Abstract

Physics is an abstract subject. Some physics concepts are sometimes difficult to understand if only based on the explanation of the teacher's lecture. Therefore, we need a media to help make physics learning look more interesting and liked by students. Thus, the purpose of this study was to determine the role of power point and periscope props to improve the optical concept of class XI students at SMA Al-Furqon Jember. The research method used is quantitative research methods with data analysis techniques using descriptive techniques. The sample of this study was the 9th grade students of Al-Furqon High School Jember. The data collection technique used a survey method by giving a pre-test before applying the learning media and a post-test after applying the learning media to the students. The results of this study showed that the post-test scores of the students were higher than the pre-test scores. Thus, from this study it can be concluded that power point learning media and periscope teaching aids have proven to help improve the understanding of XI grade students at Al-Furqon High School regarding the concept of optical material.

Abstract

This research was conducted to determine the potential of the ELF magnetic field for Osteoporosis therapy. This type of research design used is descriptive research. The research method used is Article Review by reviewing 30 articles from 2007 to 2023 originating from international articles and national articles. The results showed that the intensity of magnetic field exposure with the right intensity will have a good effect on cell proliferation, osteoblast formation and healing of osteoporosis, but the intensity given is not right will have an impact on damage to other organs of the body. Based on the analysis that has been carried out on 30 articles, both national and international articles, it is concluded that the use of the right magnetic field intensity can help treat osteoporosis. However, exposure to Extremely Low Frequency (ELF) Electromagnetic Fields still has a negative impact on health if the intensity of the exposure does not match its use.

Abstract

Rice plants are rice-producing plants which are very important commodities for the State of Indonesia. Aside from being a staple food producer, rice is also the main source of income for millions of farmers in the country. To improve the quality of rice and increase its economic value, breeding is carried out to correct weaknesses and overcome some of the problems that occur. One of the rice plant breeding methods that can be used is by using gamma ray irradiation technique. This study aims to analyze the advantages and disadvantages of using gamma rays in rice farming. This research uses the Article Review method with a total of 30 articles published in 2010-2022. The data obtained were then analyzed using descriptive analysis techniques. From the results of the study, it was found that gamma rays proved to provide several advantages, namely increasing plant height, increasing the number of tillers, increasing panicle length, shortening harvest time (during early maturity), shortening flowering time, resistance to wareng pests, and changing some properties such as the shape of grain tips that do not hairy. Meanwhile, using gamma rays as a physical mutagen technique, in some types of local rice varieties, if the dose used is too high, it will result in several disadvantages, namely reduced growth in callus diameter, callus growth capacity, seedling height or plant height, leaf width, flowering age, harvest age, as well as the number of children.

Abstract

Wave is one of the materials taught at the high school level (High School) and equivalent. Wave lessons can be developed through technology, unfortunately very difficult to implement especially in small towns and rural areas. This study aims to design an Arduino tool using an ultrasonic sensor as a radar in wave material. The research uses four stages, namely: hardware design, software design, teaching aids making and teaching aids testing. The results of the Arduino design based on ultrasonic sensors in the processing software display a detectable distance, which is a maximum of 40 cm equipped with an angle.

Abstract

Tanaman jagung memiliki peranan yang sangat penting dalam sektor pertanian dan ekonomi Indonesia. Sebagai sumber pangan utama dan mata pencaharian bagi jutaan petani di Indonesia, peningkatan kualitas jagung menjadi fokus utama dalam menghadapi perkembangan pengetahuan dan teknologi. Salah satu upaya yang dilakukan untuk meningkatkan kualitas jagung dan nilai ekonomisnya adalah melalui metode pemuliaan tanaman jagung menggunakan teknik iradiasi sinar gamma, yang dikenal sebagai (Gamma Ray Irradiation). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi keuntungan dan kerugian dalam pemanfaatan sinar gamma dalam pertanian jagung. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Article Review dengan mengumpulkan 20 artikel dari tahun 2010 hingga 2023. Data yang terkumpul dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan sinar gamma memberikan beberapa keuntungan bagi tanaman jagung, seperti membantu petani dalam menghasilkan bibit jagung yang unggul dan berkualitas, menciptakan keragaman fisiologis, dan mempermudah dalam seleksi bibit yang unggul. Namun, kekurangan dari metode ini adalah memerlukan biaya yang cukup besar.
