Abstract

The cultivation of carambola produced some waste that can be used as organic fertilizer. Organic fertilizer is useful to improve soil conditions and enrich the nutrient content contained therein so that it is easily absorbed by cultivated plants such as pakcoy (Brassica rapa L.). The optimum pakcoy production is supported by good land management in order to meet the availability of nutrients needed by the addition of inorganic fertilizers and starfruit organic fertilizer. The study was conducted at Attaqie Farm, Tuban in November 2018 to May 2019. The experimental design used was randomized completely block design with two factors carambla derivated organic fertilizer 10 tons ha-1 , 20 tons ha-1, 30 tons ha-1 and inorganic fertilizer  0 kg ha-1; 50 kg ha-1; 100 kg ha-1. The results showed that carambola derivated organic fertilizer contained N, P, K, S, Ca, and Mg about 6.19%,  0.94%, 75.04%,  0.02%,  20.13%, and 47.23%, respectively. The dosage of 50% inorganic fertilizer and 10 tons of carambola organic fertilizer gave optimum results for the growth of plant height, number of leaves, leaf width, stem diameter, canopy weight, root length and root weight of pakcoy plants. Fertilization using a dose of organic fertilizer 10 tons ha-1 could reduce 50% of the need of inorganic fertilizer. Keywords: fertilizer efficiency, organic fertilizer, pakcoy, starfruit waste, verticulture

Abstract

This study provides an overview of the business prospects to support strategic decision-making in the development of oyster mushroom cultivation at Kumbung Jamur Jawara. The objective is to assess the feasibility and sustainability potential of the oyster mushroom farming business at Kumbung Jamur Jawara. The research was conducted from May to July 2024 at Jl. Raya Sukajaya, Desa Sukajaya, Tamansari District, Bogor Regency, West Java, using a quantitative and qualitative research approach. Data used includes both primary and secondary data. Data analysis evaluates the feasibility of the oyster mushroom agribusiness from human resource aspects, including management levels, job descriptions, and work simulations at Kumbung Jamur Jawara; technical aspects, covering raw materials and production; and financial aspects, using R/C Ratio and Break-Even Point (BEP) calculations. Results indicate that this business is feasible, with an R/C Ratio of over 1, specifically 1.37, indicating revenue is sufficiently high compared to operational costs. BEP analysis shows that the breakeven point is reached at a production level of around 1,169 kg, with a minimum price of Rp 8,038. Thus, oyster mushroom cultivation at Kumbung Jamur Jawara is theoretically expected to exceed the breakeven point.

Abstract

The continuous construction of buildings and roads in Jakarta has led to increasingly limited land conditions, resulting in minimal opportunities for farming and animal husbandry. One way to cultivate vegetables and raise fish in limited land is through the bucket fish farming system. This study aims to obtain good planting media for optimal growth and harvest results in vegetable and fish cultivation in buckets. The research was conducted at the Universitas Trilogi greenhouse from April to June 2021, using planting media types (Cocopeat and ash) and vegetable types (lettuce and mustard greens). The results on lettuce with Cocopeat planting media, with parameters including plant height, number of leaves, total weight, and fresh weight, showed better values compared to ash planting media, with respective values of 33.53 cm, 9 leaves, 25.81 grams, and 20.74 grams. The results on mustard greens with Cocopeat planting media, with parameters including plant height, number of leaves, total weight, fresh weight, and leaf color chart, showed better values compared to using ash planting media, with respective values of 23.07 cm, 5 leaves, 19.34 grams, 12.09 grams, and 3.63. The weight of catfish planted with vegetables using ash planting media on lettuce and mustard greens had higher weight values compared to using Cocopeat planting media.

Abstract

Citrus fruit is a non-climacteric fruit, this fruit must be picked when it is ripe optimally. Post-harvest methods include harvest collection, washing and cleaning, quality classification, packaging and storage. Apart from being expected to have a good shelf life, citrus fruit must also have hight quality and be able to maintain its nutritional content for consumers' needs. The aim of this research was to determine the effect of storage and packaging temperatures on changes in the quality and shelf life of Tangerine Citrus. The research was conducted in October to November 2021 at the Laboratory of Agrotechnology, Trilogi University. This research method uses a randomized block design consisting of two factors and three replications. The first factor is that packaging consists of two levels, namely packaging using wrapping and non-wrapping. The second factor is temperature which consists of two levels: 15°C and 25°C. The result of this study is that citrus with a non-wrapping treatment with a storage temperature of 15 oC is the best treatment and can be consumed up to 8 days after treatment, this can be seen from some of the lowest weight shrinkage percentage, scoring appearance, color, and taste that is still acceptable to consumers compared to other treatments.

Abstract

Attaqie Farm is a business that combines tourist attractions by giving visitors knowledge of agriculture, otherwise known as agroeducation. The problem with Attaqie Farm Tuban agroeducation is the amount of waste produced from nesting, ripe fruit, and decaying fruit from a pest attack so that it can reduce the a inclination of agro-tourism if it is allowed to under the tree. The aim of the study is (1) to know the content of the star fruit waste (2) to know the effectiveness of the application of liquid organic fertilizer on the Caisim plant, (3) to knowing the best dose of star fruit waste POC on Caisim plants. The research was conducted from August 2021 to November 2021 at Attaqie Farm, Panyuran Village, Palang District, Tuban Regency, East Java. The method used the RAK method (group random design) has a factor of 1 that is, a concentrated liquid organic fertilizer (POC) of 4 levels of p0 = ml/ l, p1 = 25 ml/ l, p2 = 35 ml/ l, p3 = 45 ml/ l. Each experiment was repeated three times with the number of samples consisting of 5 Caisim and was made up of 60 units. Research shows that the POC of the star fruit waste has a c-organic content (3.96 %), nitrogen (0.03 %), c2o (0.03 %), c2o (0.08), s (0.08), and ph (3.8). Giving POC star fruit waste significantly affect the wet weight of caisim. The 25 ml treatment was the best treatment among all treatments in increasing the growth of caisim.
