Abstract

Mathematical reasoning is one of the reasons students need in understanding creatives ideas. One approach to further develop mathematical reasoning is to play problem solving. By using this approach, students are expected to be directly involved in formulating, managing, and solving their own problems without the intervention of others. So in this study intends to examine the role of problem solving in improving mathematical reasoning skills. In this study, Mix methods is an approach with a Quasi Experimental Design Method as a form of comparison design. The subjects used were the control class which received cpntional learning and the experimental class which received assistance with a problem solving approach. The research was conducted at Ibrahimy University in the odd semester of the 2020/2021 academic year. Data collection was carried out starting from observation, tests, interviews, and documentation. The analysis technique used is decriptive qualitative and quantitative with paired samples test. The result of the study showed a significance value of (0,003  0,05) that the role of problem solving can improves student’s mathematical reasoning abilities with massive, active, and creative use being the key in this method. Abstract

Mathematical problem solving has become an important issue that was often discussed in school classes including in the covid-19 pandemic era. This research aimed to describe the level of reasoning ability of students in solving mathematical problems based on the cognitive style of field-dependent and field-independent cognitive styles. The research approach used a was mixed-method of quantitative and qualitative. The subject of this study were students of Ibrahimy 1 Junior High School of Situbondo. The data collection techniques used were the form of tests and interviews. The data of the written test and interview results were tested for validity by triangulation. This research indicated that:(1) there were differences in student’s mathematical reasoning abilities between-FD and FI subjects; (2) the FI subject was able to re-examined, evaluated, and drew valid conclusions, but not for FD subject; (3) the FI subject has fulfilled all four mathematics reasoning indicators and classified as a very capable category; (4) the FD subject has fulfilled all three indicators and classified as capable enough category; and (5) generally, the level of mathematical reasoning ability of FI subjects group was very capable category as many as 21,43% and 14,29 % for FD subjects group.

Abstract

TaKeru media was a digital and manual-based learning media that aimed to improve students' understanding of the subject matter of curved side spaces, especially tubes and cones. These study aimed to develop TaKeru media as an effective learning medium to be applied as research subjects to class IX junior high school students. This study used Research and Development (R and D) methods, and ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, and Evaluation) development procedures. The data analysis technique used in this study was descriptive data analysis technique, which described the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of the TaKeru media using t-test. The instrumens used in this study were media validation sheets, test sheets, and student response questionnaires for eight students. The results showed that 80% of the participants showed a positive response, and student learning outcomes also increased, indicated by the value of t count = 5.635> t table = 2.365, with a significance level of 5%. Based on the increase in learning outcomes and positive responses from students, TaKeru Media as a learning media based on mathematical literacy is valid, practical, and effectively applied to teach curved side spaces (tubes and cones).

Abstract

This research is a literature study with a descriptive qualitative approach to the type of literature that seeks to explain the important role of statistics in modern Islamic education and economics. In this literature study, researchers used various written sources such as books, articles, journals and other supporting documents relevant to the study. This study focuses on the discourse of statistical science and its role in the field of Islamic education and economics in the modern era. The results of the study show that statistics have been widely used by the public on various field such as politics, education, government, economics, and business. In education, statistics help students and learners or education practitioners in understanding data, measurement instruments, data analysis techniques, and drawing conclusions, both as evaluations and continuing education research. While in business, statistics can be applied to business calculations in the form of trend index numbers, dividend calculations, probability of profit in investments and stocks. Specifically, statistics have an important role in the banking sector, stock sector, capital market sector, insurance sector, multifinance and micro sector. Statistics present a lot of detailed and systematic information or data. Not only that, statistical science is highly recommended in Islamic economic and educational activities, and Allah likes people who carry out economic andeducational activities carried out with itqan, namely focused, clear, accurate, and compleKeywords: statistics, education, and modern islamic economy

Abstract

Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pengetahuan baru bagi calon guru serta melatih keterampilan calon guru dalam menyelesaikan soal berbasis literasi numerasi bernuansa nilai keislaman. Metode yang digunakan adalah PAR (Participatory Action Research) dengan 3 tahapan: Persiapan, Pelaksanaan, dan Evaluasi. Data diperoleh dari Pre-test dan Post-test. Data diperoleh dari hasil pre-test dan post-test kemudian diuji perbedaan dua rata-ratanya dengan menggunakan SPSS. Diperoleh nilai rata-rata pre-test 65,05 sedangkan rata-rata post-test 81,05. Hasil kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini menunjukkan bahwa ada peningkatan yang signifikan dari calon guru dalam membuat soal literasi-numerasi serta pelaksanaan pelatihan pembuatan soal berbasis literasi numerasi bernuansa islami terlaksana dengan baik dan mendapatkan respon yang positif.Kata kunci: Pelatihan, Literasi, Numerasi, Nilai Keislaman
