Abstract

This research aims to review the governance strategy of Mawaridussalam Islamic boarding school library. This research aims to find out how planning strategy, organizing strategy, briefing/mobilization strategy, and library governance supervision strategy in Mawaridussalam Islamic boarding school Batang Kuis Deli Serdang. This research uses a qualitative approach, where data is collected through methods: interviews and documentation studies. Data analysis techniques are carried out with three paths, namely: data presentation, data reduction, and conclusion drawing. The results of this study show that the library governance strategy in Mawaridussalam Islamic boarding school has been implemented optimally following the national standards of the library although there are still some management procedures whose implementation is still not fully followed.

Abstract

The fast-moving, unlimited flow of information and the appearance of various publications of information sources both printed and non-printed make students as information users trapped in the many sources of information circulating and do not allow them to evaluate one by one. Therefore, it takes the role of librarians and academics to form an information literacy programme as an effort to improve students' information literacy skills. The purpose of this study is to find out and describe the extent to which the readiness of librarians and lecturers of UIN North Sumatra in building collaboration to form an information literacy learning curriculum programme in lectures. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data analysis techniques using the Miles and Huberman model. The results stated that librarians and lecturers strongly support the implementation of collaboration to integrate information literacy into the learning curriculum. However, in reality, librarians and faculty are still not ready to assign librarians as teaching staff who will teach information literacy learning in the classroom. So the reviewer suggests that UIN North Sumatera library can move more actively to encourage librarians to various skill development activities that can improve teaching competence.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui strategi komunikasi PT. Rina Busana dalam membangun brand awareness di Medan. Teori yang digunakan untuk penelitian ini adalah teori Hypodermic atau bullet of theory yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif, dimana yang dimaksud mendeskripsikan dan menganalisis fenomena, peristiwa, aktivitas sosial, sikap, kepercayaan, persepsi, pemikiran orang secara personal maupun kelompok. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Strategi Komunikasi yang berjalan di PT. Ria Busana dalam membangun Brand awareness dinilai cukup berjalan dengan baik, terbukti dengan pelayanan yang diberikan pada saat di toko dengan melakukan penyambutan yang baik, memiliki berapa media sosial dalam membangun brand di kalangan media sosial, kenyamanan dan keamanan yang didapat juga baik, sehingga customer merasa nyaman berbelanja di PT Ria Busana cabang Medan. Hanya saja kedepannya harus ditingkatkan lagi mulai dari fasilitas, komunikasi untuk promosi, dan informasi yang disampaikan.

Abstract

Dalam kegiatan akademik, artikel ilmiah merupakan sumber yang kredibel dalam memberikan informasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui seberapa banyak artikel yang menggunakan topik literasi informasi dalam melakukan penelitian artikel jurnal ilmu perpustakaan yang sudah terindeks SINTA. penelitian ini penting untuk dikaji karena merupakan penelitian yang membahas tentang penggunaan topik literasi informasi untuk mengetahui apakah masih layak dikaji untuk penelitian-penilitian selanjutnya. Adapun jenis penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode deskriptif berbasis analisis bibliometrik guna melihat perkembangan penelitian berdasarkan hasil dari pemetaan riset dengan menggunakan teknik pengumpulan data melalui perangkat lunak yaitu VOSviewers, Harzing’s Publish or Perish, dan Mendeley. Hasil dari penelitian ini ialah ditemukan 18 artikel dari 6 jurnal ilmu perpustakaan yang meneliti tren literasi informasi. Adapun tema atau topik yang diteliti dari tahun ketahun mengalami perubahan sesaui dengan permasalahan yang ingin dikaji. Dalam penelitian ini topik yang yang paling sering dibahas pada tren penelitian literasi informasi adalah literasi informasi sebagai pembelajaran akan keterampilan.Kata Kunci: Analisis Bibliometrik; Literasi Informasi; Jurnal Ilmu Perpustakaan

Abstract

The Library and Archives Service of South Labuhanbatu Regency is an agency implementing local government affairs in the field of libraries and archives. The purpose of this research is to find out the various efforts of the South Labuhanbatu Regency Library and Archives Service in implementing work programs that are in line with the SDGs. This study uses data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. In this study, researchers used a data validity test through data triangulation. The data analysis used refers to the Miles and Huberman model. In this study there were 4 people as informants, consisting of librarians at the Library and Archives Service of South Labuhanbatu Regency. Based on the research that has been carried out, it can be concluded that the Library and Archives Service of Labuhanbatu Selatan Regency has an important role in supporting the SDGs, especially in pillars 1 and 4, namely poverty alleviation and delivery of quality education. The results of this research can be used by libraries to develop information services that support the SDGs.

Abstract

This study aims to find out how the perceptions of master students at the State Islamic University of North Sumatra in terms of knowledge and experience in utilizing the Cambridge journal database. The research method used was qualitative with the informant selection technique using snowball sampling and five informants were obtained who knew and had accessed the Cambridge database. Data collection techniques used observation, interviews, and documentation. The research results showed that the majority of informants did not know that the UINSU Library had subscribed to the Cambridge journal database service. Most students know about the database of Cambridge journals obtained from outsiders when they were undergraduate students so that it has an impact on usage statistics with 104 downloads per year. This is caused by promotions related to journal services that are not carried out evenly throughout the academic community due to the difference in location between the library and the postgraduate campus. There are several factors inhibiting students from not using the Cambridge journal database such as access to closed articles which causes students not to use the campus network to open access automatically or not to use accounts and passwords provided to log in outside the campus network.

Abstract

Artificial Intelligence atau kecerdasan buatan, dewasa ini berkembang dengan sangat pesat. Artificial intelligence memiliki dampak terhadap kehidupan manusia di berbagai aspek. Dalam bidang perpustakaan, AI dapat digunakan untuk memperbaiki pengindeksan, pencarian, dan penemuan konten, serta meningkatkan pengalaman pengguna dengan personalisasi layanan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menemukan tema, konteks, produktivitas publikasi, dan publisher yang paling banyak mengeluarkan artikel ilmiah Internasional terkait topik. Analisis bibliometrik terhadap publikasi ilmiah Internasional dapat memberikan gambaran terhadap tujuan dari penelitian ini. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan penelusuran pada perangkat lunak Publish or Perish yang mengakses database Google Scholar, VosViewer, dan Mendeley. VosViewer digunakan untuk menganalisis dan mengklasifikasikan tema serta konteks penelitian, sementara Mendeley digunakan untuk mengorganisir dan menyaring metadata. Hasil penelusuran menunjukkan terdapat 133 artikel jurnal yang sesuai dengan topik yang terkait. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan perkembangan publikasi tahun 2019-2023 dengan topik penelitian Artificial Intelligence mengalami peningkatan disetiap tahunnya. Publisher yang paling banyak menerbitkan artikel terkait topik adalah Springer. Pemetaan tema terkait topik menggunakan VosViewer berdasarkan kata kunci terbagi menjadi 10 cluster yaitu; Artificial Intelligence, Information System, Academic Library, Machine Learning, Library Management System, University Library, Library Operation, Innovative Library Services, Technology, dan National Library. Menindaklanjuti hasil penelitian ini, maka tren penelitian Artificial Intelligence di Perpustakaan harus lebih ditingkatkan melalui publikasi ilmiah artikel jurnal Internasional, sehingga Perpustakaan terus berkembang mengikuti perkembangan teknologi.

Abstract

Menemukan apa yang dilakukan Perpustakaan Universitas Islam Sumatra Utara untuk membantu mahasiswa meningkatkan keterampilan komunikasi ilmiah, serta faktor-faktor apa yang membantu dan faktor apa yang menghambat upaya ini, adalah tujuan utama penelitian ini. Pendekatan penelitian kualitatif berdasarkan metode deskriptif digunakan dalam penelitian. Hasil penelitian adalah aktivitas yang yang dilakukan pustakawan UINSU dalam mengembangkan komunikasi ilmiah yaitu membangun Repository, penerbitan Jurnal Ilmiah dan melanggan Jurnal (E-Journal). Faktor  pendukungnya adalah akreditasi dan referensi mahasiswa. Sedangkan faktor penghambatnya adalah ialah SDM dan dana anggaran.

Abstract

The Sorkam Kingdom, located in the village of Sorkam, Tapanuli Tengah Regency, possesses a highly valuable historical heritage, namely the Cultural Heritage of the Ancient Islamic Tombs of the Sorkam Kings. This tomb complex has become an important legacy to be preserved in order to maintain the identity and self-esteem of the community in the context of the evolving culture. The purpose of this research is to understand the preservation efforts for the Ancient Islamic Tombs of the Sorkam Kings and to identify various challenges faced, along with the efforts to overcome them. The research method used is qualitative descriptive, with data collection techniques involving observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the research indicate that various efforts have been made to sustain this site. Protection is carried out through maintenance and restoration activities, while development is directed through in-depth research. The utilization of the site is conducted through scientific, religious, and tourism approaches.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the search and preservation strategies of ancient manuscripts implemented by the Deli Serdang Library and Archives. The method used is descriptive qualitative, which allows for in-depth analysis of the preservation process through historical data collection and interviews with related parties. The results of the study indicate that the library applies a non-interventionist approach by keeping the manuscripts in the hands of their owners to respect property rights and cultural sensitivity. In addition, active collaboration with local communities and traditional leaders is key to success in building community trust and participation. This strategy not only maintains the physical preservation of the manuscripts but also strengthens the cultural and social values ​​inherent in the heritage. In conclusion, an approach that prioritizes respect for the community and participatory involvement is an important foundation for the sustainable preservation of ancient manuscripts in Deli Serdang.
