Abstract

Abstract Indonesia is a multicultural country that has various ethnicities, races, beliefs, religions, arts and regional cultures. The richness and diversity of Indonesia are one of the main and leadingfactors in national development in Indonesia. National development is carried out by optimizing the potential of culture through the tourism industry, especially cultural tourism. Cultural potential contributes the most to Indonesia because it can generate foreign exchange for the country so that the country’s economy can increase and can create jobs. To realize this, the cooperation between government, stakeholders in the tourism sector, tourism industry actors and society are important to promote tourism, especially the cultural tourism. Similarly, inter-ministerial collaboration needs to be carried out so that the development of Indonesia cultural tourism can be realized and sustainable. Cultural tourism can also be used as a means of diplomacy by Indonesia to promote Indonesia tourism by cooperating with other countries as well as non-government elements both at regional and international level. Therefore, Indonesia’s effort in improving the quality of cultural tourism is through cultural diplomacy. Keywords: tourism, cultural tourism, cultural diplomacy, culture

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the strategies implemented by the Thai Government to increase the number of foreign tourists after the Covid-19 pandemic using Sharron Dickman's 5A tourism framework. Employing a descriptive-qualitative method, this research utilizes literature study techniques for data collection and qualitative techniques for data analysis. The findings indicate that Thailand successfully revitalized its tourism sector by focusing on the 5A components. To enhance attractions, Thailand innovated by adapting to consumer preferences, easing lockdown policies, enforcing health protocols, conducting campaigns, initiating Travel Bubble programs, and launching the Sandbox program. For accessibility, the government introduced visa-free requirements, implemented the Thailand Pass system, optimized digital platforms, and developed new tourism routes. Accommodation improvements included health certifications for hotels, shopping venues, and restaurants. Facility infrastructure was strengthened through collaborations, minimal-contact initiatives, and enhanced health facilities. Finally, tourism activities were reimagined to align with post-pandemic preferences, emphasizing smaller crowds, personalized experiences, and promoting lesser-known destinations. These measures collectively enabled Thailand to regain its position as a leading tourist destination in Southeast Asia post-pandemic.

Abstract

The research analyzed the implementation of the Global Alliance to End AIDS in Children program by UNAIDS in reducing the number of children living with HIV/AIDS in South Africa. The background of the research is based on the high prevalence of HIV/AIDS in children with gaps in access to antiretroviral therapy (ARV). The method used by the researcher is descriptive qualitative with a literature study approach and secondary data analysis from official reports, scientific journals, and international policies. The results show that through a four pillar approach of early detection, maternal and child treatment, prevention, and removal of social barriers, the program succeeded in reducing child mortality from HIV by 25% in two years. The Global Health Governance and Human Security approach is the main concept in evaluating the effectiveness of international cooperation. The findings emphasize the importance of global health governance and social inclusion in addressing HIV/AIDS in vulnerable groups.
