The higher population growth in Indonesia makes the need for cement increase, materials obtained by drilling and blasting. These activities resulted in the opening of areas to mine the material of cement, especially limestone, clay and laterite. This study aims to determine the percentage of survival rate, quality of life and growth of Calliandra calothyrsus plants in several soil media. The method used by calculating the percentage of survival rate, quality of life and growth of C. calothyrsus plant. The highest percentage of survival of C. calothyrsus is in lateritic soil area with a percentage of 100% and then in the area of limestone land with a percentage of 94%. The lowest was in the clay soil area with percentage of 79%. The healthiest quality of living of C. calothyrsus is in limestone soil area with 56% percentage and then the most unhealthy is in laterite soil area with 51% percentage. The most miserable and dead are in the clay land area with a percentage of 6% and 21% respectively. Keywords: Calliandra calothyrsus; limestone; clay; laterite

The purpose of this research is to know the effect of liquid compost fertilizer on growth of Aquilaria malaccensis seedlings some parameters of growth such as life percentage, height, diameter increament and number of leaves are measured. Completely randomized design with 5 treatments and 10 replications is used in the research. The reseach result showed that only height and diameter were significant difference among four parameters of growth.Keywords: Influence; compost; naskuru; gaharu

The aim of this research is to know the difference of roots physical form of A marina in inundated and non inundated Mangrove forest in order to maintain their life. The research is carried out by purposive sampling in order to get inundated and non inundated sites. Direct observation is done on the root physical form on both sites. The study was purpose to determine the effect of giving manure to the growth of angsana (Pterocarpus indicus Willd) seedlings, some growth parameters measured such as life percentage, height, increase in diameter and number of leaves. The study used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 10 replication. The results of the atudy showed that only the increase in diameter had a significant difference between the four growth parameters.Keywords: Influence; manure;diamter; pterocarpus indicus

Ulin is a type of woody trees with a slow growth process that can be caused by two factors, namely internal factors (seed sources) and environmental factors (growth sites). Therefore the ulins from two different places (Kalsel and Kaltim) were tested in order to compare their growth. This was done by observing the growth of height and diameter of the stem. The method used was a quantitative method using the Independent-Sample T Test in the Staistical Package for Social Sciences to compare the growth of the two ulins. The results obtained at an average plant height showed that ulin Kaltim had better growth of 3.07 m than that of South Kalimantan which was 2.15 m. Furthermore, the diameter of ulin derived from Kaltim was 13.12 mm while that of South Kalimantan was 9.63 mm.Keywords: Ulin; Growth; Kaltim; Kalsel
