Abstract

Bengkulu Province recorded alarming rates of child marriage under the age of 19. Data from the Regional Office of the Ministry of Religious Affairs of Bengkulu Province in 2024 showed 625 cases of child marriage under the age of 19. Seluma Regency recorded 158 cases, followed by North Bengkulu with 104 cases, Kepahiang with 79 cases, and Bengkulu City with 72 cases. These figures indicate that child marriage remains a serious problem in various regions in Bengkulu (Ministry of Religious Affairs of Bengkulu Province, 2024). The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the role of health workers and the provision of reproductive health education and early marriage in the Selebar District, Bengkulu City, in 2025. The study used a cross-sectional design, with data collected by distributing questionnaires to 99 married couples registered at the Office of Religious Affairs (KUA) in Selebar District, Bengkulu City, using a simple random sampling technique. Univariate analysis results indicate that the majority of respondents (65.7%) in the Selebar District Work Area, Bengkulu City, in 2025, have a positive role for health workers. Nearly half (51.5%) of respondents (51.5%) reported adequate reproductive health education, and almost all (80.8%) respondents (80.8%) did not engage in early marriage. Bivariate analysis results revealed a significant relationship between the role of health workers (p-value = 0.000) and reproductive health education (p-value = 0.001) and early marriage in the Selebar District Work Area, Bengkulu City, in 2025.Health workers should enhance their role in preventing early marriage through sustainable, structured, and easily understood reproductive health education.

Abstract

Fe is essential for the formation of red blood cells and hemoglobin, which are vital for supplying oxygen and nutrients to all cells in the mother's and fetus's bodies. The WHO and the Indonesian Ministry of Health recommend that pregnant women take Fe tablets for at least 90 days during pregnancy and up to 40 days after giving birth. Husband support plays an important role in increasing pregnant women's compliance with taking Fe tablets. This study aims to determine a correlation between husband support and compliance with Fe supplement consumption among pregnant women in the working area of UPTD Penarik Mukomuko Health Center. This study uses a quantitative research method with an analytical design and a cross-sectional approach. The population and sample in this study consisted of all 43 respondents who were pregnant women in their third trimester, using total sampling technique. The research instrument used a questionnaire. Data analysis was performed using univariate and bivariate analysis. The results of the univariate analysis showed that most respondents whose husbands were supportive and compliant in consuming Fe tablets numbered 26 people (60.5%). Respondents whose husbands were not supportive and not compliant in consuming Fe tablets numbered 17 people (39.5%). The results of bivariate analysis using the chi-square statistical test showed a p-value = <.001 (<α 0.05), so it can be concluded that there is a correlation between husband support and compliance with Fe tablet consumption among pregnant women in the working area of UPTD Penarik Mukomuko Health Center. The researcher recommends that husbands provide support and motivation to pregnant women to comply with Fe tablet consumption. The health center should improve the effectiveness of its services, monitoring, and counseling on the importance of Fe tablets for pregnant women.
