Abstract

Agarwood is one of the many non-timber forest product commodities that has an important role in terms of increasing the country's foreign exchange. One of the plant commodities is agarwood (Aquilaria malaccensis). The purpose of this study was to analyze the growth response of agarwood seedlings on a combinations of media treatment, shade and plastic covers. The experimental design used wasa factorial inthe completely randomized design with three factors: media, shade, and plastic cover. The variable measured was the height increment. The results showed that a combination of 75% topsoil with a mixture of 25% sand under 50% paranet shade and using a plastic cover provided a very significant effect on height. The highest increment height was 12.22 cm.Keywords: Aquilaria malaccensis, shade level, plastic hood, growth response

Abstract

Deforestation and degradation of natural forests and plants reached 1.6-2.0 million ha. Forestry Research and Development Agencies throughout Indonesia have begun to develop various silvicultural techniques of ulin so that the extinction of the plant can be prevented. One of the silvicultural systems that began to be developed was a gap system. The purpose of this study was to determine the growth of ulin (Eusideroxylon zwageri Teijsm & Binn.), and the influence of the size of the gaps on the growth of ulin plants in Kintap KHDTK. The results obtained were the average growth of the lowest ironwood plants from the value of diameter (1.27 cm)  that was at without gap treatment, while the highest growth was the best diameter (5.01 cm), which was at the gap with diameter of 12 m. The optimal diameter of ironwood growth is in the size of a 12 m. Treatment of overlays of 12 m gives a good growth effect for ironwod plants.

Abstract

Indonesia has 136.17 million hectares (ha) of forest, of which 20 million ha is peat forest. Meanwhile, Kalimantan with an area of 746,305 km2 of which 539,460 km2 (70%) is in Indonesian territory. The purpose of this study was to evaluate peatland revegetation plants and analyze the health of the types of plants planted on peat revegetation in the peat restoration program. Some growth parameters are measured such as the percentage of life, plant height, plant diameter, and plant health. The results of this study are 1,763 individuals, consisting of 12 types of plants. The highest number of plants is the Prince with 372 individuals. The fewest plants are eucalyptus and sapodilla. Keywords: Revegetation; Diameter; Height; Plant Health

Abstract

The use of good planting media is that it can hold water and air in comparable and sufficient amounts, free of pests and diseases, many contain nutrients. The cape plant (M .elengi L.) has high resistance and absorption to contaminate cement dust and can produce a fragrant odor that can neutralize the stench. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the composition of growing media on the growth of tanjung seedlings (M. elengi L.) and compare the growth of tanjung seedlings (M. elengi L.) in the treatment with 100% topsoil planting media composition, topsoil and peat soil, topsoil and charcoal rice husk and topsoil and cocopeat. This study uses a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) method which consists of 4 treatments and repetitions 10 times, thus obtaining 40 experimental plants. Media composition consisting of 4 treatments namely topsoil 100%, topsoil and peat soil (1: 1) topsoil and rice husk charcoal (1: 1) topsoil and cocopeat (1: 1). The composition of the planting medium tested significantly affected the growth of tanjung (M. elengi L.) seedlings on height and number of leaves due to Fcount was greater than Ftable while the increase in diameter did not have a significant effect because Fcount was smaller than Ftable. The growth of tanjung seedlings (M. elengi L.) in each treatment composition of different planting media is known that the treatment with media top soil and rice husk charcoal showed a high increase of 9.35 cm, number of leaves of 11.7 strands and diameter of 0, 21 mm larger than treatment K (topsoil 100%), treatment A (topsoil and peat soil) and treatment C (topsoil and cocopeat). Keywords: Tanjung; seedlings; growth; composition of planting media

Abstract

The research aimed to know the effect of growing media that giving the best respons to growth of sengon and to know the effect of treathment the best for each parameter on the growth of sengon seedlings. The study was conducted duringjuni until Agustus 2016 in UPTD PembibitanTanamanHutanDinasKehutanan dan perkebunanKabupatenKotawaringin Timur Procinsi Kalimantan Tengah. Experiment design arranged in a Completely Randomized Design (RAL) with 6 treatment by 10 times. The treathment this study was combinasi from growing media with oil palm bunc by K (100 % Top Soil : 0 % AJS), A (90 % Top Soil : 10 % AJS), B (80 % Top Soil : 20 % AJS), C (70 % Top Soil : 30 % AJS), D (60 % Top Soil : 40 % AJS), dan E (50 % Top Soil : 50 % AJS). The research variable is percent of life tree, high tree, number of lieves, and diameter stem after that Data analysis using analysis of varian (Anova).Analysis results shows that giving oil palm buncis effect to percent of life tree, high tree, number of lieves, and diameter stem. Combinasitreathment of growing media C,D and E getting the best does to percent of life tree, as well as combination of growing media the effective to respon growth sengon is combination D for growthofhigt tree, and combinasi of growing media E for number of lieves and diameter stem. Keywords: Sengon; growing media and oil palm bunc

Abstract

The aims of this study to determine the response of the growth of Nyamplung seedlings to the provision of planting media (soil, sand, and a mixture of both), and maintenance in plastic hoods. The benefit of this research is to provide information on the response of nyamplung seedling growth with various growing media and maintenance in plastic hoods to the growth of nyamplung seedlings which are useful in developing silvicultural techniques for the purpose of nyamplung cultivation to accelerate growth. Analysis data using design random complete (RAL) factorial) with the observation parameter is the increase in height of nyamplung seedlings. The results showed that the maintenance in plastic hoods had a very significant effect on the increase in height with the treatment of planting media in the form of sand, soil and a mixture of both. Keywords: Nyamplung; Media; Plastic hoods; Growth

Abstract

This study aims to determine the growth response of seedlings to the height of inundation measured from the root neck that has been marked with a sewing thread with a distance of 1 cm. tillering diameter to the measured inundation height from the root neck sewing thread with a distance of 1 cm and knowing the percentage of life of the seedlings of Shorea balangeran obtained by calculating the number of live tillers divided by the number of dead tillers multiplied by 100%. The benefits of research so that it can be an information material and material for consideration for the relevant agencies to determine the location of planting of prince baloons related to the height of the puddle in a place. The research was carried out using a completely randomized design (CRD) and diversity analysis method. The results showed that the highest increase in the number of prince puppies occurred on the PSP treatment (Immersion to Polybag) with an increase in the average value of 2.09 cm while the lowest increase in the height of the prince's tillers occurred with the PSUB treatment. average 1.16 cm. The largest increase in diameter of prince puppies occurred in TP treatment (without immersion) with an average increase in diameter of 0.17 mm while the lowest increase in diameter of bald puppies occurred in the treatment of PSUB (Immersion to End of Stem) with an average increase in diameter of 0.052 mm. The percentage of life of all tillers Shorea balangeran is 78.75% (63 live tillers from 80 children studied). Keywords: Peat Swamp, Accretion, Inundation, Shorea balangeran (Korth.) Addition Burck
