Abstract

This study aims to develop valid environmental context-based mathematics numeracy problems on fraction topics for fifth-grade elementary school students. The research employed a qualitative approach using Research and Development (R&D) design based on the Tessmer model, consisting of preliminary and formative evaluation stages (self-evaluation, expert reviews, one-to-one, small group, and field test). Research subjects were fifth-grade students of UPTD SD Negeri 1 Samalanga, involving 3 students in the one-to-one stage, 6 students in the small group stage, and 30 students in the field test stage. Research instruments included interview guidelines, questionnaires, validation sheets, and test item sheets. Data analysis techniques included document analysis, Likert scale analysis for theoretical validity, as well as empirical validity analysis, item discrimination index, and item difficulty level analysis. Results indicated that the development process using the Tessmer model was carried out systematically and resulted in 35 numeracy items with 7 environmental context-based story texts. All items met theoretical validity criteria with 100% feasibility percentage based on expert validator assessments. Based on empirical validity testing, 29 items (82.86%) were declared valid. The developed environmental context-based mathematics numeracy problems on fraction topics are appropriate for use as assessment instruments for fifth-grade elementary students' numeracy skills.

Abstract

Low students’ learning outcomes in IPAS learning on ecosystem material are indicated by students’ achievement that has not yet met the Criteria for Learning Achievement (KKTP). This condition is influenced by the learning process that is still dominated by the teacher and the use of less varied learning models, resulting in students’ limited active involvement in discovering learning concepts. This study aims to determine the implementation of the Discovery Learning model and students’ learning outcomes in IPAS learning on ecosystem material for grade III students at SD Negeri 4 Bandar Dua. This study employed a quantitative approach with a descriptive research design. The research subjects were grade III students of SD Negeri 4 Bandar Dua, while the research objects were the implementation of the Discovery Learning model and students’ learning outcomes. Data were collected through learning outcome tests and observation. The obtained data were analyzed using descriptive statistical analysis to describe students’ learning outcomes after the implementation of the Discovery Learning model. The results of the study show that the implementation of the Discovery Learning model led to improvements in students’ learning outcomes in IPAS learning on ecosystem material. Students demonstrated more active involvement in the learning process, particularly during the stages of observing, identifying problems, and independently discovering concepts. Overall, the implementation of the Discovery Learning model in IPAS learning on ecosystem material for grade III students at SD Negeri 4 Bandar Dua can be considered an alternative learning model that encourages students’ activeness and conceptual understanding.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the low learning outcomes of students in the human digestive organs subject in fifth grade at SD Negeri 1 Pagar Air, which is caused by the lack of use of engaging and innovative learning media. The use of appropriate learning media is expected to help students understand the material more easily and improve learning outcomes. One such media is Augmented Reality-based flashcards, which can display objects realistically and interactively. This study aims to determine the effect of using Augmented Reality-based flashcards on the learning outcomes of fifth grade students at SD Negeri 1 Pagar Air. This study used a quantitative approach with a Quasi-Experimental Design with a Pretest–Posttest Control Group Design. The research sample consisted of two classes: an experimental class using Augmented Reality-based flashcards and a control class using video learning. Data collection was conducted through learning outcome tests in the form of pretests and posttests. Data were analyzed using statistical tests. The results showed that the average pretest score for the experimental class was 46.36, increasing to 88.73 in the posttest. Meanwhile, the average pretest score for the control class was 36.52, increasing to 79.48 in the posttest. The results showed a significance value (Sig. 2-tailed) of 0.000 < 0.05, thus concluding that the use of Augmented Reality-based flashcards significantly impacted the learning outcomes of fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 1 Pagar Air on the topic of human digestive organs.

Abstract

Synonym and antonym material in Indonesian language learning still shows low student learning outcomes. This condition is influenced by the use of less varied learning media, causing students to be less active and not fully understand the concepts. This study aims to determine the effect of using interactive Canva media assisted by Educaplay on the Indonesian language learning outcomes of fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 1 Beureunuen. The study employed a quantitative approach using a Quasi-Experimental Design with a Non-Equivalent Control Group Design. The sample consisted of 45 students, including 23 students from class VA as the experimental group and 21 students from class VB as the control group, selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using a multiple-choice objective test consisting of 20 questions administered during the pre-test and post-test. Data analysis included the N-Gain test, normality test, homogeneity test, and independent sample t-test using SPSS. The results showed that the average score of the experimental class increased from 59.3 to 85.4 with an N-Gain value of 0.645 (moderate category), while the control class increased from 48 to 63.8 with an N-Gain value of 0.287 (low category). The independent sample t-test results showed a significance value (2-tailed) < 0.05, indicating that the use of interactive Canva media assisted by Educaplay has a significant effect on students’ Indonesian language learning outcomes. Abstract

Students' memorization ability, particularly at the elementary school level, is greatly influenced by the memorization method used. Based on preliminary observations, students experience difficulties in memorizing short surahs, such as lack of fluency in pronouncing the verses and inaccuracies in recitation according to the rules of tajwid. Therefore, learning to memorize the Qur’an at the elementary school level requires appropriate methods so that students are not only able to memorize but also understand the recitation properly. The An-Nashr method is one of the methods that emphasizes gradual, structured learning accompanied by repetition, which is expected to strengthen students’ memorization. This study aims to describe the implementation of the An-Nashr method in Islamic Religious Education learning on the topic of reciting Surah Al-A’la with the sub-theme of memorizing Surah Al-A’la. This study employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive design. The research subjects consisted of 20 students who participated in the learning process. Data were collected through observation and performance tests. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of the An-Nashr method is carried out through gradual repetition. The repetition process was proven to improve students’ fluency, accuracy of recitation, and memory of the surah being memorized. Therefore, the An-Nashr method can be considered an effective alternative in improving the ability of elementary school students to memorize surahs.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze students’ difficulties in identifying the main idea of paragraphs in expository texts in grade V of SD Negeri Neusok Teubalui, Aceh Besar, and to determine the factors causing these difficulties. This research employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive design. The subjects of this study were 23 fifth-grade students. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and tests, while data analysis used the Miles and Huberman model, including data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that students’ ability to identify the main idea of paragraphs was still at a moderate level, with an average score of 63. The highest level of difficulty was found in identifying the main idea in deductive paragraphs (95.65%) and inductive paragraphs (91.30%). In addition, students also experienced difficulties in mixed paragraphs (65.21%) and in distinguishing between main sentences and supporting sentences (43.50%). These findings indicate that most students have not yet been able to fully understand the content of the text. The factors causing these difficulties include linguistic factors such as limited vocabulary and the influence of local language, cognitive factors related to low ability in understanding relationships between sentences, metacognitive factors such as lack of effective reading strategies, and affective factors such as low reading interest. Therefore, improvements in reading comprehension instruction with more effective and varied strategies are needed to enhance students’ ability in identifying main ideas

Abstract

This study aims to improve students’ understanding of Pancasila values through the use of the Truth or Dare card game in fourth-grade students at SD Negeri Kuta Pasie, Aceh Besar Regency. This research employed a qualitative approach with Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in two cycles, each consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. The research subjects were 23 students. Data collection techniques included observation of teacher and student activities as well as learning outcome tests. The results showed that the use of the Truth or Dare card game improved both student activity and understanding. In the first cycle, the average student score was 68.69 with a learning mastery percentage of 60.87%, categorized as sufficient. After improvements in the second cycle, there was a significant increase in both learning activities and student outcomes, reaching the predetermined success indicators. In addition, teacher activity was categorized as very good, while student activity improved from good to very good. Therefore, the Truth or Dare card game is proven to be effective in enhancing students’ understanding of Pancasila values and creating a more active, interactive, and enjoyable learning environment.
