Abstract

This community service activity aims to increase awareness and knowledge of disaster mitigation among students of MTs Darul Ma’arif Numbay through socialization and disaster response simulation methods. The background of this activity is the high risk of disasters in Jayapura, while the students' preparedness level is still low based on initial observations. The method used is participatory, starting with interactive socialization about the basic concepts of disaster mitigation, types of disasters that potentially occur in Jayapura, and the importance of readiness and appropriate actions when facing disasters. The material is delivered using visual aids and discussions, followed by a disaster response simulation in the form of an earthquake evacuation scenario involving all students. Evaluation is conducted through observations and question-and-answer sessions before and after the activity. The results show a significant increase in students' understanding of mitigation steps and evacuation procedures, as well as the formation of a disaster-aware culture within the school environment. Students become more prepared and responsive in emergency situations and are able to correctly explain mitigation procedures. Additionally, active student involvement in the simulation also enhances enthusiasm and coordination among school members.

Abstract

Penelitian dan pengembangan (R&D) ini untuk menghasilkan produk berupa modul ajar. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menggambarkan profil dari modul ajar yang dikembangkan, menghasilkan modul ajar yang valid, praktis, dan efektif dalam pembelajaran. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain instruksional Dick and Carey dengan 5 tahapan. Hasil penelitian menunjukan perolehan nilai kevalidan dari validator adalah 4,82 dengan kategori valid. Kepraktisan modul ajar berdasarkan rata-rata respon guru dan peserta didik adalah 84,73 dengan kategori Sangat Praktis. Berdasarkan analisis hasil belajar menggunakan uji T diperoleh nilai signifikansi 0,00 <α (0,05) yang artinya ada perbedaan yang signifikan hasil belajar sebelum dan setelah belajar menggunakan modul ajar yang dikembangkan. Tingkat keefektivan modul ajar menggunakan Uji N-Gain dengan hasil Gain Score sebesar 68% yang artinya modul ajar ini cukup efektif dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar peserta didik.

Abstract

Nutritional problems and limited access to nutritious food remain challenges in several areas of Merauke Regency, particularly in Mandala District.. This community service activity aims to increase community capacity in utilizing aeroponic technology as an effort to strengthen nutritional improvements and sustainable food security. The implementation method uses the Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) approach that emphasizes active community involvement in every stage of the activity. The implementation stages include participatory problem identification, joint planning, training and demonstration of aeroponic technology, assistance in system management, and community participation-based evaluation. The target groups of the activity are community groups and housewives in Mandala District, Merauke Regency. The results of the activity show an increase in community knowledge and skills in plant cultivation using the aeroponic system, as well as an increase in the availability of fresh vegetables as a source of family nutrition. In addition, the community is starting to be able to manage the aeroponic system independently and sustainably. The PRA approach also encourages active community participation, thereby increasing their sense of ownership of the program being implemented. Thus, the application of aeroponic technology through the PRA approach is effective in supporting nutritional improvements and strengthening sustainable food security in Mandala District, Merauke.
