Abstract

The research conducted focuses on analyzing the harmonic effects resulting from the operation of a three-phase induction motor in a single-phase power system and examining changes in harmonic values due to load variations using two capacitors. This study is a continuation of previous research, which only addressed the influence of a single capacitor on a three-phase induction motor in a single-phase power system, without further exploration of the extent of harmonic impact on the motor. The induction motor operates based on the principle of magnetic induction. This investigation employs a single-phase induction motor with lower power capacity compared to a three-phase induction motor. Three-phase induction motors have a small starting torque, preventing them from starting under full load. The study involves increasing the starting torque of the three-phase induction motor and operating it in a single-phase electrical power system using capacitors to improve power factor during the starting process while analyzing its harmonic effects. The research findings indicate that as the load on the motor increases, both the motor speed and harmonic current values decrease. This is evident when there is no load, and the motor speed is 1475 rpm; adding a load does not exceed this speed. The motor speed decreases as the load increases, while the presence of harmonic current values is due to the linear load, such as incandescent light bulbs. The study is conducted by enhancing the starting torque of the three-phase induction motor, imposing a significant load. The motor demonstrates more optimal and stable performance with the new method compared to the old method. Additionally, the harmonic current values with the new method are lower than those with the old method.

Abstract

This research aims to design an off-grid PLTS system for garden lighting based on IoT that is efficient and effective. This system will use IoT technology to control garden lights automatically based on light levels and time. This Off-Grid PLTS system will be designed based on the energy needs of garden lighting, solar panel and battery capacity, as well as a lighting control system. The results of research on solar panels tested for three days at 06:00 to 18:00 from the results of the first day of research obtained when the weather conditions were clear, the light level was obtained, namely 74000 lux with the power obtained 25.78 watts when charging the battery and when it rains, you get a light level of 800 lux with a charging power of 1.78 watts. From this it can be concluded that the effect of light intensity and weather on solar panels has an effect on charging the garden lamp battery. From the research results, charging the garden lamp battery with 12 V 35 Ah, the charging time is 21 hours 43 minutes with an average charging current of 1.92 A and battery discharge is obtained from research on the state of the automatic light, the battery discharge time is 19 hours 25 minutes with an average current 1.41A average. Bright light battery discharge time 18 hours 2 minutes with an average current of 1.55A.

Abstract

This study was conducted on 19 electric field data near positive lightning cloud to ground (+CG). The electric field change of +CG lightning consist of preliminary breakdown (PB) and return stroke (RS). The analysis conducted in this research are: PB/RS ratio, PB-RS separation, pre-return stroke duration, pulse train duration, and individual pulse duration. Furthermore, the relationship between +CG lightning and cloud image satellite was observed the average value of PB/RS ratio, PB-RS separation, prereturn stroke duration, pulse train duration and individual pulse duration were 13,89%, 91,53 ms, 102,23 ms, 1,20 ms,150,31 μs, respectively.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi bagaimana sistem kontrol otomatis pada unit Process Chilled Water (PCW) di PT. Infineon berfungsi dalam mendukung proses pendinginan yang efisien. Kami fokus pada kinerja sistem dalam mengatur suhu dan tekanan, serta bagaimana kontrol Proportional-Integral-Derivative (PID) berperan dalam menjaga kestabilan operasional. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sistem ini bekerja dengan baik, mampu mempertahankan suhu dalam rentang 15˚C hingga 23°C dan tekanan antara 2,5 hingga 3,2 bar. Kontrol PID yang diterapkan terbukti responsif terhadap perubahan suhu dan tekanan, sehingga sistem dapat menyesuaikan diri dengan cepat dan akurat. Dengan menggunakan sensor tekanan dan suhu, sistem secara otomatis mengaktifkan atau menonaktifkan pompa, yang membantu menjaga kondisi operasional yang optimal. Salah satu aspek penting dari sistem ini adalah tampilan Human-Machine Interface (HMI), yang memudahkan operator dalam memantau status operasional secara real-time. HMI memungkinkan operator untuk membuat keputusan yang lebih cepat dan tepat, serta meningkatkan respons terhadap situasi darurat. Penelitian ini juga menunjukkan bahwa integrasi antara sistem kontrol otomatis dan HMI tidak hanya meningkatkan efisiensi, tetapi juga mengurangi kemungkinan kesalahan manusia dalam pengelolaan proses pendinginan.Secara keseluruhan, temuan dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penerapan sistem kontrol otomatis di PT. Infineon memberikan kontribusi signifikan terhadap peningkatan kinerja sistem pendinginan. Kami berharap hasil penelitian ini dapat menjadi referensi berharga bagi industri lain yang ingin menerapkan sistem kontrol otomatis serupa untuk meningkatkan efisiensi operasional mereka.
