Abstract

Abstract Democracy is the old issue has been discussed for long time anthusiasly. This idea of democracy appeared in Greek about two thousand and five hundred years ago. Now day implementation of democracy keep going on developed to get the best performance. The Indonesian Constitution stated. Democracy as a system in running government. Thus, consequently of this choice it must be applied imperatively. In fact, there are many problems appeared caused by implementation of democracy. It may not be comprehended as a political system. Basically this system arranges so many interests in society such as state and citizens. Thus such a system must be help by a supporting culture. That is democratic culture. This writing tries to descript what kind a culture have to develop in Indonesia. This culture is bear on a mental and moral attitude. It bases on Pancasila as a philosophy of Indonesia.  It doesn’t only caused democracy running well, but it also guards democracy don’t losing its essence. Finally, democracy gives advantages for people as the owner of sovereignty. Keywords: democracy, culture, Pancasila

Abstract

Science is a subsidiary of philosophy. As a mother, philosophy  has a responsibility to guard science in order to keep on the right track. Science building is on three philosophical foundation: ontological, epistemological and ethicl grounding. They are all important, no one can be abandoned. Science should not only highlight one these  aspect. Nowdays science developes to become many  branchs. Each branch tends to emphasize one aspect of some elements of science. The condition is more complicated when many interests get involved. Science must remember its duty and mission. Any sophisticated development of a science, should not leave its philosophical foundation, so that science does not come out of its essence, which is to be able to contribute to the life of mankind.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Philosophy emerged in the Greek region about two thousand five hundred years ago as an effort to seek the truth. This is an important moment for the birth of science. Philosophy is the mother of science. Science is essentially an attempt to help human solve the problem. Science should benefit humans’ life. However, due to the development of science is very rapid paradigm change, not more science to human, but human for the sciences. Science separated from its ethical dimension, so that science became lost it’s substantially. Francis Bacon motto that knowledge is power has led to the loss of Sciences essentially, in turn, will lead to the destruction and human misery. Keywords: philosophy, ethics, science, human

Abstract

ABSTRACT In Ancient Greek, human being is termed Homo ludens, a game-player animal. In Wittgenstein’s perspective, politics may then be defined as a game which needs a language game as a means of communication. All political systems practiced throughout the world use language games, and the democratic system is the one most dependent to its language game. Through the game, political institutions gain vote and collect sympathy from the people. By practicing language game one persuades others in order to have same opinion or idea. Therefore, one should be careful and critical in weighing political statements, questioning what meanings lie behind them, within the democratic system. Abstract

ABSTRACT This paper discusses the human rights based on the historical and legal standpoint. Historically, the human rights struggle in Indonesia appears during period the indegenous people against to oppression of the Colonial. The struggle to get independence essentially was the human rights enforcement. Legally, the human rights in Indonesia have the law basis through Ketetapan MPR no. XVII/MPR/ 1998 on Human Rights, and Undang Undang No. 39/ 2000 on Human Rights. Keywords: human rights, historical background, legal basis.

Abstract

The environment problem is an urgent issue nowadays. Degrading quality of our living environment is a step towards the destruction of the future of human beings. Nature then should be treated humanly with a communal sense of responsibility. This problem is indeed our collective responsibility which involves each individual, family, society, and nation. As a cultural being, all human actions ideally should be based upon morality and ethical values, and this ideal includes how we treat the environment. To cultivate a responsible management of environement thus should be imperative. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan sejarah pendidikan di Indonesia secara cara umum, kebijakan pendidikan pada setiap jaman, dan pendidikan di Indonesia dari perpektif filsafat. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian filsafat atas masalah aktual yaitu pendidikan. Dalam penelitian ini digunakan metode linear dengan melalui beberapa  tahap yaitu persepsi, refleksi dan menyusun konsepsi. Unsur-unsur metode yang digunakan adalah interpretasi, analisa-sintesa, kesinambungan historis, dan idealisasi. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah pendidikan di Indonesia semakin mengarah kepada ontologi pendidikan positivistik dan semakin kehilangan orientasi humanistiknya karena melihat manusia tidak secara utuh. Pendidikan lebih memperhatikan aspek kognitif dan mengabaikan aspek lainnya. Nilai-nilai pragmatisme dalam pendidikan semakin menguat pada era reformasi. Pendidikan sebagai program untuk menyiapkan anak didik untuk memenuhi kebutuhan industri. Terjadi reduksi makna pendidikan yang esensinya adalah aktivitas budaya menjadi aktivitas ekonomi. Pendidikan hanya mencetak manusia menjadi homo faber. Pendidikan menghilangkan kesempatan manusia menjadi manusia seutuhnya. Pendidikan sebagai suatu aktivitas khas manusia jauh lebih bermakna dari sekedar mencetak tenaga kerja. Pendidikan adalah upaya memanusiakan manusia.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mendapatkan makna filsafat tersembunyi yang terkandung dalam lagu The Greatest Love of All. Objek material dari penelitian ini adalah lirik lagu tersebut. Dalam paper ini digunakan filsafat eksistensialisme Nietzsche sebagai objek formal. Metode hermeunitika digunakan dalam penelitian untuk memahami  makna teks. Unsur-unsur yang digunakan adalah interpretasi, analisa, koherensi dan idealisasi. Dari penelitian ini diperoleh hasil bahwa ada hubungan antara lirik lagu  The Greatest Love of All dan filsafat  eksistensialisme Nietzsche. Filsafat Nietzsche yang mendasarkan diri pada eksistensi manusia membahas manusia secara dalam kehidupan nyata, bukan manusia dalam arti umum dengan nilai-nilai abstrak. Dalam lirik lagu TGLA terkandung pandangan dasar eksistensialisme Nietzsche. Eksistensi manusia  merupakan hal yang paling penting dalam kehidupan. Menjadi The Greatest dapat dimaknai upaya menjadi Übermensch. Ada beberapa karakter yang dimiliki oleh The Greatest yaitu: sifat kesatria, pemberani, percaya diri, mencintai hidup, selalu berkreasi dan berjuang meraih kehormatan. Karakter seperti ini dibutuhkan dalam usaha menjadi Übermensch atau manusia agung. Menjadi Übermensch  merupakan kehormatan dan pencapaian tertinggi dari manusia. Seorang  Übermensch adalah seorang kreator yang selalu melampaui dirinya untuk menjadi lebih baik.  Upaya menjadi The Greatest merupakan upaya meneguhkan eksistensi diri. Ketika eksistensi diakui, maka manusia tidak akan mati. Ia akan terus hidup dengan prestasi dan kreasi.
