Abstract

To provide adequate and quality air transportation facilities and infrastructure by developing and maintaining a sustainable air transport infrastructure, it is ?required attention to occupational safety and health risk factors. These factors need to be analyzed in order to achieve zero accidents in the implementation process. This study aims to identify OHS risk factors, determine the highest OHS risk factors and then prepare a Construction Safety Plan (RKK) based on the highest OHS risk factors in The Terminal Building Construction Of The New Mentawai Airport Development Project, to determine the control of these risks. Interviews, and questionnaires as well as the results of previous studies, were collected to determine the risk factors for OSH. The Analytical Hierarchy Process method was applied to determine the highest risk factor which was carried out by compiling the AHP questionnaire and inputting it in the Expert Choice application. The Construction Safety Plan is prepared after the AHP analysis, in which the required OHS costs are also known. There are 4 aspects of risk factors: Workers Aspect, Management Aspect, Equipment Aspect, and the Environment Aspect with 24 risk factors. The risk factor for worker burnout, which is part of the worker aspect and is carried out in structural work, is the highest. Furthermore, the Construction Safety Plan (RKK) is prepared based on the Regulation of the Minister of Public Works of the Republic of Indonesia Number 10 of 2021 concerning Guidelines for Construction Safety Management Systems with an OHS cost of this construction IDR 698,250,000.00. This study emphasizes the importance of paying attention to risk factors, namely the burnout condition of workers, which is rarely considered in the implementation of construction work.

Abstract

Sleeper bus services are becoming increasingly inseparable from the long-distance travel experience in Indonesia, especially on the Malang-Jakarta route. This study aims to analyze the characteristics of sleeper bus consumers as well as service strategies that can be applied to meet user expectations. With a survey and interview approach, data is collected from passengers with different demographic backgrounds. The results of the analysis show that the majority of users are private employees with an income above IDR 5,000,000 per month, who use this service for vacations, family visits, and business trips. While sleeper buses offer convenience, there are a number of gaps in terms of cleanliness, punctuality, and responsiveness of service. The study recommends several improvement strategies, including improved cleanliness of facilities, better time management, and interpersonal skills training for bus crews. By implementing this strategy, bus companies are expected to improve customer satisfaction and strengthen their position in the transportation market.

Abstract

Indonesia is located in a highly active seismic region due to its position along the Pacific Ring of Fire, causing many existing buildings to remain vulnerable to earthquake loads, particularly structures designed using outdated seismic codes. This study aims to evaluate the performance and structural capacity of an existing reinforced concrete building based on the performance-based evaluation principles of ASCE 41-17 integrated with SNI 1726:2019 and SNI 2847:2019. The research employed a quantitative analytical method using numerical simulation through Tier 1 – Screening Procedure and Tier 3 – Systematic Procedure. Structural performance evaluation was conducted using nonlinear static pushover analysis to determine capacity curves, plastic hinge formation, drift behavior, and structural performance levels. The results indicate that the existing structure still contains several structural deficiencies, particularly in columns and lateral force-resisting systems. The pushover analysis shows that the structure is still capable of resisting moderate earthquake demands; however, its capacity and ductility decrease significantly under higher seismic intensity. The structure does not fully satisfy the Immediate Occupancy (IO) and Life Safety (LS) performance levels, although under certain conditions it still achieves Collapse Prevention (CP). Plastic hinge distribution concentrated in column elements indicates that the strong column–weak beam mechanism has not been achieved optimally, making columns the critical elements controlling global structural stability. Overall, the ASCE 41-17 performance-based evaluation approach proves effective in assessing the seismic performance and capacity of existing buildings and can serve as a basis for determining structural strengthening or retrofit requirements.

Abstract

The change in earthquake standards from SNI 1726:2012 to SNI 1726:2019 has increased earthquake load demands in several regions in Indonesia, including Surabaya City, so an evaluation of the safety of existing buildings is needed. This study aims to calculate the cost of strengthening the structure of an existing hotel building using the Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer (CFRP) method due to increased earthquake loads based on the latest standards. The object of the study is a 10-story hotel building designed using SNI 1726:2012. Structural analysis was carried out using SAP2000 V.26.3.0 with the pushover analysis method based on ASCE 41-17 to determine structural elements that require rehabilitation. Elements that experience performance exceeding the Collapse Prevention (CP) limit are planned to use CFRP reinforcement according to ACI 440.2R-17 guidelines. Furthermore, the calculation of the work volume and the Cost Budget Plan (RAB) was carried out based on the unit price of work in Surabaya City. The results of the study indicate that the B6-1 Beam element (150 mm × 400 mm) on several floors requires CFRP reinforcement with a total work volume of 28.35 m2. Based on the results of the cost analysis, the unit price of the work is Rp. 2,389,987.46/m2 with a total rehabilitation cost of Rp. 67,756,144.46. The use of CFRP is considered effective in increasing the capacity and ductility of the structure without significantly increasing the building mass, although it has a relatively high initial cost compared to conventional methods.

Abstract

Maba City Beach is a coastal area that is vulnerable to abrasion and sea wave runoff (overtopping) due to the influence of waves and tides. This study aims to analyze the optimal seawall height as coastal protection against overtopping at Maba City Beach, East Halmahera Regency. The research method used is a quantitative approach through coastal hydrodynamic analysis based on wind, fetch, wave, bathymetry, topography, and tidal data. The analysis was carried out through the stages of calculating wave transformation, refraction and shoaling coefficients, breaking waves, wave setup, and wave run-up to determine the planned seawall elevation. The results showed that the dominant wind direction came from the East and Northeast with an effective fetch of 60.691 km. The deep sea wave height was obtained at 1.7 m with a wave period of 5.7 seconds. Wave transformation produced a wave height near the coast of 1.77 m with a wave energy of 3.97 J/m² and an energy flux of 13.62 W/m. The breaking wave occurred at a depth of 1.95 m with a breaking wave height of 1.66 m and a spilling breaker type. The tidal analysis results showed a Highest High Water Level (HHWL) value of 2.09 m. The calculation of wave setup of 0.25 m and run-up of 0.15 m resulted in an optimal seawall elevation of 2.99 m above Mean Sea Level (MSL). This elevation is considered capable of reducing the risk of overtopping and providing effective protection to the coastal area of Maba City Beach.

Abstract

With a total area of the Kayan River Basin (WS) reaching 3,178,215.72 hectares, when compared to other River Basins in Kalimantan, the Kayan WS only has seven rain gauge stations, of which six are in good condition and one is damaged or inactive. Therefore, it is important to determine the appropriate rationalization method in order to obtain the appropriate number and distribution of rain gauge stations and can represent the characteristics of the area in the Kayan River Basin. The method used to analyze the rationalization of these rain gauge stations includes determining the maximum need, minimum need, and the Kagan-Rodda method. After evaluating several methods, the most suitable method for rationalizing rain stations in the Kayan WS is the Kagan-Rodda method. The results of the evaluation of the need for rain stations in the Kayan River Basin are 33 (thirty-three) stations, the existing rain stations are 6 (six) stations, the need for the addition of 27 (twenty-seven) new rain stations.

Abstract

Construction project delays represent a persistent challenge in Indonesian infrastructure development, with delay rates reaching 38% and causing substantial cost overruns and quality compromises. This research evaluated the application of Critical Chain Project Management methodology to optimize cost and time performance in the Undata Hospital Phase II-B Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Project in Palu, Central Sulawesi, which experienced significant delays from 240 contracted days to 426 actual implementation days. Using Microsoft Project for critical chain identification and Root Square Error Method for buffer calculation, the study analyzed 228 structural work activities to determine schedule optimization potential. Results identified nine critical chain activities concentrated in foundation work, requiring 60-day project buffer and 36-day feeding buffer allocation. CCPM application achieved 159-day duration reduction (43.1% improvement) compared to actual implementation, reducing total duration from 369 days to 210 days. Economic analysis revealed potential labour cost savings of IDR 7,398,931,383.36 (59.0% reduction) through elimination of embedded safety time and strategic buffer placement. Comparative evaluation demonstrated that traditional scheduling dispersed 183 days of safety time across individual activities, manifesting as work expansion through Parkinson's Law effects. Even under partial buffer consumption scenarios, CCPM maintained substantial performance advantages, confirming methodology robustness. These findings support CCPM adoption for Indonesian reconstruction projects requiring complex coordination, extended durations, and strategic schedule management under international funding frameworks.

Abstract

The Kayan River Basin (Wilayah Sungai [WS]) covers an area of 3,178,215.72 hectares, making it one of the largest river basins in Kalimantan. However, compared with other river basins in the region, the Kayan WS currently has only seven rainfall stations, of which six are operational and one is damaged or inactive. This limited observation network is insufficient to represent the highly heterogeneous spatial distribution of rainfall across the basin, which extends from mountainous upstream areas with high precipitation to lowland coastal regions. Therefore, this study aims to determine the most appropriate rationalization method for identifying the optimal number and spatial distribution of rainfall stations capable of adequately representing rainfall variability within the Kayan River Basin. Three approaches were evaluated for rainfall station rationalization: the maximum requirement method, the minimum requirement method, and the Kagan–Rodda method. The results indicate that the Kagan–Rodda method is the most suitable approach for rationalizing the rainfall station network in the Kayan WS. Based on this method, the basin requires a total of 33 rainfall stations. Given that only six operational stations currently exist, an additional 27 rainfall stations are required to establish an optimal monitoring network.
