This research is a Classroom Action Research aimed at improving students’ understanding of probability concepts in mathematics learning through the implementation of a contextual approach among eleventh-grade vocational high school students. This research motivated by students’ low conceptual understanding of probability, which resulted from learning activities that were predominantly abstract and insufficiently connected to real-life contexts. The research was conducted in two cycles, each consisting of the stages of planning, action implementation, observation, and reflection. The research subjects were eleventh-grade students of the Visual Communication Design (DKV) Study Program at SMK Pratiwi Prabumulih. Data collection techniques included concept comprehension tests, observations of student and teacher activities, and documentation. The data were analyzed using descriptive quantitative and qualitative methods.The results of the study indicate that the implementation of a contextual approach effectively improved students’ understanding of probability concepts, as evidenced by increases in the mean scores and the percentage of learning mastery. The average post-test score increased from 60.83 in Cycle I to 87.17 in Cycle II, while the percentage of learning mastery improved from 56.67% in Cycle I to 86.67% in Cycle II. In addition, students’ engagement in the learning process also showed a significant improvement. ABSTRAKPenelitian ini merupakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep peluang dalam pembelajaran matematika melalui penerapan pendekatan kontekstual pada siswa kelas XI SMK. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya pemahaman konsep peluang siswa akibat pembelajaran yang masih bersifat abstrak dan kurang mengaitkan materi dengan kehidupan sehari-hari. Penelitian dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus, yang masing-masing siklus meliputi tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas XI Program Keahlian Desain Komunikasi Visual (DKV) di SMK Pratiwi Prabumulih. Teknik pengumpulan data meliputi tes pemahaman konsep, observasi aktivitas siswa dan guru, serta dokumentasi. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan pendekatan kontekstual mampu meningkatkan pemahaman konsep peluang siswa, yang ditunjukkan oleh peningkatan nilai rata-rata dan persentase ketuntasan belajar. Nilai rata-rata post-test meningkat dari 60,83 pada siklus I menjadi 87,17 pada siklus II, sedangkan persentase ketuntasan belajar meningkat dari 56,67% pada siklus I menjadi 86,67% pada siklus II. Selain itu, keterlibatan siswa dalam proses pembelajaran juga mengalami peningkatan.
