Abstract

The natural damage phenomenon occurs throughout the world due to global warming. Global warming is caused by increasing the concentration of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. it begins from the development process, Post-industrial revolution that occurred in the 1700s where there was a change in the use of production equipment that originally used animal or human power to become a machine that uses fuel. The use of uncontrolled fuel causes environmental conditions to change over time. As a result, the world faces problems related to the food, water, soil, social, political and energy crises that impact to human survival. In addition, Increasing the number of human deaths due to natural disasters, air pollution and water pollution are serious threats to human existences. The convention was made politically to reduce the impact of natural damage due to global warming. Carbon trading schemes are expected to help states significantly reduce carbon emissions. However, the implementation of carbon trading is an alternative scheme that can be adapted by the conditions of the country. India implemented the carbon trading scheme as a step to resolve the economic and environmental crisis that has been occurred in its country. Large areas of India's forest, are power to generate funds from carbon trading schemes. The outcome, India become the second-largest country to get funds from carbon trading, but India's carbon emissions increase significantly each year. The increasing of India's domestic emissions affect the total amount of world emissions which means it will threaten the entire world

Abstract

Each country pursues a different foreign policy to overcome the spread of COVID-19. For example, The United States recruit medical staff from overseas, and exporting medical equipment is prohibited in Germany and China. Due to those policies, developing and poor countries have difficulty accessing medical equipment and medical doctors from other countries. In the middle of that situation, Cuba implemented a controversial foreign policy of sending its medical personnel and pharmaceuticals to other countries for free. Cuba faces a similar issue, a large number of COVID-19 patients in the country as well as economic challenges as a result of the US economic embargo. Using theories of health diplomacy, cultivated spill-over, and the concept of symbolic capital, this study argues that the purpose of Cuba's foreign policy of sending its medical personnel overseas is for recognition. International recognition is significant for Cuba as international recognition would encourage other countries to collaborate in the health sector or other sectors with Cuba. Furthermore, Cuba's foreign policy is projected to inspire compassion for countries throughout the world in international forums, which can assist Cuba in resolving international issues, particularly the US economic embargo.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the strategies implemented by the Thai Government to increase the number of foreign tourists after the Covid-19 pandemic using Sharron Dickman's 5A tourism framework. Employing a descriptive-qualitative method, this research utilizes literature study techniques for data collection and qualitative techniques for data analysis. The findings indicate that Thailand successfully revitalized its tourism sector by focusing on the 5A components. To enhance attractions, Thailand innovated by adapting to consumer preferences, easing lockdown policies, enforcing health protocols, conducting campaigns, initiating Travel Bubble programs, and launching the Sandbox program. For accessibility, the government introduced visa-free requirements, implemented the Thailand Pass system, optimized digital platforms, and developed new tourism routes. Accommodation improvements included health certifications for hotels, shopping venues, and restaurants. Facility infrastructure was strengthened through collaborations, minimal-contact initiatives, and enhanced health facilities. Finally, tourism activities were reimagined to align with post-pandemic preferences, emphasizing smaller crowds, personalized experiences, and promoting lesser-known destinations. These measures collectively enabled Thailand to regain its position as a leading tourist destination in Southeast Asia post-pandemic.

Abstract

The establishment of AUKUS as a response to China's aggressive movement in claiming the South China Sea has become a debate in the region because it allegedly violates ASEAN's non-nuclear principle, SEANWFZ. ASEAN member states tend to object and concern about nuclear arms competition in the region. Especially with the nuclear propulsion agreement in the development by AUKUS. Contrast to other ASEAN members, the Philippines openly supports AUKUS, as proven by the release of an official statement by the Philippine Minister of Foreign Affairs shortly after the establishment of AUKUS. In the statement, the Philippines stated that the country would fully support the AUKUS in the region and also denied allegations that the AUKUS violated the SEANWFZ. Using neorealism theory and the concept of bandwagoning, its known that the Philippines has its own reasons. The results of this study show that the Philippines' support for AUKUS is the Philippines response to the threat of China in the South China Sea. China's claims overlapping with the Philippines' EEZ caused the Philippines to feel threatened. The Philippines believes that AUKUS can reduce China's movements in the South China Sea and maintain the security stability of the Indo-Pacific region from China's threats. In addition, the Philippines argues that ASEAN doesn’t have sufficient military capabilities in dealing with China's so that an equal balance is needed in this case is AUKUS. With the Philippines supporting AUKUS, the Philippines can also strengthen relations with the United States, Australia and the United Kingdom.

Abstract

The crisis has raised concerns about behavioral adaptation and resilience changes in micro and small enterprises (MSEs). As a result, MSEs need to get policy support by determining policy strategies oriented towards collaboration schemes. This study explores the actor network of MSEs of regional superior products and determines the right policy strategy to encourage a broader and more sustainable collaboration process. This study contributes to creating collaborative policy strategy directions for SMEs by utilizing actor networks. This research focuses on elaborating the concepts of network governance and collaborative governance. The study employed a descriptive qualitative method through empirical mapping of MSE stakeholder actors using Miro Apps. Data was analyzed using IFAS-EFAS techniques to determine suitable strategies for supporting MSE policies. The results show the dynamics and complexity of the MSE network with its main vital actors: state andnon-state actors. Strategic efforts can be realized through rotation functions to achieve a productive economy by optimizing the potential for adaptive collaboration through MSE policies on superior products by minimizing existing weaknesses

Abstract

This article discusses the reasons why racial discrimination against African-Americans persists in the United States of America in this 21st century. This study applies an explanatory qualitative approach and a literature study data collection. By using the concept of the norm life cycle by Kathryn Sikkink and Martha Finnemore, this study argues that the internalization of anti-racial discrimination norms in the United States (U.S.), especially adopted from the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination (ICERD), has not been fully completed. This research analyzes three aspects of norm internalization: actors, motives, and mechanisms. From those aspects, this study found that the actors’ efforts to internalize norms are hampered by the RUDs (Reservations, Understandings, Declarations) in the ratification of ICERD. The existence of white supremacy in the United States also disrupts the conformity (motive) needed for internalization. The last, in the aspect of mechanism, especially when it is viewed within the scope of the issuance of laws, there are certain legal decisions or policies which indirectly interfere with the implementation of the mechanism in the form of laws and regulations made by the United States before.
