Abstract

The most common problems that occur in the distribution of drinking water are mainly caused by the high rate of water loss or Non-Revenue Water (NRW). According to the results of research in both DMA Graha Indah namely DMA Graha Indah 1 and DMA Graha Indah 2 have a fairly high rate of water loss that is for DMA Graha Indah 1 46.94% (78% physical loss; 22% non-physical loss) which is equivalent to 163,012 m3/ year and DMA Graha Indah 2 is 59.2% (87% physical loss; 13% non-physical loss) or 211,017 m3/ year. This research outlines using the Method Water Balance (WB) which includes techniques step test, sounding, and efforts to repair pipe leaks while for non-physical losses with water meter accuracy techniques. The results obtained after the repair of the leak is a decrease in the physical loss by 4% for DMA Graha Indah 1 and 41.16% DMA Graha Indah 2. This study also made a piping network simulation using the WaterCAD software V8i so that it can be ascertained that pipelines are leaking in the area by looking at the pressure drop along the pipe section. In striving to reduce water loss in the Graha Indah Area, 3 scenarios are made, for all scenarios remaining 5% are non-physical losses, while for physical scenarios there are remaining 10%, 7,5%, and 5%, respectively, and then all financial scenarios are analyzed financially. with an analysis period of 5 years. The chosen scenario based on the financial feasibility with an analysis period as long as 5 years (i=4.98%). The results of financial feasibility proves that scenario 3 is a selected scenario for DMA Graha Indah 1 which NPV, BCR, and BEP values respectively Rp. 9,430,810,135; 3.3295; 0.1086 and for DMA Graha Indah 2 the chosen scenario is scenario 3 which NPV, BCR, and BEP values respectively Rp 8,417,476,299; 2.767; 0.146.

Abstract

Management of market organic waste in Balikpapan City is an important thing to do to reduce the burden on Manggar TPA. Organic waste, especially market organic waste, which continues to increase along with the rapid growth of the population in Balikpapan City as a buffer city for the IKN can increase the risk of environmental pollution and safety. Market organic waste can be used as an alternative feed for cattle and goats and this has been done by the Sumber Makmur Farmer Group, Gunung Tembak, Balikpapan City. In addition to utilizing market organic waste as cattle and goat feed, the Sumber Makmur Farmer Group has also managed cow manure in the form of solid and liquid into solid organic fertilizer and liquid organic fertilizer. Thus there has been a series of Economy circular which can be an alternative in overcoming the problem of market organic waste in the Balikpapan city as well as increasing economic value. The method in this study uses a descriptive-qualitative method with a design action research model or action research by observing directly to obtain information from the object of study. Discussion of this research is divided into 4 parts such us System for Utilizing Market Organic Waste as Cattle and Goat Feed, the system for utilizing solid cow manure, the system for utilizing liquid cow manure, the potential for managing cattle and goat farms based on an economy circular. The results of observations at the Sumber Makmur Farmer Group, Gunung Tembak, Balikpapan City, show that there have been livestock management activities that apply an economy circular from upstream to downstream. Furthermore, it is hoped that further and in-depth research can be carried out in terms of economy circular-based livestock management in the utilization of organic waste as animal feed so that it can provide more comprehensive information to the wider community so that they can implement this system. Abstract

The generation of organic waste, especially organic waste, continues to increase along with the population growth rate of Balikpapan City as a buffer city for the IKN. One source of organic waste is organic waste from market activities, especially traditional markets. If not managed properly, it can increase the risk of environmental pollution and the spread of disease vectors. The alternative use of organic market waste as animal feed has been carried out by the Sumber Makmur Gunung Tembak Farmers Group, Balikpapan City. With the management of animal feed combined with organic market waste, it is able to reduce livestock operational costs, especially the cost of providing feed. The purpose of this study was to determine the difference between the use of organic market waste for animal feed compared to using fresh grass. The results obtained are that by utilizing organic market waste, the cost of providing animal feed can be reduced and farmers benefit more in terms of financing and providing feed,

Abstract

Managing the organic waste market in Balikpapan City is essential to reducing the burden on the Manggar Landfill. Organic waste, especially organic waste in the market, continues to increase along with the rapid growth of the population in Balikpapan City as a buffer city for Nusantara (New Capital City of Indonesia), which can increase the risk of environmental pollution and safety. Market organic waste can be used as an alternative feed for cattle and goats, and the Sumber Makmur Farmer Group, Gunung Tembak, Balikpapan City, has done this. Data collection for organic waste samples was conducted at Sepinggan Market, which has a sample size of 30 sample stalls. The organic market waste generation measurement technique refers to SNI 19-3964-1994 regarding Methods for Collecting and Measuring Waste Generation Samples with a data sampling time of 8 days (4 October 2024 – 11 October 2024). It was found that the average generation of market organic waste produced at Sepinggan Market was 452.67 kg/day. According to information from the Sumber Makmur Farmers Group, 26 cows and 26 goats are needed daily, and they need 500 kilograms of organic market waste as animal feed. These results prove there is still a difference or shortage of market organic waste of 47.33kg/day. This proves that using market organic waste such leftover vegetables or fruits can used for animal feed as an alternative to reducing market organic waste so that 100% is not immediately thrown into the Manggar Landfill, Balikpapan City.
