Abstract

Background: The National Disaster Management Agency noted that in the period of 2020 there have been 2,925 natural disasters. Aceh is a province that is prone to disasters such as being prone to flash floods, landslides, and earthquakes. This series of natural phenomena has made the people of Aceh familiar with various disasters. One of the ways to prevent the number of victims in a disaster is to have volunteers around the community, namely health cadres. Health cadres are trained as monitors, reminders and advocates to promote health so that it is possible for cadres to have the ability to perform basic life support in the event of an emergency. Purpose: to increase the knowledge and skills of health cadres about BHD training in the community during an emergency. Methods: BHD training activities are carried out for cadres who have not received training. Socialization to cadres about BHD through lectures, questions and answers, and demonstrations using Phantom BHD. The activity was carried out in 3 sessions with the details of the activities. They were pretest activity in the form of filling out questionnaires by the participants, providing material on BHD that must be accepted by cadres, and posttest on the knowledge and understanding of cadres about material that has been given. Results: The results obtained were an increase in the knowledge of cadres from a low level of knowledge of 5.7% to a high level of 68.6%. This shows that there is a change in the level of knowledge and understanding of cadres about basic life support. Conclusion: After this community service, the ability of cadres to carry out basic life support increases so that it is expected to increase life expectancy in the community in the event of an emergency

Abstract

Chemotherapy is an effective cancer treatment and works with the growth of cancer cells that develop and divide rapidly. Treatment with chemotherapy has side effects that are not small, one of which causes nausea, which affects nutritional intake. One method to deal with nausea and vomiting in chemotherapy patients is by acupressure therapy at point P6 above in the face of hands and St36 below the knee. The purpose of this study is to study the effect of acupressure therapy in handling nutritional problems in chemotherapy patients. This research is a Quasy Experiment study using nonequivalent design control group. The sample in this study amounted to 60 people who were divided into 30 people in the control group and 30 people in the intervention group. The intervention group received acupressure therapy 3 times a day, 25 minutes before chemotherapy, 6 and 12 hours after chemotherapy, while the control group received only standard therapy. The data collection of this research was used observation and interviews, and data analysis used the T test. The results showed the frequency of nausea releasing control group patients before releasing chemotherapy was dominant in the moderate category (50%) to severe (40%) after 24 hours without receiving chemotherapy, while the intervention group before giving dominant therapy at that time (53.3%) became Mild 53.3%) after being given acupressure. And from the t test results also obtained an alpha value of 0,000 which means there is a relationship between giving acupressure with decreasing frequency of nausea throwing at patients who are trying chemotherapy.

Abstract

Introduction: Students are very vulnerable to problems related to academic pressure due to transitions that occur at the individual and social levels. It is estimated that 10-30% of students experience academic stress during their studies at tertiary institutions. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of applying lavender aromatherapy in reducing stress in final-year nursing students. Methods: This research is a quasy experiment with a pre-test and post-test design approach. The population in this study were final year students, totalling 242 people with a total sample of 39 people. The sampling technique used in this study was non-probability sampling. Data processing in this study used the application of SPSS 16. While the data analysis used in this study was statistical analysis. Result Test: the study found that lavender aromatherapy was effective in reducing the stress level of final-year students. During the pre-test measurement, the average value (mean) was 25.53, while the measurement results during the post-test obtained an average value (mean) of 22.23 with a p-value = 0.000. Conclusion: there are differences in the stress level of final-year students before and after being given aromatherapy. Suggestions for future researchers is to conduct research with a quasi-experimental design, to provide 2 different interventions to students in reducing  student stress levels.

Abstract

Introduction: Menstrual pain can inhibit the activities of adolescents so that there is a decrease in adolescent achievement at school. With the provision of progressive muscle relaxation techniques. can reduce a series of contractions and cause relaxation in certain muscles that can affect pain. This study aimed to determine the effect of progressive muscle relaxation in reducing pain intensity. Methods: This research is quasi-experimental research using a pre-posttest design approach. The population in this study was grade II students of Kesdam Iskandar Muda Nursing Academy that consists of 239 students. The total of sample was 42 students and selected by purposive sampling. This therapy is given on the first day to the third day of menstruation and performed twice a day for 15 movements for 30 minutes. Results: The majority of respondents aged 20 years reached 54.8%. The age of menarche was the majority of respondents 12 years reached 31.0%. The length of menstruation for the majority of respondents 1 to 6 days reached 71.4% and the duration of pain in 3-4 days reached 52.4%. The progressive muscle relaxation technique is effective in reducing menstrual pain (ρ=0.000). Conclusion: Progressive muscle relaxation technique is effective in reducing menstrual pain. It is hoped that with the involvement of health workers and families, they can apply effective progressive muscle relaxation techniques in the adolescents to reduce pain.
