Abstract

The use of the school environment in the formation of children's character is still limited so that research is needed on the Utilization of the Environment Around the School in the Formation of Early Childhood Character Through the Play method in Kober Binangkit Cileuleuy Cigugur Kuningan Village. Research aims to find out the use of the environment around the school in the formation of early childhood character through play methods; knowing the results of utilizing the environment around the school in the formation of early childhood character through play methods; and obtain data on factors that support the use of the environment around the school in the formation of early childhood character through play methodsKeywords:Environmental Utilization, Character Building, Play Method. The methods and approaches used in research are descriptive methods with qualitative approaches. The population and sample that were respondents in the study were 2 class teachers and 20 children. Qualitative data processing is carried out steps: data reduction; data categorization; synthesis and interpreting data. The results showed the formation of the character of brave children, tolerant, tolerant, empathetic, hard work, mutual cooperation carried out through outdoor learning activities in the open and the environment around the school; there is a change in the attitude of children as a result of outdoor learning activities, children who were originally timid to be brave, who had lacked attention with their friends to be attentive, growing cooperative attitudes, tolerance and so on; and environmental support that allows children to play freely.Pemanfaatan lingkungan sekolah dalam pembentukan karakter anak masih terbatas sehingga perlu dilakukan penelitian tentang Pemanfaatan Lingkungan Sekitar Sekolah Dalam Pembentukan Karakter Anak Usia Dini Melalui metode Bermain di Kober Binangkit Desa Cileuleuy Cigugur Kuningan. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui pemanfaatan lingkungan sekitar sekolah dalam pembentukan karakter anak usia dini melalui metode bermain; mengetahui hasil pemanfaatan lingkungan sekitar sekolah dalam pembentukan karakter anak usia dini melalui metode bermain; dan memperoleh data tentang faktor yang menunjang pemanfaatan lingkungan sekitar sekolah dalam pembentukan karakter anak usia dini melalui metode bermain. Metode dan pendekatan yang digunakan  dalam penelitian adalah metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Populasi dan sampel yang dijadikan responden dalam penelitian adalah guru kelas berjumlah 2 orang dan anak sebanyak 20 anak.Pengolahan data kualitatif dilakukan langkah-langkah: reduksi data; kategorisasi data; sintesisasi dan menafsirkan data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terbentuknya karakter anak pemberani, mendiri, toleran, empati, kerja keras, gotong royong yang dilakukan melalui kegiatan pembelajaran outdoor di alam terbuka dan lingkungan sekitar sekolah; adanya perubahan sikap anak sebagai hasil dari kegiatan pembelajaran outdoor, anak yang semula penakut menjadi pemberani, yang tadinya kurang perhatian sama temannya menjadi perhatian, tumbuh sikap kerjasama, toleran dan lain sebagainya; dan daya dukungan lingkungan yang memungkinkan anak dapat bermain secara leluasa.
