Abstract

Shipyards play a direct role in the development of maritime transportation in Indonesia. A shipyard is a special place equipped with facilities to support the process of building, repairing and maintaining ships. Scheduling is an important part of a new ship building project, apart from prioritizing a minimum budget and maximizing project quality. Careful project scheduling planning will support the achievement of production targets, both in quantity and quality. A shipyard in Surabaya must have its own innovation and advantages to face these challenges in order to compete with domestic and foreign shipbuilding companies. Therefore, work scheduling must be prepared using effective and efficient methods. In determining scheduling, there are several influencing factors, such as the number of workers, level of work difficulty, production facilities, and material availability. This research aims to optimize processing time planning for ship X's FBB block (rescheduling) based on various delay factors to obtain the fastest processing time for the production process. The results of accelerating critical activities using the PDM method with the alternative of additional labor are considered more efficient, where the actual duration can be accelerated by 35.6%.

Abstract

Over time, the world's composite materials industry is increasingly developing. Generally, fiberglass-reinforced composite materials are developed. However, fiberglass fibers are expensive and not environtmentally friendly. The aim of this research was to determine the effect of composites reinforced with coconut fibers soaked in alkali. Specimen making using coconut fiber reinforcement that is pre-soaked using an alkaline chemical compound (Na) with a concentration of 5%. This study carried out tensile testing with variations of coconut fiber and soaked it in alkaline chemical compounds for 1-4 days. The measurement of the tensile strength value in the composite refers to the ASTM D638-02 standard and the tensile strength value will be analyzed using the ANOVA method to determine the significant effect on the soaking treatment of NaOH. The results of the tensile strength test in this study are far from the standard results that have been set by the Indonesian Classification Bureau (BKI) in 2021. So, coconut fiber with alkaline soaking for 1-4 days cannot be used as a substitute for fiberglass as a composite material reinforcement to be applied as the main material of the ship.

Abstract

Abstract The hospital ship project is a major project that has a long period of time, with limited space allocation and human resources as well. In order to avoid problems for PT XXX related to project completion, namely experiencing delays, where many factors affect the course of the project, an improvement analysis is needed for optimization. Optimization is done by scheduling a new project with the hope that in the next similar project PT XXX will not experience similar problems. Using Critical Path Method (CPM) analysis, the assembly process of Block Side Sheel 1A (SS 1A) on the Hospital Ship Project has a work network analysis with acceleration on activities E-F-G-J-K-L-M-N-S, through analysis steps using overtime. Thus it takes an acceleration cost of Rp. 6,943,510, or an additional cost of 32.26% of the initial cost to minimize the time from 64 days to 37 days, so that there is no delay in future hospital projects.
