Abstract

Motorized trike drift is a unique means of transportation that is adapted from a bicycle with 3 wheels, 2 wheels at the rear and 1 wheel at the front for steering control. The purpose of the study was to design and manufacture of motorized trike drift  using gasoline engine Suzuki Jet Cooled 110 cc as a power source. From the process of designing and manufacturing, has produced a motorized trike drift using  gasoline engine Suzuki Jet Cooled 110 cc as a power source. The transmission system used is a chain and sprocket. From the test results, the speed of motorized trike drift can reach 40 km /hour, but for convenience, the speed limit is 20-25 km / hour. For fuel use, 1 litre of fuel can be used within 30 minutes or within a distance of 15-20 km.

Abstract

Elephant grass and palm frond chopping machines is a machine used to chop elephant grass and palm fronds for animal feed. The purpose of the study is to design and manufacture a machine used for animal feed. This machine is designed and manufactured to chop elephant grass and palm fronds. Based on the results of the design and manufacture, a machine for chopping elephant grass and palm fronds for animal feed has been designed and manufactured. This machine uses a gasoline motor with a capacity of 5.5 HP. While the transmission system used is a pulley and belt transmission system. Based on the test results, the elephant grass and palm frond chopping machine can operate and function properly. The test results also show that the volume of chopped elephant grass is greater than the volume of chopped palm fronds. While the results of chopped elephant grass are better than the results of chopped palm fronds

Abstract

The use of Centrifuge Decanter as a waste treatment in industry has been widely used. Centrifuge Decanter separates waste in the form of a mixture of solids and liquids (slury) by utilizing the centrifugal force generated by the difference in the rotation of the tube (bowl) and screw conveyor. The rotation of the screw conveyor is reduced through a cycloidal gearbox. The shaft in the cycloid breaks during operation, for that it is necessary to conduct research to determine the cause of this shaft fracture. This research starts from a literature study that discusses the working mechanism of the decanter and the causes of the failure of the cycloidal gearbox shaft. For completeness of the analysis, data collection includes data on engine operation, physical and mechanical properties of the shaft material, fractography of the shaft and the stresses acting on the shaft. From the results of data analysis, it is known that the shaft has ductile fracture due to overload. The load that causes the shaft to break is the torsional load that comes from the rotation of the decanter tube at the initial start of the engine. Torque due to the rotation of the tube produces a shear stress that exceeds the yield stress of the shaft material plus a stress concentration factor in the fractured shaft fillet area.

Abstract

CNC machines are computer-controlled machines that can understand the N and G codes (Gcodes) that regulate the machine tool system, (program motion pointers using numbers and letters to cut rotating workpieces), the machine works according to code commands. The code programme used is G75 for the groove making process and G97 for the CNC Turning process. The research aims to determine the variation of spindle rotation on S45C carbon steel. The speed variations used are 1266 rpm, 1066 rpm, 866 rpm. With a depth of cut of 0.4 mm and a feeding of cut of 0.15 mm and the insert used is an insert with the Iscar brand. The average value results obtained from the testing process using a roughness test tool (stylus). The lowest roughness value at 1266 rpm spindle rotation is included in the roughness class, namely N7. The highest roughness value at 866 rpm spindle rotation is included in the roughness class, namely N8. While the intermediate roughness value at 1066 rpm spindle rotation is included in the N7 roughness class. The effect of roughness results on objects, namely, the higher the spindle rotation, the lower the value of the roughness results, on the contrary, the lower the spindle rotation, the rougher the roughness value in the turning process.

Abstract

CNC machine is a machine tool whose entire operation is controlled using a computer by inputting N and G codes. There are 2 types of programming for CNC lathes, namely incremental (the starting point of the program can change or the program endpoint becomes the beginning point of the next program), absolute (the starting point becomes the fixed reference point of the program. The study aimed to determine the low surface roughness value of S45C carbon steel with feeding motion variations of 0.15 mm, 0.25 mm, and 0.35 mm with a cutting depth of 0.4 mm and a constant spindle rotation speed. The insert used is branded iscar with a radius of 0.8 mm.. The lowest roughness value at feeding motion of 0.15 mm belongs to the roughness class, namely N7. The intermediate roughness value at feeding motion of 0.25 mm belongs to the roughness class N7. While the highest roughness value in feeding motion (feeding) 0.35 mm is included in the roughness class, namely N8. The average value results are obtained from the testing process using a roughness test tool (stylus).. The effect of feeding motion on the results of the surface roughness of S45C carbon steel in the CNC process is that the smaller the feeding value, the lower the roughness value produced, while the greater the feeding value, the higher the roughness value produced.

Abstract

Meningkatnya angka putus sekolah bagi remaja menjadi kekhawatiran bagi semua pihak juga berpotensi untuk munculnya penyakit masyarakat. Remaja putus sekolah rentan terhadap pergaulan yang salah, yang selanjutnya akan mengarah pada kenakalan remaja dan berkurangnya keamanan masyarakat. Kenaikan jumlah remaja putus sekolah juga berpengaruh pada perekonomian masyarakat dan Negara Indonesia. Politeknik Kampar sebagai lembaga pendidikan vokasi, tempat untuk mempersiapkan generasi muda bangsa yang mandiri dan siap bekerja. Berdasarkan kondisi saat ini, Program Studi Perawatan dan Perbaikan Mesin Politeknik Kampar berbagi ilmu dan keterampilan kepada remaja putus sekolah yang ada di sekitar wilayah Kampus Bangkinang Kota, Riau melalui kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat. Kegiatan pelatihan ini dilakukan melalui penyampaian materi dan praktek las SMAW. Kegiatan pelatihan ini bertujuan  agar remaja putus sekolah mendapatkan keterampilan sehingga bisa menjadi modal dalam bekerja dan bisa membiayai diri sendiri dan keluarga serta menghindari diri dari pergaulan bebas dan kenakalan remaja. Hasil kegiatan pelatihan menunjukkan tingkat keberhasilan dengan indikasi adanya  respon yang positif dari peserta serta pemahaman peserta terhadap materi yang diberikan. The increasing number of teen dropouts is a concern for all parties and the potential for public ills to emerge. Adolescents who drop out of school are vulnerable to wrong associations, leading to juvenile delinquency and reduced public safety. The increase in the number of teenagers dropping out of school also has an impact on the economy of the Indonesian people and state. As a vocational education institution, Kampar Polytechnic is a place to prepare the nation's young generation, who are independent and ready to work. Based on current conditions, the Kampar Polytechnic Machine Maintenance and Repair Study Program shares knowledge and skills with out-of-school teenagers around the Bangkinang Kota Campus, Riau, through community service activities. This training activity is carried out through the delivery of SMAW welding materials and practices. This training activity aims to make out-of-school teenagers gain skills to be used as capital to work, support themselves and their families, and avoid promiscuity and juvenile delinquency. The results of the training activities indicate the level of success with an indication of a positive response from the participants and the participant's understanding of the material provided.

Abstract

Computer-aided design (CAD) is one of the competencies taught to vocational students. The software commonly used is Auto CAD, which focuses on constructing two-dimensional (2D) drawings. AutoCAD can also create three-dimensional (3D) drawings, but its features are limited. Based on these conditions, through community service activities, Politeknik Kampar improves the competence of students of SMK Negeri 1 Bangkinang Kota, Department of Mechanical Engineering. This activity aims to strengthen the CAD competence of vocational students using Solidworks software. The results of the training activities show the level of success with indications of a positive response from the participants and the participant's understanding of the material being taught. Computer-aided design (CAD) merupakan salah satu kompetensi yang diajarkan kepada siswa smk. Software yang biasa digunakan adalah Auto CAD yang fokus pada konstruksi gambar dua dimensi (2D). AutoCAD juga dapat digunakan untuk membuat Gambar tiga dimesnsi (3D), tetapi fiturnya sangat terbatas. Berdasarkan kondisi tersebut, Politeknik Kampar turut serta dalam meningkatkan kompetensi siswa SMK Negeri 1 Bangkinang Kota, Jurusan Teknik Pemesinan melalui kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat. Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah untuk meningkatkan kompetensi CAD dari siswa smk menggunakan software Solidworks. Hasil kegiatan pelatihan menunjukkan tingkat keberhasilan dengan indikasi adanya adanya respon yang positif dari peserta serta pemahaman peserta terhadap materi yang diajarkan.

Abstract

Threshing is the post-harvest handling stage after the harvesting process. Threshing is an integral part of the palm post-harvest handling process. The harvested oil palms are threshed to separate the fruit from the bunches. The threshing process is carried out so that small oil palm fruits or oil palm fruit bunches weighing below 5 kg can be accepted at the palm oil mill. Generally, the weight of fresh fruit bunches (FFB) under 5 kilograms is not sold, so before being taken to the palm oil mill, it must be threshed first so that the palm oil becomes brondolan or grains of palm oil that can be accepted by the palm oil mill. In this final project, the author designed a small oil palm fruit threshing machine from the bunches aimed at increasing the profits of farmers or oil palm entrepreneurs, because small oil palm fruits can be accepted at palm oil mills. In this design, the driving engine uses a fuel motor motor with a power of 7 HP.

Abstract

In the practical and sophisticated world of the manufacturing industry, the best product results are needed. To answer market needs that want products with maximum results and produce them in a short time, the non-conventional Computer Numerical Controlled Lathe (CNC) is available as a machine tool production tool that is controlled using a computer system to cut workpieces which are rotated to determine the roughness value on the workpiece surface. The aim of this research is to obtain the lowest surface roughness results. Using S45C carbon steel material with Sumitomo CNMG 120404-N-Gu-AC8025 brand insert with a Radius of 0.4 mm on the SKT 160A CNC Turning machine. The next process is the process of turning the workpiece with variations in cutting depth of 0.1 mm, 0.2 mm, 0.3 mm, 0.4 mm, 0.5 mm, 0.6 mm, 0.7 mm, 0.8 mm , 0.9mm, 1.0mm, 1.1mm. Using the G96 program code, the feed movement is 0.15 mm/rev with a constant spindle speed of 2700 rpm and using a Stylus as a measure of surface roughness value. By carrying out 1 test on 11 samples, each sample consisting of 3 test points. Based on the results of surface roughness data, the lowest average Ra roughness results for an insert radius of 0.4 mm were 1,115 µm at a cutting depth of 0.6 mm and was included in the roughness tolerance value N6.
