Abstract

Forests save a lot of natural resources which are called megadiversity area and it is very diverse, one of the forest is PT IUPHHK forest concession area. Most of the Intiga trees grow various types of plants,  from seedlings, saplings, poles, and trees. Therefore, it is important to do research on the composition of vegetation and the dominant inter-species association so that later it can be used as a consideration for the management of production forests. The results showed that not all of the vegetation that can be  found at each growth level due to live competition between one to another. It is found 74 species of vegetation in a community, 44 species of seedlings, 46 species of stems, 38 species of piles and 26 species of trees. lime, stakes and poles are dominated by mahang while trees are dominated by latex species. The type that is positively associated with a significant level off 1% (3.84) is the type of tarap and madang with a coefficient of 0.290.Keywords: Vegetation;association between dominant species

Abstract

Bamboo is one of the Non-Timber Forest Products (NTFPs) which has meaning and an important role in people's lives, especially in rural areas. The aim of this research is to describe the physical and chemical properties of bamboo habitat in Hulu Banyu Village, Loksado Subdistrict, Hulu Sungai Selatan District. The method used in this research is survey method. The determination of the survey location was based on the finding of certain types of bamboo found in the location. The location of the sampling point was determined by purposive sampling to represent the state of the bamboo habitat. The parameters observed in this study are the physical and chemical properties of the soil. The physical properties of the soil include: soil texture, soil structure, bulk density, particle density, and soil moisture content. Soil chemical properties include: soil macro nutrients (N, P, K), soil pH, and Cation Exchange Capacity (CEC). Soil texture in bamboo habitat in Hulu Banyu Village, sandy clay, sandy clay, clay and clay sand. Granular soil structure. Nutrients of N and P at both locations are average. The K content in both locations is high. The CEC values in both locations were categorized as very high and the pH values in both locations were categorized as somewhat sour. The highest bamboo potential is sweet bamboo while the smallest bamboo potential is bamboo haur. Keywords ; Bamboo; physical properties of soil; chemical properties of soil

Abstract

The use of good planting media is that it can hold water and air in comparable and sufficient amounts, free of pests and diseases, many contain nutrients. The cape plant (M .elengi L.) has high resistance and absorption to contaminate cement dust and can produce a fragrant odor that can neutralize the stench. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the composition of growing media on the growth of tanjung seedlings (M. elengi L.) and compare the growth of tanjung seedlings (M. elengi L.) in the treatment with 100% topsoil planting media composition, topsoil and peat soil, topsoil and charcoal rice husk and topsoil and cocopeat. This study uses a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) method which consists of 4 treatments and repetitions 10 times, thus obtaining 40 experimental plants. Media composition consisting of 4 treatments namely topsoil 100%, topsoil and peat soil (1: 1) topsoil and rice husk charcoal (1: 1) topsoil and cocopeat (1: 1). The composition of the planting medium tested significantly affected the growth of tanjung (M. elengi L.) seedlings on height and number of leaves due to Fcount was greater than Ftable while the increase in diameter did not have a significant effect because Fcount was smaller than Ftable. The growth of tanjung seedlings (M. elengi L.) in each treatment composition of different planting media is known that the treatment with media top soil and rice husk charcoal showed a high increase of 9.35 cm, number of leaves of 11.7 strands and diameter of 0, 21 mm larger than treatment K (topsoil 100%), treatment A (topsoil and peat soil) and treatment C (topsoil and cocopeat). Keywords: Tanjung; seedlings; growth; composition of planting media

Abstract

The study was purpose to determine the effect of giving manure to the growth of angsana (Pterocarpus indicus Willd) seedlings, some growth parameters measured such as life percentage, height, increase in diameter and number of leaves. The study used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 10 replication. The results of the atudy showed that only the increase in diameter had a significant difference between the four growth parameters. Keywords: Influence; manure;diamter; pterocarpus indicus
