esthetics element to be produced. Problem solving which still on is going into effect in one case of furnitur design, differing at other case. The success of efficacy teaching and learning process in the studio of furniture design influenced by external and internal (study process, quality of human resource or lecturer and students, curriculum, education management, and also supporter facility learning and teaching process) factor. Abstract in Bahasa Indonesia : Desain mebel dalam pendidikan seni dan desain menggunakan model berfikir yang melibatkan proses desain dengan berbagai permasalahan yang sifatnya tidak statis dan membutuhkan pemikiran kritis dan kreatif dalam menggabungkan daya cipta, perkembangan teknologi, dan unsur estetika yang memenuhi syarat untuk diproduksi. Pemecahan masalah yang berlaku di satu kasus dalam desain mebel, berbeda pada kasus yang lain. Keberhasilan proses belajar mengajar di studio desain mebel dipengaruhi oleh faktor eksternal dan internal (proses pembelajaran, kualitas sumber daya manusia atau pendidik maupun peserta didik, kurikulum, manajemen pendidikan, maupun fasilitas-fasilitas penunjang proses belajar mengajar). Kata kunci : desain mebel, pendidikan, seni dan desain.

Abstract

The interior of Sonobudoyo Museum has been utilized for aesthetics, education, and tourism importance and conservation of cultural value. This museum is the result of ideas integrating the rational thinking of Deutsch architect, Thomas H. Karsten with the Java cultural value. The monumental art value and technical innovation in this building, is a process towards modernization, which has been contributing specific characteristics to the city of Yogyakarta as a cultural city. The erection of the building is not just referring to the functional, aesthetical,and technical concept, but also containing material and immaterial value of the Javanese society, so that the building and its environment becomes an object or material that is integrated in the museum collection. Abstract in Bahasa Indonesia : Interior Museum Sonobudoya dimanfaatkan untuk kepentingan estetik, pendidikan, pariwisata dan pelestarian nilai budaya. Museum ini merupakan wujud gagasan yang mengabungkan pemikiran rasional arsitek Belanda Thomas H. Karsten dengan nilai-nilai budaya Jawa. Nilai monumental seni dan inovasi teknik pada bangunan ini, merupakan proses menuju pembaharuan, yang memberi karakter khusus Yogyakarta sebagai kota budaya. Pendirian museum ini bukanlah sekadar mengacu pada konsep fungsi, estetika dan teknik saja, melainkan memuat nilai material dan imaterial masyarakat Jawa, sehingga bangunan dan lingkungannya menjadi obyek atau materi yang menyatu dengan koleksi museum. Abstract

Liturgy represents the experience of believing in God as well as the aesthetic experience containing elements of emotional rituals. It also possesses a creative goal, that is the formation of symbols, and the content symbolized is heading no other than towards reality, that is the presence of Christ the saviour. The religious experience in the ceremony of Eucharistic liturgy does not only act as an intellectual or philosophic experience, but also includes human feelings and actions. On the other hand, the Catholic Church building as God's house represents the sacred building loading aesthetic experiences, signs and symbols of heavenly nature that reflects the mystery and supremacy of God. The church service space applies the symbolic and sacred values through the supply of various religious service facilities, the use of symbols, and the materialization of space atmosphere in its zoning, walls, floors, ceilings, windows, furniture, decorations, colour, and others, capable of bringing the church people to the experience the reality celebrated in liturgy. Abstract in Bahasa Indonesia : Liturgi merupakan pengalaman keimanan dan sekaligus pengalaman estetis yang mengandung unsur ritual emosional, dan memiliki tujuan kreatif yaitu pembentukan simbol, dan isi yang disimbolkan tidak lain menuju ke arah realitas, yakni kehadiran Kristus yang menyelamatkan. Pengalaman religiusitas dalam upacara liturgi ekaristi tidak hanya sebagai pengalaman filosofis atau intelektual, tetapi juga melibatkan perasaan dan tindakan manusia. Sedangkan bangunan gereja katolik sebagai rumah Tuhan merupakan bangunan sakral yang memuat pengalaman estetik, memuat tanda dan lambang alam surgawi yang mencerminkan misteri Allah dan sifat keagungan Tuhan. Ruang ibadah gereja menerapkan nilai-nilai simbolik yang sakral melalui penyediaan berbagai fasilitas ibadah, penggunaan tanda, dan perwujudan suasana ruang, baik pada zoning, dinding, lantai, plafon, jendela, perabot, dekorasi, warna, dan lain-lain. Yang mampu membawa umat pada pengalaman realitas yang dirayakan dalam liturgi. Kata kunci: simbol, interior, gereja katolik.

Abstract

A furniture design of good quality has esoteric value, consisting of complexity of values in both knowledge and skill techniques as well as philosophical contents and methodological contents. The planning consideration of office furniture is designed with the concept of mobility that can be set or adjusted to the aim of increasing productivity, creativity, interaction, spontaneity, aesthetics, movement comfort and the ease of fixing, keeping, cleaning, as well the comfort in size, form, proportion and flexibility. The design should always undergo the processes of design, manufacturing, circulation, and distribution to produce a design of good quality.

Abstract

Dewa Ndaru Culture Resto is a restaurant designed with different interior styles to invite visitors to enjoy the cultural values and nostalgic experience of the past. Although the various styles have been implemented separately in terms of location, the design of the restaurant reflects a connection between the form and colour used in the interior space. The objective of this research is to analyse the combination of styles and how they have been applied in order to gain more knowledge regarding design styles, particularly in this restaurant. It is a qualitative mode of research which will be descriptive in its critical analysis to obtain verbal data and will depend on comparisons in which the findings would be in the form of a conclusion drawn to answer the summary of issues addressed previously. From the research findings, it has been found that Dewa Ndaru Restaurant has adopted cultural values from Traditional Java, Chinese houses, Colonial buildings and Modern restaurant designs.

Abstract

Basically, designing is a process that involve means to process (information), subjects processed (problem) and the processors (designer). On the other hand, design quality is not only measured from one's originality and creativity in implementing the design but also from his reasonability to explain, elicit, analyze and solve his problems, then he should make his best decisions. To acquire optimal results, he needs certain thinking methods both in curriculum and in its implementation. As a major in art and design, interior design tries to form integrated professional design by integrating science, technology, art, and professionalism. Curriculum material is directed to the essence of space planning and structuring in technical and aesthetic approaches. On the other hand, to support learning and teaching process and its professionalism, the implementation of education focuses on the development of creativity, academic and science knowledge, and the training of basic skills and emphasizes cognitive, psychomotoric, and affective, matters to encourage trainees to think in divergent and convergent manner. Abstract in Bahasa Indonesia : Pada dasarnya mendesain adalah sebuah proses yang melibatkan alat untuk memproses (informasi), subjek yang diproses (masalah) dan pemroses (pendesain). Sedangkan kualitas desain tidak hanya diukur dari orisinalitas dan daya kreativitas seseorang dalam menampilkan desain, tapi juga dari penalarannya untuk menguraikan, menjabarkan, menganalisis dan memecahkan masalah yang dihadapi, kemudian mengambil keputusan yang terbaik. Dan untuk mencapai hasil yang optimal diperlukan suatu metodologi berpikir tertentu, baik dalam kurikulum maupun pelaksanaannya. Sebagai jurusan di bidang seni dan desain, desain interior berupaya membentuk integrated professional dengan mempertautkan bidang keilmuan, teknologi, kesenian, dan profesionalisme. Materi kurikulum diarahkan pada pemahaman teoritis tentang kaidah perencanaan dan perancangan ruang dalam pendekatan teknis dan estetis. Sedangkan untuk menunjang proses belajar mengajar dan profesionalisme, pelaksanaan pendidikan dititikberatkan pada pengembangan kreativitas, pengembangan wawasan keilmuan dan akademik serta pembekalan dasar keahlian, dengan penekanan pada ranah kognitif, psikomotorik dan afektif, yang mendorong peserta didik untuk berpikir divergen dan konvergen. Abstract

A Chapel is a small church where Catholics worship God. The quiet, silent and comfortable atmosphere for worshiping depends on the acoustic quality of the room that can support worshiping activities such as praying, singing and listening to the priest’s sermon. An interior designer has an important role in creating an atmosphere suitable for worship in the chapel. The criterion of a good and suitable acoustic system in a chapel is influenced by shape of the lay out, the absorbsing materials used and the acoustic tools. An Acoustic parameter determines the quality of acoustics used in order to avoid disturbances caused by poor acoustic systems. Abstract in Bahasa Indonesia: Kapel merupakan tempat beribadah untuk umat katolik. Untuk menciptakan suasana ibadah yang hening, syahdu dan nyaman tergantung atas kualitas akustik ruang sehingga umat dapat berdoa, memuji Tuhan dan mendengarkan firman dari pastor dengan khidmat. Perancang interior berperan dalam menciptakan suasana khidmat dalam kapel. Kriteria akustik yang baik dalam suatu kapel dipengaruhi bentuk denah, bahan penyerapan yang digunakan dan alat akustik yang baik. Parameter akustik menentukan kualitas akustik yang digunakan agar tidak mengakibatkan kecacatan akustik yang mengganggu lingkungan sekitar. Kata kunci: Sistem Akustik, Interior, Kapel

Abstract

The Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus of Surabaya is one of the Dutch Catholic Church heritage buildings built in the 1920s. This church still exists today and its architecture and interior aspects remain significantly unchanged. This study aims to observe the characteristics of Dutch Colonial styles that have influenced the interior of this church. The results showed that the elements forming the existing space and furniture were influenced by the Dutch Colonial styles of design that flourished in Surabaya in the period of the 1900s to 1920s.

Abstract

This study investigates the Indies cultural influences on the interior of the Emmanuel West Indonesia Protestant Church (GPIB Imanuel) in Semarang using the descriptive qualitative method. The object of the research focused on aspects of the form in which the scope of the research include the typology of the buildings, organization of space, interior structural elements, transitional elements and the interior space contents. The results showed that the church has influences from the Indies culture, which consists of the combination and the adaptation of the colonial style with the local culture and climate in Java. The Indische Empire style, which was in trend between 1850-1900s and a form of adjustment of the Dutch colonial style to the climatic conditions on Indonesia, was truly prominent in the church building.

Abstract

Ludruk sebagai kesenian tradisional khas Jawa Timur sering dianggap kuno dan telah banyak ditinggalkan masyarakat khususnya di Surabaya.  Akan  tetapi,  salah  satu  kelompok ludruk yang masih bertahan yaitu Komunitas Ludruk Irama Budaya Sinar Nusantara. Demi  mempertahankan  kesenian  ludruk,  komunitas  ini  melakukan  pertunjukkan  setiap  minggu  dan  pengajaraan  pada  anak-anak, sehingga  komunitas  ini  membutuhkan  sebuah  wadah  untuk  melestarikkan  kesenian  ludruk.  Konsep  perancangan  yang  diterapkan terinspirasi dari visi misi komunitas yaitu eksistensi, inovasi, dan regenerasi. Konsep eksistensi ini diterapkan pada organisasi ruang yang terpusat, suasana ruang yang homey, karakter naturalisme, dan sistem self-service. Konsep inovasi diterapkan pada penggunaan teknologi dan ruang multifungsi. Sedangkan, konsep regenerasi diterapkan pada ruang yang openspace dan mudah digunakan untuk semua orang. Dengan desain ini, suasana eksistensi, inovatif, dan regenerasi dapat dirasakan semua orang yang berkunjung.
