Papaya (Carica papaya) consumption on iron absorption in the second trimester pregnant womenBackground: Anemia is one of the most common indirect causes of bleeding in maternity. The prevalence of anemia in pregnancy in Lampung Province is 69.8%. Papaya fruit contains high vitamin C which serves to accelerate the absorption of Fe tablets.Purpose: To determine papaya (carica papaya) consumption on iron absorption in the second trimester pregnant women at BPS Jati Agung District, South Lampung Regency in 2019.Method: The research method uses quantitative methods, the research design is pre-experimental with a one group pretest posttest approach. The population in this study were all 52 pregnant women with TM II. The sample in this study were all pregnant women in the second trimester as many as 30 participant. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. Results : Univariate data analysis to determine the average hemoglobin level in pregnant women before and after being given papaya fruit, bivariate analysis using the T-test dependent. The average hemoglobin level in pregnant women before being given Papaya to pregnant women was 9.793 g/dl, and the average after being given treatment was 11.213 g/dl. The results of the analysis using the T-test dependent obtained a p-value of 0.000 which means that there is an effect of giving papaya on the absorption of Fe tablets on hemoglobin levels in second-trimester pregnant women. Conclusion : The average hemoglobin level was 9.793 gr/dl, which was below the average 14 participants and above the average 16 participants, and the average hemoglobin level in anemic pregnant women after giving which was 11.213 g/dl, which was below the average of 19 participants and above the average of 11, the t-test was obtained (p-value 0.000
