Abstract

ABSTRACT Shallot (Allium ascalonicum L.) is a horticultural commodity that is consumed by many people. This study aims to obtain the right combination of inorganic and organic fertilizer treatments for the growth and production of shallots .this research was conducted in Isano Mbias village, Tanah miring District, Merauke Regency, from June to Agustus 2018 using a randomized design group (RBD) of one factor, namely the dose of inorganic and organic fertilizer with 5 treatment levels, namely (P1) 100% Inorganic;(P2) 75% Inorganic +25% Organic ; (P3) 50% Inorganic + 50% Organic (P4) 25% Inorganic +75% Organic (P50) 100% Organic. Based on the research results of the combination treatment of inorganic fertilizers and organic fertilizers, the results did not significantly affect the parameters of the number of leaves, plant height, wet stover weight per clump, number of tubers per clump, we tuber weight per clump, and dry tuber weight per clump. Giving 50% inorganic +50% organic (P3) fertilizer gives the best results on the growth and production of shallot plants with a yield of 27.19 grams/family (13.96 tons /ha. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the adaptability of 2 new lines of rice tested in saline soils. This research was carried out for 3 months, from June to August 2018, in Bokem Village, Merauke District. This study used a randomized block design (RBD) using 2 new rice lines and 2 varieties, namely Mekongga and Inpari 35 varieties. The number of treatments used in this study were 4 treatments with 4 replications. The number of experimental plots is 16 plots. The results showed that 2 new rice lines adapted to the vegetative and generative phases, i.e., line 1 had an effect on plant height (14 and 35 days after planting), number of tillers (14 days after planting and 35 days after planting) and flowering age (65 days after planting), and line 2 had an effect on productive tillers variable (12.9), 1000 grain weight (25.20) and ton/ha (4.60 kg). Abstract

Nutritional problems and limited access to nutritious food remain challenges in several areas of Merauke Regency, particularly in Mandala District.. This community service activity aims to increase community capacity in utilizing aeroponic technology as an effort to strengthen nutritional improvements and sustainable food security. The implementation method uses the Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) approach that emphasizes active community involvement in every stage of the activity. The implementation stages include participatory problem identification, joint planning, training and demonstration of aeroponic technology, assistance in system management, and community participation-based evaluation. The target groups of the activity are community groups and housewives in Mandala District, Merauke Regency. The results of the activity show an increase in community knowledge and skills in plant cultivation using the aeroponic system, as well as an increase in the availability of fresh vegetables as a source of family nutrition. In addition, the community is starting to be able to manage the aeroponic system independently and sustainably. The PRA approach also encourages active community participation, thereby increasing their sense of ownership of the program being implemented. Thus, the application of aeroponic technology through the PRA approach is effective in supporting nutritional improvements and strengthening sustainable food security in Mandala District, Merauke.
