Abstract

Abstract: This research was conducted to analyze the most dominant difficulties and the factors causes students difficulty in reading comprehension. The objective of this research is to identify the difficulties faced by the eleventh grade students of SMA  Swasta  Islam  Terpadu  Daar  Al  Uluum Kisaran, to  identify  factors  of causing the students difficulties in reading comprehension at the eleventh grade students SMA Swasta Islam Terpadu Daar  Al Uluum Kisaran 2020/2021 Academic  Year.  This  research  is  a  qualitative  research.  The  subject  of  this research was the eleventh grade students of SMA Swasta Islam Terpadu Daar Al Uluum Kisaran 2020/2021 Academic Year. The techniques of collecting the data are Test and Interview. The researcher used the technique of analyzing the data from Miles and Huberman. The factor of causing the students difficulties found in difficulties reading comprehension there are difficulty in understanding vocabulary, house environment, school environment and the lack of students in learning English. Keywords: environment; reading; vocabulary  Abstrak: Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menganalisis kesulitan yang paling dominan dan faktor penyebab kesulitan siswa dalam membaca pemahaman. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi kesulitan-kesulitan yang dihadapi siswa kelas XI SMA Swasta Islam Terpadu Daar Al Uluum Kisaran, mengidentifikasi faktor-faktor penyebab kesulitan siswa dalam membaca pemahaman siswa kelas XI SMA Swasta Islam Terpadu Daar Al Uluum Kisaran. Tahun Pelajaran 2020/2021. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI SMA Swasta Islam Terpadu Daar Al Uluum Kisaran Tahun Pelajaran 2020/2021. Teknik pengumpulan datanya adalah Tes dan Wawancara. Peneliti menggunakan teknik analisis data dari Miles dan Huberman. Faktor penyebab kesulitan siswa yang ditemukan dalam kesulitan membaca pemahaman yaitu kesulitan dalam memahami kosakata, lingkungan rumah, lingkungan sekolah dan kurangnya siswa dalam belajar bahasa Inggris. Kata kunci: kosa kata; lingkungan; membaca

Abstract

 The objectives of this research were to find the error in student’s writing at Eleven Science 1 of SMA Swasta Tamansiswa Sukadamai. The subject of this research were 25 students of SMA Swasta Tamansiswa Sukadamai. The technique of collecting data used in this research were observation, interview and written test. The researcher used Dulay’s Theory to classify the types of Error. In this research found 4 types of error. Those were Addition, Omission, Misformation, Misordering. The precentage of frequency the error. It was addition(28,08%), omission (17,55%) misformation (29,83%), and misordering (21,06%). From all of the types, the highest frequent types of the error was misformation. Keywords: Conditional Sentence, Writing, Error

Abstract

AbstractThis study aimed to increase the students achievement in reading comprehension announcement text by using mind mapping technique at the tenth grade of SMK N 1 Setia Janji. This study uses quantitative method to collect the data. The result of this study shows that mind mapping technique can give the positive impact to students to increse students achievement in reading comprehension announcement text. Based on the result above, it shows that that the Mind Mapping Technique significantly effects on students achievement in reading comprehension announcement text at the tenth grade of SMK N 1 Setia Janji. The study’s findings support the Mind Mapping Technique’s effectiveness improve the students achievement in reading comprehension announcement text. This study is concluded that the Mind Mapping Technique can make teaching and learning process exciting more that it based on the data analysis. The learning process will be enjoyable for the students and students do not feel bored. Students become interactive and enthuastic more as a result of this technique. Reading is one of four skills of language acquisition which students must master in learning english. In learning reading, students should comprehend what students read so there doesn't missunderstand that reading cannot become effectively without reading comprehensionKeywords: Mind mapping, students achievement of reading comprehension, annoncement text

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find out the effect of using picture media on students’ writing skill of descriptive text at Grade X of SMA Swasta Daerah Air Joman In Academic Year 2022/2023. The population of this research is the X grade a students of Smasda Air Joman which consist of 3 classes. The research employs a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental research design. The subjects in this study are divided into two groups: experimental and control group. The researchers are given pre-test, treatment and post-test in two classes, Sample in this research selects X IPA 1 as the experimental group and X IPA 2 as the control group. The experimental group in X-1 consists of 30 students, while the control group in X-2 consists of 30 students. As a result, the total sample size for this research are 60 students.in relation to the pre-test, the t-test calculation shows that the tvalue in both posttest (3.898) are higher than the ttable (1.701) in the significance level of 0.05 and based on the hypotheses testing criteria, it can be concluded that the tvalue ttable which means that ho (null hypothesis) is rejected and ha (alternative hypothesis) is accepted. It means the average score of the experimental group is higher than the average score of the control group which indicates that Picture Media have an effect on students' writing of descriptive texts. In conclusion, Picture Media are effective in students' descriptive text writing skills. Keywords: Picture Media, Writing, Descriptive Text

Abstract

The research investigated, the Effect of Flipped Classroom Strategy on Writing Ability of Recount Text at Grade X of SMA Swasta Muhammadiyah 8 Kisaran In 2023/2024 Academic Year. Employing a quantitative approach with an experimental pre-test and post-test design. The research focused on students of grades X-3 and X-8, selected through purposive sampling. Oral performance was assessed through pre-test and post-test evaluations togauge the effectiveness of Flipped Classroom Strategy in enhancing students' writing skills, particularly in recount text. The results revealed a notable improvement in writing ability following the implementation of Flipped Classroom. Statistical analysis using the t- test formula that indicated significant improvements, as evidenced by t-scores surpassing the critical value at a significance level of 0,05. These findings support the efficacy of Flipped Classroom Strategy in enhancing students' writing ability in recount text. The calculation of the scores by using t-test for the degree of freedom (df) 50 at level significance 0,05 where the t-critical value is 2,84. The result of the analysis showed that t-score is higher than t-table 2,01 < 2,84 > 2,68  at the level of the significance 0,05 with the degree of freedom (df) 50. It means that Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected.Keywords: Flipped ClassroomStrategy, Writing Abillity, Recount Text
